  1. Nice one Rock, you going single or geared? NB!!! Watch out for the lockout control on the top of the right hand side fork stantion, I put one of Kiwi's 29er forks on my Inbred last week and the little lockout control is too high and dinged the downtube of my frame. I've taken the remote lever off now to give it clearance. Had a carbon fork before, the M29 is over a kilo heavier but has transformed the bike....MUCH more user friendly now! XTC12010-01-01 13:01:57
  2. You're going to have way more fun on the Anthem.
  3. The bars are standard, I don't know the exact measurement but give or take a few millimeters they are MOER wide. Incredibly comfy...would like to try some Mary bars at some stage but these will do for now. XTC12009-12-09 04:33:13
  4. Thanks guys, I am really enjoying this bike! Being rigid it climbs a lot better or you make it up much steeper hills than you would expect given the gearing. Am considering getting another rear wheel built with Alfine Internal Gear Hub to make the bike a bit more consumer friendly...maybe for Hell and Back and that kind of thing but that's going to have to wait a while.
  5. Would love some but you have no idea how expensive those things are!
  6. On One Inbred 29 SS before. Padded saddle, Fleegle bars, Oury grips. Super comfy. Inbred with new hat on - Brooks B17. These saddles may not be the most practical but man oh man the craftsmanship is something to behold. Still in the process of breaking it in...slowly getting there. XTC12009-12-08 09:14:17
  7. Seems like a bit of a trend towards 1 x 9 happening. Depends on where you ride you may not need a granny and big ring. Maybe go for a 11 x 34 tooth cassette rather?
  8. Having a dingdong day used to be a good thing....
  9. Half the people out there would not even know the difference if you swapped their front and rear brakes around or let the air out of one of their tires, how are they going to notice a slight wheel size change. I mean if the argument is that you can run the 650 wheel on traditional frame design and geometry surely the difference is so inconsequential you're wasting your time making the change. An hour from now I'll be riding in Eden...whooohooo!!!!
  10. Slowbee it makes no sense that your height / size will reduce the amount of effect that you will experience from a different wheel size.....that oke's smoking Joe's again. You can take my bike for a spin if you want to try it for yourself. Just be warned...no shocks no gears....
  11. Kranswurm just do it, I have an On One 29"SS and love it! You won't regret it, not at On One prices anyway. For rigid and hardtail I reckon 29" is the way to go, for trail bikes the 650B does make sense. Just a pity you lose economies of scale and prices go up when new standards emerge.... The only thing that will make me want to get rid of my 9er is the fact that dingdong rides one....

  13. Quick question.... Are Cranks Brother Candy cleats compatible with Shimano SPD pedals and vice versa? Cheers,
  14. Would like to join you sometime soon...PM me if / when you are keen to hook up.
  15. How far did the fundraising oke on the 16" BMX get in the end?
  16. If you don't mind me asking what do they charge for a job like that?
  17. One of my friends are keen to take a couple of his staff and get stuck in with some chainsaws to open up the riding...does anyone know who to contact to find out if "they"(Safcol I guess?) are planning on cutting up the fallen trees and clearing the trails or if anyone will have issues if you get stuck into the job?

    Runners

never seen a runner looking like they're having a jol.
  19. A lot of the Eselfontein Farm where the Ceres MTB Fest takes place is included. XTC12009-10-28 00:35:05
  20. Who is in charge of these guys, who finances their gear and coordinates their training?
  21. Someone please help them with some basic bike maintenance as well please, they rode past my house going up the hill slowly and their chains sounded like a bunch of canaries on speed. (not AT speed....) Won't harp on about their fashion of riding....it's been discussed on numerous threads, I see them regularly and I have noticed no improvement over time.
  22. I read on a site somewhere that Shimano 9 speed chains are "Super Narrow" thus a Shimano chain on a SRAM Cassette may induce some shifting issues? XTC12009-10-23 01:15:46
  23. A word of thanks to Mason's Bike Inn who not only did considerable amount of work while I waited on my 29er today rather than telling me "Oooh we're so busy come get it Friday afternoon" but also scored me two much appreciated pieces of kit for my bike....PASELLA!!! You guys make me look forward to rather than dread visiting the LBS...the first one where I have not walked out feeling exploited. Well done keep it up.
  24. Nice bike....those are fast while remaining FUN! You're going to love it, I much prefer the more recent colour schemes than the two tone Anthems and XTC's of a year or two ago.
  25. HAHAHAHAHAHA that is gorgeous, best one so far by fffaaarr!!!!!XTC12009-10-20 08:01:24
