So i got donated a frame to build my ss mtb. Just a student budged i can not even buy cranks. So i want to commute with the bike to save petrol but now parts are more expensive than petrol! Haha. Any parts donations?

So my first race was in dullstroom on my girlfriends dad bike doing the half marathon. I was all packed up, camelback on full bottles expexting a hell of a long day. I pulled away like a crit race at the speed of light trying to stick with the front guys. They turned of and i went straight on thinking they are doff and following the blue markers(20km) i raced on. Coming closer to the end i saw few people around and thought could this be i won my first mtb race. Crossing the line hands held high and cheering then only to be told by my girlfriend and the race director i was wrong and have not even won the 20km race. So a dnf and a lot of shame left my first first race.

The no water was because of drolle in front washed there bikes with it. They don't plan for that kind of stupid people. You complain about walking 2km to your car but want to cycle 20km or 75km race? The wash bay accounted for pre paid people and maybe some additional people then they had to go thru 1000+ bikes and you complain? I agree on the routes merging at the end and slowing things down a bit. But if your not paid to race then just check your own time and work out time lost or whatever.

jap did the marathon started batch b cut my tyre on the start shoot could not get it fixed then walked back asked if i can start at the back of group f if i can get a new tyre fitted then the KIND AND WELL MANAGED people rescaned me into group f.started the race HTFUed and finish with the a b and some c batch.Only had my 2 bottles and one mud banana at WP3.
