  1. Thanks man, will keep your offer in mind. Waiting on my employer to confirm location, may also be in Auckland. Location is important for schooling, so the school selected may dictate the home.
  2. Anybody need a set of side wheels, free to a good home. In Pretoria.
  3. Also struggled with our girl on pedals, she got off of the side wheels quickly but the pedalling took her 3 or 4 rides to get right. That being said, probably quicker than most as she has her older brother to emulate. She is flying now, just can't take off and land on her own due to seat height and leg length. She rockets now though, often gets speed wobbles when her speed on the SS exceeds the gear ratio.......
  4. Way to pretty for a step, would have thought it is a coffee table, or some sort of table..... Well done.
  5. Awesome man, asking as I may need assistance with looking at potential accommodation. Daunting doing it from afar.
  6. I listen to the Highside Lowside podcast, linked to Revzilla, they did an episode last year some time and spoke of iPhone failures when mounted on bikes. This with fancy mounts, etc. Just something to bear in mind. It also buggers up the camera stabilization gryo's I believe. Always nervous when I see guys with a R25k+ phone on a mount, stopped at a traffic light. So easy for some random local to snatch and run.........
  7. Anyone here in the Windy Welly area?
  8. Agreed, I have purchased a repaired carbon frame, but knew of it going in and therefore paid accordingly. It did then crack on the same spot and I had it repaired again. I then fell, had it break on a different spot altogether and then called it quits. I think the value of the asset following a repair would definitely need to be a consideration for the insurer surely.
  9. Agreed, easy to tempt people into "disappearing" an asset in lieu of receiving more cash than they would have received selling the asset. Reality is, with depreciation, some of these items are worth more stolen than sold.......
  10. Thanks man, assuming this is per person or do they do a family cover? We will be travelling on March/April 2023 most probably, never felt the need to take out travel insurance but given the uncertainties and risks it seems like it may be worth looking into.
  11. What were the costs for insurance @Wayne Potgieter, if I may ask?
  12. So I am not trying to say that a HD is a tractor, but...........https://www.muttonpower.com/product/2832/john-deere-air-filter-m47494
  13. I agree, communication again at the initial stages of the sale. R100 buys a 3-5day drop off service service. But if you pay me R500 and I will drop it off tomorrow. Simple. Often charging more for the shipping will lose you the sale, so i agree that the term 'Shipping at buyers expense' warrants clarification when communicated with a prospective buyer.
  14. I think upfront communication to avoid unrealistic expectations is key. If you use Courier Guy it would still mean packaging and having the item ready for collection. I think this speaks to a general impatience, everything needs to happen now. I have advertised items, then get asked if it is available. I say yes and they say they want to collect now. I am at work now, the item is at home so you can collect after 5pm and sometimes this is an issue. People are complicated.............
  15. We have a 4yr old girl but she is learning so quickly from her older brother. Took us literally a day to get her off of her training wheels. I now know of a winning trick if anyone is keen........... We did it in the road (when it is quiet), using the centre line. I held onto the back of her seat (prepare for LOTS of running) and then just told her non stop "stay on the line" while she pedals along!!! Up and down a hundred times (literally), slowly let go of the seat for short bursts and quickly they are riding on their own. You only have to assist them to get going and when they stop. That look of pride from them doing this themselves for the first time is priceless. Worked a treat!!
  16. That is the toughest part, finding the time to go cycling whenever they want to. We are pretty much bound to weekends only, just no way around working till 5pm and then needing to cook, bath, etc. Sucks, but thats life.
  17. I think Black Friday really loaded the system. Also struggled but all good from Sunday again.
  18. One thing I can add is our son had an Avalanche Antix (20inch) which is a single speed bicyle. Basic bicycle which has a rigid fork and V-brakes but the deal breaker is the single speed setup which is geared very high. It was fine on the road but made it difficult for him to get going as the first pedal is tough, add to that trying to get your other foot onto the pedal while having enough momentum and that adds up to plenty of falls. Especially if the road is even slightly inclined. We sold the Antix at a huge loss to buy a used Titan which was a significant upgrade. Disc brakes (cable not hydraulic), front fork (more for bragging rights) and a 7speed gearset with twist grip. I have not yet taught him shifting but it is nice putting into a lower gear and letting him ride more comfortably. Even built a ramp we can set up on grass, that he loves> "Dad lets hit the ramp again please...."
  19. Bloody impressive!!!! Available locally??
  20. Every shop has their niche, Solomon's is an in person shopping experience I think. They do tend to have a lot of old stock laying around and this is where the bargaining comes into play I think.
  21. links please.
  22. That feeling when the air hits your vagina while riding must be very distracting Hairy............
  23. Speed limit in that zone is??? Nevermind, answered later on. Apologies
  24. That sucks man. Justice delayed is justice denied. Assuming it is evidence based, someone not being ready possibly?
  25. Staying put for December ourselves. No travelling. Safe travels to those able to, and post pics please.
