  1. That's the thing, they're not pulling their fingers out... not for some time now. It might be the end of this team Poch built... Eriksen, Toby, Vertonghen all look on their way out. Dier, Alli and a few others look an absolute shadow of their former selves How long will Kane stay if we're losing our best players and stop competing? This is slightly outdated now, but a month ago we had 15 points from our last 15 league games... one game aside, not much has changed of late. It's not good, it's more than a blip unfortunately. https://www.90min.com/posts/6442056-the-premier-league-form-table-over-the-last-15-games-is-grim-reading-for-tottenham-fans
  2. That's the thing, it's been a while we've been struggling... our CL run just covered over the cracks late last season. Our 'form' the last calendar year or so would not have gotten us top 6 Problems have been building for some time - way too many players not delivering, and now clearly some contract issues and a break up in player manager relations. I would back Poch, I wish he had been backed more in the window too (and earlier) and there wasn't this uncertainty over key players... but it's happening in front of our eyes And the reality is, that if this carries on another month I won't be remotely surprised to see this all come to an end Very sad
  3. Worrying signs at Spurs... players are all over the place. Eriksen has now missed 3 or 4 penalties this season already - his head is clearly not in it. Poch also looking lost and fumbling his way through things. This all goes back to Poch's brainfart to talk about possibly moving on if Spurs had won the Champions League - stability starts at the top and he's made himself look weak and the trickle down to the players is obvious. Very few of our players at the races at the moment, they all look distracted and to a degree disinterested. Very sad if this is the end of an era - Poch should of been our coach for at least another 5 years, building on a brilliant core of players, but if things don't turnaround fast, Levy is never one not to act
  4. I'll knight thee... Sir Rigid Single Speed Freakshow who does a 'bit of running' and other stuff on the side
  5. Rest is Importanter than training I is telling you... hahaha Even by my piss poor standards, that first year was taking taking it way too far. Couch to Comrades apparently requires more than 200kms in total - don't do your second and third marathons on the same day a wise man once said. I think that's where my problems all started, I almost 'made it' got to the finish in 11:82... and those were the worst conditions in history with a 40% DNF rate. One thing I did learn that day is I am a pretty stubborn muel I do hope one day to actually become a runner - when that is, time will tell
  6. I wasn't either... I had barely a couple hundred km's under the belt at the time. Heck, I'm still hardly a runner if I think about it
  7. Berg Winds... Comrades 2013 flashback Sends shivers down my spine Good luck
  8. Lots of great sportsmen that aren't giant douche bags... it's not a prerequisite to success.
  9. I can't even imagine doing 1km at that speed
  10. Will give Mr Kipchoge fresh enthusiasm for his sub 2 marathon... Two minutes to play with on the back nine so to speak
  11. Hard luck Ronnie - never nice when you don't hit a goal, but that's still a rock solid time. Well done Shaper - you seem like a well oiled machine that just does the ground work right and hit's those goals like clockwork. Well done to Daniel and Stu who I saw both did cracking times as well - you guys are animals
  12. Very interesting weekend... Man City defensively not the same with out Laporte - Norwich deserved that win full stop Liverpool suddenly looking pretty rosey, even if it is very early days Man Utd and Leicester wasn't the game I thought it might be - two teams who thrive on the counter more than anything, but not too sharp when they need to open up sides Spurs looked a lot sharper and heading back towards full strength, hopefully we can get top four again so that Poch is at least in a strong position to sign players heading forward. Can't see us touching Liverpool and City Same old Arsenal - lucky to get a draw with Watford. David Luiz is going to be the gift that keeps on giving. Impressive result from Chelsea - Frank certainly looks like he's building something there. Lots of young English talent that would in the past have been rotting away on loan or on the bench... can only be a good thing long term
  13. Enjoy it... and seriously take pics! I take dozens at every race and have never regretted it for a second! We're getting older and our memories are not what they always were And 'little rest stops' never hurt anyone either
  14. Got a good half a dozen+ guys running... good luck all, hope conditions are good and the legs strong! Look forward to the reports
  15. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathieu_van_der_Poel He literally can do it all on a bike... He won World/European and national champs in Cyclocross this year, Amstel Gold Road race in an absolute freak show of strength (seriously go watch the video) and then won 3 of the 4 Mtb World Cup races he rode in... making a certain Mr Nino Schurter look pretty average.
  16. He could probably be Judo and Darts champ as well if he tried...
  17. Definitely... I'm keen, if not next year, the year after. Love that area
  18. Not sure what you are after with this? Did you run the Sky marathon in sub 4:50? If so, would you be happy with being seeded straight up as per that time? I'd gather most likely not, in which case you'd run a normal marathon anyway to improve that seeding which would in term make this whole new angle to the discussion null and void. And if you really actually wanted to run Comrades, you'd no doubt surely do some road marathons anyway as training and prep... making me wonder yet again how any of this is even relevant
  19. We still make more of them than you would imagine... running and 'die hards' go hand in hand
  20. Just awesome
  21. Vaal city marathon sounds like it was a dogshow... race collection on the morning ran way late, delaying the start by 20minutes, and then the leading runners got taken off the route by the lead car, so our clubs top guy potentially missed out on a win as he ended up doing an extra km+ which dropped him to 10th. And to top it off, it sounds like the whole route ended up being short by over 1.5km due to a marshalling mistake, so nobodies result will qualify them for Comrades Can imagine there are going to be some very angry runners out there
  22. Had a solid weekend on Superbru... 5 exact results helped me streak ahead in my group! If only I had placed some bets
  23. Had been dreading this game, the first time I've really feared Arsenal in ages... that was more about us than them, we've been poor so far this season, and for some time outside of our Champions League run last season too - nowhere near Champions league qualifying form this last calendar year if you look at our results. Squad definitely not settled, but hopefully after tonight the team can get back to focusing on the games ahead and not endless transfer ideas. Definitely one of those games that could of gone either way, both teams with lots of chances, but all in all I can be happy enough with a point away from home. We will get better. Arsenal are still really struggling at the back, it's going to cost them. VAR... still lots of grey areas that need clarity... how the rugby tackle on Deli Alli wasn't a penalty I will never know. It's even more obvious than the one we should of got last week. It did 'save us' with Arsenals third though, so not all bad. If only Kane's shot had snuck just inside that post... crikey what a hit, that post is still vibrating today Liverpool and City looking like setting up another ridiculous title charge
  24. There is a gulf forming... Zenit who were in pot 1 of the Champions league would be underdogs against pretty much all of the English top 6. It's not going to change either... Wolves will not embarrass themselves in Europe either. Money talks Quite like the idea of Bayern Munich for Spurs... nice change up from the usual group of death we seem to get
