  1. The thing I love about cycling the most? Making your own solutions to occasional problems. The ghetto tubeless bomb. Compressor is in storage but tubeless tyres still need to be mounted. 1 2.25l coke bottle, 1 removable core valve, 1 normal valve, 1m 6mm hose, 1 hose clamp, 1 6mm drill bit and a bit of silicon. Pinch hose. Connect hose to wheel. Pump to 100 psi. Unpinch hose. Listen to the pop as tubeless tyre sets. Credits: Bike Radar
  2. You don't honestly think Greg Minnaar was appointed to their board for his vast experience in the cycle distribution business, do you?
  3. Yes. I only think of the foods with the V on the till slip. I'll run a check over the next few months, keeping all till slips. What a bore.
  4. Yes, healthy is a few nuts, fruit and veg only. The numbers are wrong. R62 cash back indicates R250 spend for month. 48% indicates total spend of R500 for month. Only someone who hasn't paid at the till recently would accept you can feed a family of 4 vegetarians on R250 fruit and veg or R500 total food a month.
  5. Are genuine questions about Vitality benefits only allowed to be asked on Fridays in this thread?
  6. I'm going to write an app to check my disco Healthyfood cash back each month. No doubt I'm being ripped off. According to disco I spent around R250 on fruit and veg and a total food shop of just over R500 for the month. I wish my credit card used at PnP agreed with a R500. I wonder what we ate all month. Anyone ever check this against till slips?
  7. I sorted Hulu ages ago, it works with no problems on the Fire TV, Smart TV and PC in DNS set to unotelly. No amazon content available despite US address and US credit card. In devices country is set to US, in payment country is set to US, in delivery country is set to US. Next I'll remove all SA cards from payment system. Unotelly has an acknowledged problem with Fire TV DNS set on the unit so I'll try another DNS/VPN server when the weather turns non beach weather in the Cape.
  8. Stretch, my Fire TV has arrived but now I'm stuck with a noob problem. When browsing I see Prime is offered to me as TV to watch while abroad. I set the DNS to Unotelly which works on my PC and Smart TV but does not appear to be working on the Amazon Fire TV. Country in amazon account settings in set to US. Any suggestions?
  9. Time to swap to Elite High Performance Endurance Super Duper Hard Man Athlete on Vitality for the holidays and new year as I'll earn my smoothie in 2 holiday rides of 120 minutes at 70%, then in the new year I'll klap the 30,000 before reverting to basic piss poor athlete for rest of the year. Assuming one can go back to piss poor athlete.
  10. In principle I'm not paying $11.99 to Netflix for the watered down SA DSTV dictated offering. Prefer Hulu anyway as more current stuff on it. Bought Amazon Prime as I saved a shedload of delivery fees by doing that. Ans in principle Showmax is a non starter in my home. Again it's the DSTV link.
  11. DSTV/Multichoice pretends to fight back with better content and fewer repeats. http://www.channel24.co.za/TV/News/you-complained-about-dstv-repeats-and-they-answered-20161206 Interestingly DSTV has changed their online offering over the past 5 or 6 weeks, dropped Flash and moved to HTML5. The Desktop player has been canned so it is no longer possible to download shows and watch later. At work and play them at home? But real issues with live sports streaming. It is impossible to watch an EPL game live without buffering or losing the feed completely when on now.dstv.com while watching on supersport.com is no longer an option. Most of the live feeds just do not load. Oh, and I bought an Amazon Fire TV. I think that's what it's called. I look forward to plugging it in in a few weeks time and being able to see a bit more British drama as that's not on any of the streaming sites I use.
  12. No it's not. It's theft.
  13. Any feedback on the swift action demanded? Other than another taxi and another death on Thursday at Nooitgedacht.
  14. I imagine the limiting factor is the need for the latest Garmin devices (1000, 820) with the correct features to support the app. Apart from that the idea is pretty solid. http://www.join.cc/
  15. Clearly only you think you have an OCD brain. If you had one you would would not know.
  16. All sorted by ASO insisting their data partner have a team in WT. End of story.
  17. You going to stay with your team past Suurbraak this year?
  18. I already have a browser to do that. Can't see the point of loading something else just to run it on the PC.
  19. With this so called Black Friday BS now in full swing I was hoping the 4 of you could provide a quick summary of what is currently the best working solution for dedicated streaming from all the options discussed over the previous 52 pages. I currently have 3 dedicated PC/Laptops that the family use linked via HDMI to TV screens using live browser based sites. We do download stuff and store it on a central server to playback, either through a media player or on smart TV. It works but I get the feeling there is a better way. Have unlimited 40Mbps access.
  20. It's the money, honey. Nothing else matters when the cash dictates a change of policy. Vermaak can post all he likes on Facebook trying to justify that GH doped before the ban introduced by Vermaak. The fact is he is welcoming one of the biggest cheats in cycling with open arms to his event. Like almost everyone in cycle race organisation and administration worldwide Vermaak pays lip service to stamping out doping when it really matters. But it is privately owned event and they can accept who they want. That is the privilege of starting and owning your own event.
  21. Last to team to roll out of the starting blocks, Active Bodies, for the win. Came 2nd last year as Tag Heuer something by a second to the then MTN Qhubeka.
  22. You seem to forget how powerful the taxi lobby is. After all they were instrumental in our current president getting elected to lead his party at the 2007 conference. And we all know how he rewards that sort of thing. Luckily in Cape Town taxis appear to be the most bike aware of all drivers. Certainly in central city and the southern suburbs.
