  1. I present to you some alternatives...
  2. Its actually a great idea, all those abandoned stations could be transformed into overnite stops, local traders could offer snack stops along the line, group tours can be arranged, the opportunities are endless....then I woke up....???????? I might create a new "sport"...bikerail hijacking...
  3. It is, not sure it can be safely done at home but imagine doing the old narrow gauge rail from PE to CTN...along the coast at Nature's Valley, Vic Bay...would be awesome! Here's another take on the same idea...but I reckon the platform is so much better, I would rig up a tent on it and just sleep right there! With 2 up, you can take turns and get a brew going while the other cycles!????
  4. Awesomeness...
  5. Desert sunset gravel..."Just follow the stones" he said...err riiiggghhtttt...the desert floor is littered with stones...ah well, some free-riding was done!
  6. Ja, buyer beware, I don't know the other 2 watches advertised under Military Watches but the one claimed to be a Gagarin...the facts are correct but the watch depicted has no branding and almost 100% not this watch...he wore a 33mm Sturmanskie from the 1st Military Watch Company which has been re-issued a number of times over the years, like the limited edition 40mm here:.. and costs a little more than the current offer of R140.00.150.00..you'll get what you pay for...#justsaying
  7. I think that is the old Orangekloof road, tried to get through there once from the top in the early days, there's a boom and gate at the top entrance in the Nek carpark and some serious looking ou's working for the govverrmint (I think) behind that gate...snuck through and past a few govvermint type houses but ran into massive fences at the bottom end of that gravel road where it joins the big bend of Hout Bay main road opposite that new Constantia Nek Estates....had to beat my way through the eucalyptus forest back to the main road cause I was bang of these okes back at the gate....Would love to see some trails/features in the forest down there, there's some serious gradient!!!
  8. How's that frame pack perform ie waterproof?
  9. Duhail "Jump Park"...testament to the desperation of bikers to create something out of nothing!????
  10. Back in the desert...
  11. Velosock .....! ????
  12. One more thing make sure the wheel/tyre is not close in the line of fire of your exhaust......irrepairable damage can ensue!????
  13. Ja, oh that I know! And look if we gonna compare us weekend plonkers to that geezer, then we must just actually sell up and join the chess club... Word has it that he cannot secure a tyre sponsor cause he only has one set the entire season due to the fact that he does not keep the rubber to the road/dirt!! So much air time, they don't wear out????. And his suspension sponsor is rethinking their deal!!!! ????
  14. Like the man said...50Rondelas....not bad, we only did the flow trail but I imagine there's lots more so price is "OK"...Jonkers is still at R50...now there's bang 4 yr buck!!
  15. Wine country is fast becoming bike country....
  16. Somewhere in wine country
  17. Sometimes the fun is on your doorstep...
  18. This ride is one of the most visually stunning routes in the country....even if you in the area for a few days, try get it done, midweek, mid-morning....
  19. Some of these shots look like French country-side!!!
  20. Its a frame from a video clip so thoughtless process until I played it back...seemed to "frame" the moment????...
  21. Been yonks since I was at Jonkers.... Last fire has completely wiped out most of the forest in the riding area but trails are running as sweet as ever! 50bucks gets you World class riding on our doorstep!
  22. Sir Lowry's Pass "cycling lane" is predominantly occupied by the following groups: 18 wheelers with no F*cks given Slow cherries spewing smoke Okes on their mobiles checking the latest WhatsApp group chat Taxis taking the inside NO CYCLIST in their right mind...ever.... So Ja I reckon any route in GP would be safer than this one.... Besides, not mentioned here, last I heard, cyclists are not allowed on freeways like the M3, M5, N1 and N2 in and near Cape Town...true/not true?
  23. Please shed some light on this bike....!
