  1. It amazes me that people are trying to justify why cyclists/pedestrians are being hit and killed. Take a step back people and listen to what you are saying, we are killing people, fathers, mothers, children. Yet people like Jerome think if they can justify it, its all ok. We have dehumanized ourselves, they are in our way so if we have to kill them to get to where we are going so be it, accidents happen. Only reason accidents happen is if someone has done something wrong, cyclist or motorist, but they don't just happen. We are talking about taking human lives as if it were just another obstacle in the way. Hope the lady involved has a speedy recovery. Hope the driver gets what he deserves.
  2. Anything Cannondale, but my personal favourite Colnago Master (Cant beat steel)
  3. Take a look at the links. I have a 1988 Cannondale "Black Lightning" built as a SS, I used these cranks and chain tensioner, both brilliant. You can also use a "half link" chain and do away with a chain tensioner. I would say Trek use an English BB Thread. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17724 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=75323 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=31089
  4. Wheels without a doubt. Dave Wiseman always told me buy the best, lightest, strongest wheels you can afford. They make more difference that anything else on your bike.
  5. Easton EA 70 (±R4000.00) Easton EA 90 SLX (±R7000.00)
  6. I broke mine the 8th December 2011 (plated it the right away) and was back on the road bike 5 weeks later. Started to MTB about 12 weeks after accident, but felt nervous. Rode Sani2C this year. But to be honest Collarbone still doesn't feel totally normal. Have very sensitive skin around the area due to nerve damage.
  7. Reall value for money would be a Silverback Space with Ultegra ±R17000.00 (Brilliant Backup Service) And the trusty Cannondale CAAD 10 (Bulletproof) Join a club close to you.
  8. Have a look at the Pro PLT range.
  9. I use the milking cream Works the best. Used it for Sani2C this year, never a hassle, and its cheap.
  10. I Agree with Johan Borman. We use Red Rubber grease at work for Pneumatics and Hydraulics in our factory. Never had any issues. I service my DT Swiss M210 rear shock and always use Red Rubber grease, no hassle to date.
  11. Hi There is only 1 bike for large riders Cannondale. Look for an old Cad 3 or Caad 5, super strong frames.
  12. I was looking for Mavic rims for my road bike, couldn't see anything on their site. I emailed them and they told me they have an agreement with Mavic that they don't sell anything Mavic to South Africa. All I can think of is the local importers have been complaining about their local sales. I presume the same goes for RaceFace.
  13. Powder coating is great, but I have been told by a few guys to not do it on Aluminium frames. The heat they bake the powder at messes with the tubing and weld areas, running the risk of cracking the frame in those areas.
  14. My custom Cannondale Cad3 Original paint peeled off so had it resprayed. No Decals, all spray painted on.
  15. Bactroban ointment its the best, doesn't leave horrible scaring from drying out.
  16. Awesome find. Keep it original, paint still looks good, for the scratched areas go to someone that does really good airbrushing, they will be able to tidy those areas up. You could restore but it would loose value. I would say keep it as it is, I have seen loads of Treviso road bikes, but not a track bike. As for the pedals, most track guys in the day preferred to use toe clips and double straps. So I would say those pedals wouldn't have been used on that bike.
