  1. Birthday unicycle has been approved. Much easier than I thought. Having second thoughts though now that my usual impulsive compulsive excitement has worn down a bit. Did a bit of research and it sounds like 24" wheels are the ones to go for if you are planning on doing anything more adventurous than riding along a pavement. This one looks like the business though I'm sure once you've been posted, VATted and Dutied it'll be a whole lot more than 90 quid. http://www.unicycle.uk.com/unicycles-1/learner/learner24/24-trainer-unicycle.html Maybe this one. http://www.unicycle.co.za/index.php?option=com_jhshop&shoppage=Unicycles/Adult-Learner-Unicycles/QU-AX-LUXUS-24
  2. This one looks the business-on-a-budget. http://www.unicycle.co.za/index.php?option=com_jhshop&shoppage=Unicycles/Adult-Learner-Unicycles/QU-AX-LUXUS-20
  3. I'm def going to get strange looks from the wife when I request my next birthday present...something acting my shoe size and all. Looking forward to chasing her around the house on it...watch this space! Hey Slowbee maybe we can get bulk discount? I reckon once you master that beast it'll be a perfect match speed wise for the young'un on his scoot bike.
  4. Hey Johnny Reggae, which of the uni's on the oddwheel website would you recommend for someone that wanted to learn...I see quite a few in the region of R850 - R1200 so I guess one of those. Not for Muni....just plain Uni... you catch my drift. Maybe something a kid could also use once they get bigger unless there's no such thing. What's the short and sweet on wheel size and other things to look out for when buying one? OK just saw this. http://www.unicycle.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=148&Itemid=202 What about frame material, seat, bumpers, adjustability and all that..what would you look out for?
  5. Looks like my kinda ride that. Have always wanted to master a Uni, you would have needed a perlemoen lever to get that thing out of my hands after a few beers. Concussion would probably have worked too.
  6. Where's the studio and what times are the afternoon sessions?
  7. Lucky bastard. Loving those "sandman" bikes, never seen them before...very cool.
  8. Are those forks available for 29ers?
  9. Hey DV, I assume you are running the Alfine Gear hub. Have you used it offroad at all and if so, how do you find it? I've been toying with the idea of having an Alfine wheel built up for my SS but was wondering how it would handle serious abuse.

    JD Bug

Here's the JD Bug. http://dragonsza.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-jd-bug-trainer-bikes.html I like the new little KTM plastic ones...Ratty's kid has one..any idea how much they go for?
  11. Loved the ride, awesome. Felt shorter than 35 K's though, did anyone check the distance?
  12. As a matter of interest, how many riders go through the gate at Tokai on an average weekend day or over a month at the moment?
  13. I did my own stunt on Sat, pretty much exactly like the one in the pic. Cracked helmet and bruised ego. Doing my own stunt ended up being not nearly as much fun as I thought it would be. I like the shirt though!
  14. Only Mod I have an issue with right now is RodTi who STILL hasn't posted a proper pic of his SS! [ I've just put myself in the corner about this one... Sun's out this weekend - will make a plan]
  15. Banna? https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/4967-2007-giant-reign-1-frame-pike-fork-for-sale/
  16. I've got one of those handlebar bags you can use if you promise to bring me back one of those TdF Podium babes. PM me if you want to talk.
  17. Looking fannytastic over there, have always liked naked bikes.
  18. How about this one Banna? Make him an offer he can't refuse... https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/4731-rocky-mountain-slayer-30-medium/
  19. Hairy I've got a 140mm Revelation on my Heckler and it's plenty, you can't go wrong with that 150mm fork you won't regret it!
  20. This is quite an interesting article ... http://www.bikeradar.com/fitness/article/skills-qa-how-to-stay-straight-off-jumps-24040
  21. I suspect it's the 6 inch itch.
  22. That looks brilliant...have been thinking about doing same on my old hardtail but knowing myself I'll probably end up with the frame half stripped done hanging in the garage for the rest of it's days and paint stripper all over everything else within splashing distance. Is it necessary to get a clear coat done or can it be left as is? If so, what will the clear coat set you back if you get someone to do it or is it easy enough to do yourself with a couple of cans of spray?
  23. Nicely. What wheels did you settle on in the end?
  24. If this proves to be reliable it is certainly something I would like to make use of.
  25. Your Wednesday missions sound like a great mid-weeker. I've got some lekker lights up front and can see where I'm going fine...more concerned about getting tail ended at the moment.
