  1. If City and Liverpool win on Sunday they will be the second and third highest totals in Premier League history... not too shabby https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/best-premier-league-teams-points-total-greatest-manchester-city-liverpool?page=0%2C1 And don't forget there were 4 English teams in the last 8 and it looks quite likely there will be two in the Europa league final. So they probably deserve a little respect I reckon...
  2. You clearly see things a bit different to me... I find it hard to crit two teams who're going to end up on 97 and 98 points for the season... in the toughest most competitive league in the world, while still winning domestic cups and in another final (City), and both competing well into the latter rounds of the Champions league City have only dropped 3 points this calendar year. That's insane consistency
  3. A goal worthy of winning the league... Hats off to both teams, they seriously haven't blinked. Crazy to think Liverpool 'lost' the league title back on the 3rd of March when they drew with Everton... (the blue half will be delighted with this of course!) That's the last time either of them dropped any points. I guess there is still the small matter of the last game, and Brighton can be seriously stubborn on their day, but this just feels like the end for Liverpool. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they lost to a very dangerous Wolves side on the last day. What a title race this has been, you can only sympathize with the loser - a points tally that would have won you a title 99% of the time. And it's not like the league is an easy place to grab points these days. Will be interesting to see if these two can muster up the strength to go again next year? Also interested to see who else comes up from the Championship, hoping Leeds or Villa, would be good to have them back.
  4. I think he got close enough at Berlin to suggest it's viable... but you just never know when you're dealing with new ground. Largely it is suggested barriers are mental to a point, so I think it helps a lot that he believes himself that it's possible. And the Nike attempt goes some way towards helping that mentality too... Very interesting times
  5. I'll take 4th any which way we can get it... nice little boost before the Champs league semi. Was really worried about that last game against Everton without Son - could of been a ropey last day. That Bournemouth game was crazy, the players were at least up for the game I guess. We should of been leading by half time, but their young goalie was playing a blinder. Very strange one from Son... and then Foyth, I must question Poch even putting him on in a game on the edge like that. He is unfortunately still very raw and very prone to these sort of things. A talent, but lots to learn still. Tough one to concede so late, we actually did pretty well with 9 men for 45minutes... Arsenal and United have an awful lot of work to do... scary how much Arsenal are missing Ramsay already. Will be interesting to see how well they can recruit in the transfer window, I am guessing they are going to have to throw a lot of money at players without Champions League football. Last chance for Liverpool tonight I recon... if City win tonight, I reckon it's over.
  6. And we drew with Barca... Barca are beatable for sure, Liverpool on another night could have won that game. Missed some very, very good chances which will always come back to bite you in these situations. No away goal gives them very little chance... but I reckon they will make a go of it at Anfield Messi is ridiculous, what a pleasure to watch Moussa Sissoko will have his number in the final though
  7. Poor game again tonight... no precision anywhere near goal. Alli really not doing anything, totally lost his mojo. Trippiers crossing is shocking as well. Even Eriksen was off the boil... Still in with a shout though and we're a very handy team away from home, especially with Son back in the mix. Very nice little Ajax team though, pity they will get pulled apart once again after the season
  8. Glad Southampton are safe... reckon they’ll be a solid top half team next year
  9. That was very Spursy Very poor effort for a derby... can only assume eyes are on Tuesday
  10. The FOMO is real... seriously need to do this again. Enjoy guys, you're in for a special treat! Just hope all the best bits are still in one piece after all this rain...
  11. He could definitely end up in China or the MLS, but I wouldn't be surprised if Utd went for him... he's averaged 40 games a season the last two years, so he's not as crocked as people make out... I reckon coming back to the Prem would be good for him and when he's fit and firing, there are not a lot of teams that he wouldn't be a key player for.
  12. Don't forget he's still probably earning less money than Alexis Sanchez and Carlos Tevez... I've no doubts about his quality, he's done it in the Prem consistently, the big question mark would be his injuries. Also Zidane liked Bale, and he won them some crucial games so I don't always believe the papers either... I guess we'll see. If the price isn't too high, there will be teams lining up to take a punt on him.
  13. The most important trait to learn in life is the ability to laugh at ourselves from time to time...
  14. 70 points with 3 games to play isn't exactly by default... That would almost be title winning form some years.
  15. Yip, they don't have anyone quite like him and that's another top end player leaving for nothing... Very poor business from Arsenal... you can't allow 60mil+ players to leave for free.
  16. One small problem with the trail run... I have ended my Asics Nimbus's life a little prematurely... road shoes definitely not up to off road rigors. Took a big chunk out of the one sole...
  17. Well done to all that ran OMTOM... pity about the divert, but that's life in SA I guess. My wife still loved her first one regardless. I really loved the Trail (25km odd) run... pretty tough, in fact 30% more elevation than the 56km Ultra route, but the views are awesome and it was a great morning out in beautiful scenery. Also didn't have any issues with my failing body, so maybe the trails are a little easier on the body... Cradle 32km this weekend and then Wally marathon and possibly/hopefully Comrades qualification next week on the public holiday.
  18. I generally always back the underdog... but crikey Liverpool fans make it hard to support them Go Citeh
  19. We really needed that... crikey, I don't know where Brighton found that many buses to park at "WHL". It's exactly games like that where you need Kane... guess the results all that matters. West Ham next... as always they'll be at full tilt trying to irritate us. Utd out the top 4 race if they lose tonight... going to be tight between Chelsea and Arsenal for that last spot. Won't be surprised if Wolves beat Arsenal tonight either though...
  20. I've got a funny feeling about tonight... Utd have been shocking of late, City on paper should easily pick them off, but it's a Derby and you just never know. It's quite potentially league deciding... and the funny thing is, I'm pretty certain 99% of Utd fans and players would rather City won the league. Will be interesting to see how it plays out
  21. All things said and done... you could definitely run OMTOM Candz, you maybe just don't know it yet If they did ever do a short route for Comrades on the Sat for the supporters etc, I could get on board with that, it just mustn't be called the Comrades Half... I'm sure someone in marketing could bomb out a cool name idea with a subtle link.
  22. It's a Half-Tom of course... the two medals combine to make one medal and you get a relay related tee? I dunno, they are definitely making money out of us, but as someone who duffed up my qualifying this year knows, it's cool that you can at least do something with that expensive accom and trip down to the Cape. I guess it would be different if it was the big goal for the year? I feel very similar about Half Ironman - seen way to many folk call themselves an Ironman, but having only done a half. It's not even half dammit... it's like only 30% of the effort But yeah... I will seriously cringe the day we've got 21km Comrades finishers
  23. Yip, my fastest marathon distance is still the first 42.2km's of Two Oceans... 4:02, and that includes the first few km's up Chappies.
  24. I was actually tempted to do this... but not sure what will be left of my legs after the Trail run on the Friday Second leg probably wouldn't be all that bad at such a short distance? It's tough but doable when you've done the first leg... big difference hitting Chappies at 40kms and at 12kms Interesting to see how they manage the logistics
  25. I can confirm the other side of the spectrum definitely holds true... If you do very little training, and then even less, and then somehow still even less... it does not end particularly well
