  1. Totally believable... these things happen. Don't forget this gem from the father of one of our current superstars... ADRI VAN DER POEL'S PIGEON PIE Strychnine is a substance better known as a rodent poison, but in small doses has the effect of helping tired leg muscles. Dutch pro Adri van der Poel tested positive for it in 1983 and blamed the result on eating a pigeon pie made with his father-in-law's racing pigeons which had been doped with the substance.
  2. Where the City fans? I'm not one, but even I'm seriously confused/pissed how that penalty was not given in the Chelsea game? If you're a defender and you are wrong side of the striker and you run into the back of his legs... it's a penalty. Stone cold, 110%, every time. But even the VAR did nothing to rectify it?! And you could see it completely rattled the City side and of course Chelsea bundled in a last minute winner. How things like this can still happen with VAR is a complete joke... I'm all for innovation, but when the wheels come off like that, there needs to be some serious questions asked. You'd swear Alex Ferguson was the VAR... Also hope for Aguero's sake that is not his last game for City. Would be a tragedy for that to be his parting shot... Spurs still suck - we had no fight against Leeds, it was sad to watch. At least now we can't paper over the cracks of the obvious rebuild needed with a few good displays. Sadly think Kane may have had enough too... the Glazers will need to get a lot more than $90mill out their piggy banks though. Harry is irreplaceable, no matter how much money. But I can't even blame him
  3. It really is hard to counter the old counter argument...
  4. Nothing negative about your post... was more aimed at the ones before you, and even then, not in anything resembling a serious manner. As per Bundu Rick, it's basically a matter of cutting yourself down to one meal/feasting period a day. I only eat in the evenings, making sure it's proper food with a nice balance of nutrients. So basically from when I wake up in the morning until I get home from work, there is nothing effecting my sugar levels in anyway during the day. You sit at a nice constant energy level and don't suffer highs and lows like normal. It's great to find something that works for me. Anyone with a desk job should honestly look at is as an option... the weight loss is great, but really only just a part of the upside
  5. Can't not respect her attitude to this... having worked with her briefly as well on a custom SA kit, I can tell you she is a proper professional. Hope the youngsters coming through the ranks are taking notes
  6. Sorry to ruin the negative slant of the last few posts... but I'm dropping nicely Been doing OMAD for 6 weeks now, and the results and pretty much everything about it - have been nothing short of awesome. As someone tied to a desk for much of my working day, it just fits in perfectly and works an absolute treat. The clarity you get from your rock solid insulin levels is also next level and a definite added bonus. Still weighing up how to manage it with hard training, but that will come... for now I am getting by on a good long Friday squash session and the odd run. I also don't have to stick to it religiously over weekends etc when I'm running around with the kids, but find it easy to slot right back into every Monday. The only challenge to it, is drinking my coffee black during the day... not the end of the world, but I do love my coffee, and with a bit of milk. Small price to pay though
  7. Interesting two first legs... Chelsea probably should have won their away leg, and City did... City were brilliant in the second half, PSG just didn't have any answers. Chelsea also seriously impressive against Real, Tuchel clearly doing a very good job. The only slight miss at the moment seems to be Werner who is not scoring as many as he should be. Both ties very nicely setup for the second leg
  8. Hard work being a Spurs fan... Effort aside, we didn't really have a plan to try win that. With no forward thinking midfielders on the park, Son and Kane were completely isolated and we never held the ball for more than a few passes across the back. When we brought on Sissoko instead of Ndombele I wanted to cry. And Aurier of course can always be relied on to give away a stupid foul in a dangerous position and just in general, we've just got far too many passengers sadly. Hope we can attract a top coach to take us forward again, squad needs some aggressive trimming and some new ideas. Just worried who we might lose heading forward... Kane and Son could play just about anywhere in the world. Half our squad aren't good or interested enough. Next coach is going to be crucial... sad to think in how good a spot we were 3 years ago, but we've been in a steady decline... Similar to be said for quite a few English clubs, the fact we're even in top 4 contention with the rubbish we've put up this season, show's just how far ahead City are.
  9. At least it balanced out in the end... I guess it will take time to get used to. For me Son's first goal should stand as well, on the simply grounds the goalie is just never saving it. It's in the corner from 2meters out... but yeah, we could debate these things all day. Hopefully over a season they all just balance out, but I know many a times it's pissed me off.
  10. Yeah... just shows you what it's really about for all the 'outraged clubs' The outrage is more because they weren't one of the chosen ones. And please, all these fake hypocrites players crying about how it's not sport, while they demand their next contract extension and salary increase up to R5mil a week on the back of those exact fans paying over the odds to keep the whole steaming pile afloat... And now we have an Oil Prince heading up the 'ethical' side of things Farcical
  11. They'll get taken to court and will lose... And actions like this remind me exactly why we should all be sick of these governing bodies.
  12. Also heard he didn't want to take training in protest... so he got fired. If there is a clause in his contract that he violated, I can see it as a master-stroke to avoid a fat pay-out. Would be absolutely hilarious And who is Jose kidding, he's probably just upset the big money is coming just as his career is ending.
  13. He wasn't going to be around for it anyway...
  14. Yeah, total financial game changer - and that money will trickle down into the league etc - make no mistake. If they can come up with a plan that makes the comp more accessible to other teams then I can really get on board with things. The whole golden ticket for life thing is probably all that still bothers me... but I'm sure a bit more balance can be found. Or at the very least, this can be a nice big stick to beat the bureaucrats with...
  15. Because we want to win the game this weekend The more I think about it, the more this Super League is weighted very nicely for the English clubs... a top 7 place likely getting you the equivalent of Champions League? I would just suggest, it's only the top 5 placed in the Super league who stay up each year, with the 6th team having a play-off with the next best team in the league... so in theory, potentially two teams changing each year in the Super League.
  16. Happy days! Actually fancy our chances this weekend a bit better now Pity City lost on Sat, not a team that you need motivated, but finals are funny things!
  17. Yeah, I think they knew they needed to have all their ducks in a row before coming out with it... You look at the power and support of those 12 clubs and you're looking at a guess, probably 70% of the worlds football fans... bring in Bayern, Dortmund and PSG and you're in full control. FIFA/EUFA of course panicking, but this is nothing more than they deserve. We live in a global open market and they will be just fine with milking World Cups and European championships for money still
  18. Still making my mind up on the Super League... Strong response and outcry from most fans, but I'm not going to be swept away and just go blindly along with that... well not yet at least. In general there is always a strong reaction to change, and it's hard to always see the long term affects, but these are the thoughts I have so far. I don't like the guaranteed status of the 6 teams... 4 or 5 maybe, but this nailed in for life golden status doesn't sit too well and I can see it not going down well with the Leicester, Everton, West Ham, Leeds of the world. How those 5 extra slots will be allocated I don't know yet, but I would assume another English team could grab one. I'm guessing the expected other 3 teams in the league will be German? Or maybe Bayern, Dortmund and PSG? I don't care how unhappy this makes FIFA... seriously, I've got no time for them. As much as I see people complaining about their clubs joining this league, I don't see any team necessarily having had the power to stop this... and I can only imagine the uproar if any of the teams who are part of this had declined. Things change, the world moves on, you adapt or die. $3.5 billion is game changing... as a Spur fan, we pay off our stadium in one shot, we hold on to Harry Kane and we upgrade our squad and hopefully our manager another 20% For the clubs missing out, I'm not sure they're losing all that much... with 6 English teams in the comp, they've actually probably got more of a shot making it into this comp than they did with the Champions League. You come 7th in the league and could make this... assuming there is a qualification spot available. The second thing is the trickle down affect of the money in this comp, this is next level and with the extra games, all these teams will be needing more players and probably be paying even more over the top fees for the best players. You will also have teams coming 10th in the Premier League still getting European football? It will be sad not to have the Ajax, Porto, Rangers, Atalanta, RB Leipzig etc in there, but maybe they will still have a fair crack every now and then. Lots to ponder and lots to still learn... but I'm not putting on my Doom and Gloom hat just yet - interesting times
  19. Got a brand new pair of Asic Gel Quantum 360 Knit in size 11 UK if anybody wants to take them off my hands. Will let them go for R1200, which is less than half of retail... Just sitting with far too many shoes, and far too little running
  20. Watched this last night... in all honesty, some of the personal views are interesting, but it's also largely hot air in my books with a pretty clear narrative to subtly paint poor Lance as the victim. Has the feel of two pals chatting over a beer trying to make Lance look a little better... and funny enough, just feels like the Oprah interview again, which they mention in this podcast didn't tick the box for the cycling fanatics, and what do you know, this didn't tick the box again. I do enjoy Joe's podcasts, some of them, but in this instance, he knows virtually nothing about cycling, about all the things Lance did, how far down the rabbit hole this man went. There's nothing there remotely worthwhile in substance on his making amends with people whose lives he literally destroyed... he just mentions he tried. Whatsapp message's: Hey Greg, sorry bru, pity I buried your bike brand, super sincerely, Lance Hey Betsy, long time no chat. Sorry you had a decade of hell, here's 46 Livestrong bangles. Super sorry, Lance. I respect your views and always enjoy our engagements, but I think it's fair to say we should agree to disagree here. You're clearly a fan of the man, and I won't hold my punches about not being in his corner. Viva the Son of Rudy
  21. The irony of this post is next level... I'm getting psycho-analyzed by a complete stranger who knows virtually nothing about me or my views. I tip my hat to you and will take my leave
  22. I'll have a listen... have made a point not to support Lance's post riding career (he loses a lot of sleep about this apparently!!!) - so I avoid podcasts etc of his, but I'll give it a try. 100% agree we all live and learn, but I also know there are certain things about people that don't change, and outside of someone who knows Lance personally, we all only see what they want us to see and what is best for their careers... I'll get back to you on this
  23. I'm not sure we're quite on the same page here.. but answered best I could above
