  1. I am under correction but I think around the 7K mark. 2012 Complete bike with Ultegra and FSA SLK Carbon Crank a few months ago at LBS here in Durban was going for around 21K.
  2. I would say if you running around the 85kg mark and want a 60cm frame, Cannondale would be at the top of my list. The CAAD 10 frame is probably lighter than most mid range carbon frames. Its a brilliant frame at a great price. I hear you about wanting Carbon, but IMO the CAAD 10 for your weight and height would be the bomb. I weigh 90 odd kg's and am 6foot 2". Havent had a days hassle with my 14 year old CAAD 3.
  3. That there is a piece of racing history. Forgot about those crazy Scott "Drop-in" bars... And those Time pedals were the pedals to have. Good memories, Nice one..

    Amashova 2013

Well done to everyone, was definitely one of the hardest Amashova's in a while. Cold and windy, saw a lot more accidents this year mainly because of cross winds and big bunches. Rode 2.59.07, was very happy with a sub 3 in that weather.... And guess what, today is a stunning day in Durban...

    Amashova 2013

Starting A batch. Will be wearing Bring it on club kit and riding a Matt Black/Green/white Cannondale.
  6. They sell directly from their website only and do not ship to SA. Real pity, they have some nice bikes.
  7. Nice. Just seen Columbus are doing XCr Stainless tubing that can be lugged. Reckon that would be an awesome build, specially for us along the coast line. Excited about the new grades of steel available.
  8. What steel has been used for the build?
  9. For me its a bit of nostalgia, I come from the late '80's and school boy road racing. We all rode steel, so I guess I hang onto that a little. I also like the idea that steel is hand made, by a skilled artisan who has a passion for what he does. In a world of mass produced goods from places like China, I just like that there are still people out there that have the skill and passion. Also love the detail of steel, specially lugged frames, no Carbon or Aluminium can do that.
  10. Awesome to see Steel frames being made in SA again. I come from an Era when we only had SA built steel available to buy. Wishing them all the best. May even be tempted to add a "modern" SA built steel bike to my collection.
  11. Yeah agree, save up and rather buy something like Easton EA 70 or EA 90's. Use them as race wheels, this way your existing wheels can take the damage and wear caused by training. The Shimano's would be a backwards move IMO.
  12. Do some research on the frame. I have one like that, just an earlier model. I am taking mine back to the original colour. I also managed to get replica decals. Send me a PM and I will chat to you over email. Just don't do anything until you are certain of the bikes history. Ie. Approximate circa and the colours scheme's for it.
  13. It has been repainted by the looks of it. Paint isn't original, nor are the decals.
  14. That my friend is a Colnago Master Piu. Looks like an early '90s model. The Master Piu was identified by the internal rear brake cable. IMO not a bike to be built up as a single speed. It's probably Colnago' s most famous frames. Won many many races and world championships.
  15. Now that's a name you don't hear of everyday... Built some of the nicest steel frames...
  16. Tyre wear is like riding on the road, except you have 2 points of contact at the rear wheel. Unlike an Indoor Trainer, the weight of you and your bike generate the friction. An Indoor Trainer's roller gets forced onto the rear wheel. You can do anything on Rollers, ride with no hands, etc. You just have to build confidence on them. Take things slowly and you will be amazed at just how easy they become.
  17. The man (Tony) is a legend in his own right.... Awesome stuff. He must be one seriously proud father.
  18. Alex Zulla Era... Nice one
  19. I have just lost all control..... Freak love those Delta's
  20. Don't you just love the "Marble" effect paint jobs of the '80's/90's... Awesome Stuff 'Dale
  21. The R350.00 license also allows one to take part in Provincial and national Championships. So if you are a rider who rides big events like Argus, 94.7 but does not want to ride SA's then the R75.00 will do just fine.
  22. Exactly, do they forget Yates' background and history. Possibly the best Super Domestique in the history of the tour. I would say he knows a thing or two about what it takes to compete.
  23. Wiggins should have rather left, that way Froome would have been the deserved winner and would have by now had 2 titles under his belt. It was a joke watching Froome just riding away from him.
  24. Loving this bike, Its steel and its a Colnago Master... I just am not sure on those wheels. Looks like the guy has taken a paint marker and scribbled on them, he has even gone onto the breaking surface. Just my Opinion..
  25. Hi Javadude, It is your old Master I have Campag for sure, just haven't decided Chorus or Record. Also haven't decided on an older 9 or 10 Speed group set (not so easy to come by) Or a new 11 Speed. Fortunately i have a 130mm rear spacing that will take a modern wheel set-up. Will have to see what the budget says. At the moment I will have to wait a while.
