  1. The Stellies slow food market is very lekker especially after working up a bit of a hunger on the bike. Nice weather forecast for the weekend...enjoy the boating while the conditions last as when the summer winds decide to pay us a visit there'll be boating no more unless it's a downwind surfski paddle or maybe an impromptu lilo journey from Gordons Bay to Fishoek.
  2. Nothing planned for the Sat after your big date in Jonkies....Keeping the options open in case things go well?
  3. Will it help if I promise to bring beer???
  4. Lonely....so lonely...
  5. Got a meeting in Grabouw tomorrow afternoon and thought seeing I'm there I may as well combine it with a bit of a spin from two thirty or three PM onwards...anyone keen?
  6. For sure! Can't wait.
  7. Nice bike Eldron, how about some pics and detail of the steel Niner hanging in the background over there? I've recently built my On One Inbred 29 SS over onto a Niner MCR frame and am lovin' it!
  8. Your username should have been "trying2getabottlecage"! Nice bike Sharky, you'd better be on or damn near the podium on that thing!
  9. Stunning. How does the ride compare to the Niner you had before?
  10. Cool little bike but you've GOT to get her off those toe-clip pedals...I destroyed the ligaments in my ankle wiping off a MTB with toeclips in the old days before SPD's became popular...front wheel wash-out on wet tar...I go one way...bike went the other...foot stuck in pedal...bad move - you lose.
  11. absolutely nothing wrong with that. not so sure about the bike though.
  12. THOMSON!!
  13. Where on the Firgrove Road was that Tank?
  14. Hey Treb that Flint looks great. I see it looks like you've found your magic gear without using a tensioner...how is that half link chain holding out though? I've done same on a Niner MCR and the tension was pretty good to start off with but looks like the chain wear is starting to take it's toll and I've lost a lot of tension and it's getting quite pap...will probably need to put a tensioner on at some stage. What the other bike BTW?
  15. Absolutely! PS Thanks for the route description.
  16. What is / was the course like? Generally the riding there is fairly flat and not too technical except for that new bottom loop on the black route...32 x 18 OK?
  17. Cool...circus ss this year or dually again? We rode there yesterday and I was wondering what the course was like...climby, technical etc?
  18. Who of you guys are planning on doing this? Myself and More Wood (again...the guy, not the bike!) are keen and it would be pretty keen to build a kraal with some of the other hubbers to help keep us sane.
  19. Hairy's been slack posting pics of his commute so I thought it's time to revive the thread. Had a legend ride with my mate More Wood (the guy...not the bike!) on our way to work...what a way to start the day. Just too darn happy to be on the way to work...Clown bikes....just can't stop circusing around on these damn things.
  20. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/105745-uber-cyclist/page__hl__uber+cyclist Mine's currently hanging unused in the garage...kindof lost inspiration...was a gift from the wifey though else you'd find it in the classifieds right now.
  21. Does anyone know what the deal is with Specialized opening up a store in Stellies? I keep hearing rumours but wondering what the plans are and how it will affect the other shops in the area that are stocking their bikes.
  22. Kona Africa Bike - http://www.konaworld.com/asphalt_simplicity.cfm?content=africabike_three Not sure how you get these guys on board but worth a shot...great PR for them. http://www.konaworld.com/africabike.cfm
  23. William - Top bloke but since you are asking you'd want to look elsewhere if you want your bike sorted out in a hurry and want some cash left in your wallet upon leaving. Masons in Stellies or if I can't get there Malan at Cycle Addiction has been extremely helpful and the only bike shop that I have dealt with that has EVER replied to an email on the same day I sent it.
  24. Did you set your bonnet on fire?
  25. The road runners at the Winelands Marathon broke some sort of a littering record on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West on Saturday. I was so disgusted when I drove past that we looked up the organisers details and called him to please send someone to come and clean up their mess. I do not understand why the hell they cannot throw their water sachets into the bins provided. Makes me MAD!
