  1. Physical and mental beast... I still miss his psychology articles from Ride Mag. Mental game on a completely different level to most - was always cool and a little mind-blowing to get his insights... Wonder if he will give Munga a proper crack one of these years, but it might be a bit on the short side for him Very worthy holder of the record... Mr Dreyer, the ball is in your court (and of course let's not forget Jeannie!)
  2. Awesome, will follow with interest! Wish you guys all the best, it's a tough industry for sure - but it's also extremely fulfilling work, hope you can crack the balance! Gooi mielies
  3. How the people coming up with these rules can have so little understanding of the actual game is completely insane... still fuming about that Newcastle Penalty. Imagine trying to jump at a corner against Andy Carrol, but you can't use your arms at all Some pretty crazy results over the weekend too... Leicester tactics spot on against City and West Ham surprised everyone against a very tired looking Wolves. Liverpool already looking like they might well run away with it again. Strange that City have done so little business when they have quite a few glaring problems. Have the oil merchants lost interest?
  4. We did this for years after the Jock when we sponsored it... Anatomic Watt Challenge. Bike riders full weight (bike and rider) and their age all taken into account along with their time. Was good fun and games!
  5. Getting a bit excited at the idea of Son and Bale playing off of Kane... Spurs to win the league Guess it might be a few weeks still until we actually see them all playing together, but the signings have already given the whole squad a bit of a lift from the look of things. Was a bit of a Son/Kane masterclass in the second half. Southampton slow to adapt though... kept pushing that high line and being punished. You can see how Leicester hit them for 9 Enjoyed the Utd result.... Palace are a team you can't give a lead to, they'll pick you off all day long and they are well drilled by old Woy
  6. Yip... top top drawer, and a bit different to their current midfield options - will make them quite a lot stronger in my books
  7. Bale to Spurs... flip I would love that. If it happens, I know we aren't paying over the odds because of who our chairman is, and it would be the massive pick me up our whole squad needs. Too many players cruising at the moment... and Bale still has quite a few good years ahead in my books. All this rest on the Real bench might have done him the world of good Front three of Kane, Son and Bale isn't half bad... and hopefully a re-invigorated Dele playing in just behind them. Also looks like we might nick the Sevilla (Real) left back who would give us much better balance down either flank... Then I want to see Mourinho complaining
  8. Strongs Cois... you're a fighter like few others - you've got this! This too shall pass
  9. If anyone is looking for some rental space in Northcliff, we have 40 square meters, split into basically 3 nice sunny offices, available on the first floor in our building on Beyers Naude for R5k a month... Would be ideal for something cycling/sport related as it's next door to Cycle Fit and above our Anatomic factory shop... Drop me a pm if you would like any more info. Space can be ready within a week or so. We will also have some more space available on the top floor within the month or so should more space be required... Cheers Andrew
  10. Interesting first week in the Prem... Leeds showed they will add a lot, glad to see that. Bielsa/Poch style very apparent and good to see! Other two promoted teams looked pretty poor if I'm honest - long seasons ahead. Nice to see Newcastle looking half decent too... Bruce doing solid work there and some good recruiting. Mourinho still stinking out the place at Spurs... How you can take a team with Harry Kane and Son and make them look so impotent is beyond me. If there were crowds in the stadiums, he probably would have been fired already. He's usually good in his second seasons with clubs, but the whining was already on full throttle yesterday... It's obviously early days, but less than ideal start. We were terrible with the ball, and Everton, although much improved, made us look very very poor. The players don't seem to know what the plan is and all look gatvol already Get Poch Back
  11. This is truly amazing... I will celebrate this momentous occasion with a couple ice cold Hoegaardens later. The world already feels a better place
  12. Having been bike-jacked myself, I have to agree... you really don't have any time to react. Unless you are seriously well trained and very aware at all times, you're going to struggle to get that gun out unless it is very easily accessible and you read the situation very early. And having a gun in the mix immediately escalates the situation many fold, I think we're all sick of these bastards, but no bike is worth losing your life over. Leave the heroics for the guys who walk out of these situations 9 out of 10 times... For the rest of us, insure, ride in groups when you can, and live to ride another day
  13. Afraid so... Thanks for the sentiments guys, it's not me out of a job, but two lovely folk - I'm not sure you'd meet nicer. The shops never made great economic sense, we used them more for marketing and showrooms - but in times like these with still so much uncertainty around events for some time ahead, it was sadly inevitable.
  14. Unfortunately you're going to need to get cosy with our online store pretty soon Chris Thursday will be the last day of trade for the Cape Town branch. Just not feasible to keep it open in the current economy. Shops open 9am-5pm from Mon - Thurs if there are also last bargains you want to grab...
  15. Thanks for the kind words and support - appreciated. We will be upping our game with the online store heading forward as well as we re-shape our business model a bit
  16. Sadly also the last day of trading for our Cape Town store this Weds Sadly just have to streamline our business model in these challenging times. Will be putting more resources and time into the online store heading forward... Thanks again to everyone for the support in these challenging times
  17. Very sad... healthy, strong man, gone too soon Cancer she is an ugly bitch
  18. Messi to City to join back up with Pep? That would actually be spectacular... just imagine him and De Bruyne in tandem
  19. Bayern deservedly the champs of Europe... but PSG could certainly have taken it. Silva going to Chelsea from the looks of it... they are seriously putting together a team there! You would never have thought he was 36 either... still looks to have a few good years ahead of him!
  20. Honestly boet - where do you get off having an opinion based on your own personal experience... shame on you!
  21. Should be a cracking final... PSG versus Bayern (of course Lyon might have other ideas) Two insanely good attacks with weaker defenses... just the way I like my finals Sevilla vs Inter also a very interesting one... Inter should win in my books, but this is Sevilla and the Europa league, they own the t-shirt... and certainly know how to get over the finish line
