  1. These won't break the bank. www.thehubsa.co.za/forum/classifieds/ad/19228-26-inch-wheelset/
  2. Lerouc I have a set of WTB Lazerdisc Trail on XT hubs I'm not using you can take a look at if ure keen...am at home couch bound with a broken ankle at the moment so give me a buzz and make a plan. If you want u can use the front wheel till you get yours sorted as long as its not forever and as long as you don't fall this one in its chops as well...you chops it you bought it. My number is Oh eight freee seex ate seben free for seben naain.
  3. I cracked my Trek Fuel EX8 2008 model. Just Fun sports replaced it with the 2011 Fuel EX9 frame and included a BB30 and new headset to fit my non-tapered steered and normal external BB. Yes it took a hell of a long time for them to settle the replacement claim but I was very pleasantly surprised and happy when they, without putting up a fight about it supplied the parts I needed to make my old components work on the new frame. If your LBS is charging you more than R300 to rebuild the bike try using mine...PM me for details. Anyway it's a small price to pay for a bike that looks brand new and in the case of a dually you score with new pivots, shock etc as well. Enjoy your new ride.
  4. Hope you're OK Tank....Bastards!
  5. Probably not the best time to be doing it but you're better off buying one off Gumtree or TheHub, I bought a Holdfast stand-on three bike rack for R1000.00 complete with lights and number plate board so look around, you should find something....you may just get lucky.
  6. No joy on a Gobi. Best saddle I've used is On One's Bignose...cheap and cheerful and no ass damage after a 15 hour Trans Baviaans...wonderful. Got a Brooks B17 on my SS which is in a different world of comfort altogether but feel too sorry for it to use it in the wet months so it doesnt really count...
  7. Where did that happen Jan? Mate of mine has been jumped on the R44 on the last hill before SSW coming from Stellies side.
  8. Nice post Zeabre, keep up the good work. My commuting has been fairly eratic...as Hairy says, day three is usually the hardest and I take strain keeping my eyes open after dinner at night...but hell, when considering the alternative there is no nicer feeling than an early morning offroad ride on the way to work.
  9. Your wife says it's cool, want me to pick you up on the way through?
  10. All you hear all day long on the Hub is how great Grabouw is until I get the chance to go for a sneaky ride and then suddenly noone wants to speak to me. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/111010-grabouw-tomorrow-anyone/ Crikey what do I have to do to get someone...ANYONE...to come ride with me!??? Anyway off to Eden soon...the sweet holy mudbath awaits. Have a good one gents.
  11. Is this 40km MTO ride you refer to a marked route or do you just wing it? Other than in races I haven't ridden Grabouw forest in ages. Went to Oak Valley again two weeks ago and while good flowing I fun was a bit disappointed in the rush factor...nothing very technical there though I think that is the tip of the iceberg as to what is available in that area...I need to spend some time there with someone that knows it well. Jonkershoek offers some of the best variety for me. Eden is always a jol when you have two hours to kill...so much rollercoasterness.
  12. The Stellies slow food market is very lekker especially after working up a bit of a hunger on the bike. Nice weather forecast for the weekend...enjoy the boating while the conditions last as when the summer winds decide to pay us a visit there'll be boating no more unless it's a downwind surfski paddle or maybe an impromptu lilo journey from Gordons Bay to Fishoek.
  13. Nothing planned for the Sat after your big date in Jonkies....Keeping the options open in case things go well?
  14. Will it help if I promise to bring beer???
  15. Lonely....so lonely...
  16. Got a meeting in Grabouw tomorrow afternoon and thought seeing I'm there I may as well combine it with a bit of a spin from two thirty or three PM onwards...anyone keen?
  17. For sure! Can't wait.
  18. Nice bike Eldron, how about some pics and detail of the steel Niner hanging in the background over there? I've recently built my On One Inbred 29 SS over onto a Niner MCR frame and am lovin' it!
  19. Your username should have been "trying2getabottlecage"! Nice bike Sharky, you'd better be on or damn near the podium on that thing!
  20. Stunning. How does the ride compare to the Niner you had before?
  21. Cool little bike but you've GOT to get her off those toe-clip pedals...I destroyed the ligaments in my ankle wiping off a MTB with toeclips in the old days before SPD's became popular...front wheel wash-out on wet tar...I go one way...bike went the other...foot stuck in pedal...bad move - you lose.
  22. absolutely nothing wrong with that. not so sure about the bike though.
  23. THOMSON!!
  24. Where on the Firgrove Road was that Tank?
  25. Hey Treb that Flint looks great. I see it looks like you've found your magic gear without using a tensioner...how is that half link chain holding out though? I've done same on a Niner MCR and the tension was pretty good to start off with but looks like the chain wear is starting to take it's toll and I've lost a lot of tension and it's getting quite pap...will probably need to put a tensioner on at some stage. What the other bike BTW?
