  1. He took home the R250k prize at the Whitelightening bike show a week or 2 ago for this bike. Wonder what the price tag is? Also I can't see your replica Ferrari pics.
  2. Our son used his Chillafish balance bike at the Wolvespruit pumptrack when he was that age. Amazed the people around us as he dropped in a ramped the first hump, then turned around and did it again and again. Wipe out, dust himself off and carry on while the other parents went crazy. Got to raise them tough. He is now 6yrs old on a Titan 20inch and loving cycling. Never push and do it at their pace, as others have said. He is a proper boy though, tough as they come and fearless. Which kills the parents nerves but is also amazing to see.
  3. Man this sucks, sorry for your loss. In Pretoria so will keep an eye out but also keep an eye on Marketplace in case it pops up there. Set some notifications with keywords. Good luck.
  4. Just ride it around corners...............
  5. Off topic but still SAPS related. Waiting on 2 police clearances done on the same day. One has been ready for more than a week, as about the other and just get told "you must wait", when asking how long "as long as it takes I suppose". No pride anymore. There was a day where no stone would be left unturned to find this guy. Now you have to pay for it in the private sector. Sad.
  6. Probably has the receipt for the renewal, we all know how outdated the governments admin is..........
  7. Was approached by a clown pushing for PUDO payments via a FB ad. The minute you tell them "sure, I accept any payment, but no goods will be released till money is in and transferrable", they disappear......
  8. At the moment my rewards simply cover the costs of the Vitality itself. All the while having to meet all the requirements. Just starting to become more effort than it is worth. The D-day discounts are good but we don't need more things at the moment so its largely wasted, unless we spend more money. Not accumulating the miles that you are I think.
  9. They had the bike available but everyone was using the treadmill so went with that. 7.5km/hr. was quite quick but doable.
  10. We did ours 2 weeks ago. We did the health check, usual measurements for blood pressure, cholestrol, etc. The fitness assessment we only did a session with a Biokinetist (charged to our medical aid) and they made us do a brisk walk on a treadmill for 7mins or so. Was expecting a lot worse tbh. They also let us use our watches to track HR and mine seemed to be a bit iffy on the day, barely got above my average resting HR. Seemed a pointless exercise but doing it got us to Diamond so who knows. Also did it while considering cancelling Vitality, but it was offered free of charge by our broker.
  11. Highly doubt anything has been done, no charges laid against Lionel. I hope I am wrong.
  12. Depending on the individual, riding a "he", hard, every day is a bit strange...........
  13. I have always wondered why this doesn't happen more given the cost of clothing. The other one that I am always wondering is hijacking of shopping outside a supermarket, given the cost of food these days........ Hoping I am not given out any ideas here.
  14. The problem is most people don't know their policy, that is where a broker is often invaluable. Like you described, low premium but high excess or like Chris said there are suddenly clauses on what was disclosed and under what specific circumstances they will actually pay out. The other thing is paying for full price cover, in your case R120k, then at claim time they value the bike at less and you have been paying "inflated" premiums for nothing. I am in the same boat, everything at Discovery except my insurance. They just cannot get close to my premiums, plus I don't need to conform to their (Discovery) unrealistic driving expectations.
  15. That's the risk you run, trying something with no intention to buy it but then fall in love with it. Worse yet if you don't have the means to buy it and have to live knowing you will never have it..........
  16. Is that you offerering fellow hubber motorcyclists a test ride on yours @WaynejG??
  17. You could try the cestpool that is FB Marketplace, good luck though. The advice above is probably best but also SA is struggling, less disposable income, these niche/specific products take time to shift. And condolences for the passing of your dad. Strength to your mom too.
  18. Love how in South Africa nobody bats an eyelid when you use "has been stolen" as opposed to "might be stolen". Also "when" and not "if"..............
  19. Pity you aren't JHB based, could have assisted with adding some rivnuts for bottle mounts, if you don't mind drilling the frame that is.
  20. Tyres need to support it too I suppose.
  21. Have some riding gear we are looking to get rid off, decluttering. Helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, etc. If anyone is keen drop me a PM and I can share details.
  22. All good man, nice bike. Hope you have many happy miles on it, and Happy Birthday!!!
  23. Very nice, like the trail pedals..... or look like they are.
  24. I see this as a solution to a problem that is not there but also creating a big ass problem when that fails and you cannot straighten your bars, possibly......... The play on words in the name is ironic in that sense because it is anything but simple.
