  1. There is stuff that is for free others are for sale. Even if you don't buy anything, very useful site, you pick up a lot of training tips by following his blog. Youtube is full of his mtb training specific exercises for example do a search for mtb specific deadlift or swing or squat and chances are that his videos will pop up.
  2. Check out James Wilson: http://www.bikejames.com/ Probably the most comprehensive site on the net on the subject of mtb specific training. Lots of programs to suit every need. This guy is a genius IMHO. Save the site on your browser, you will want to check in every day.
  3. Sal nie 'n lang rit ooit aanpak sonder iets souts om te eet nie! Biltong of droë wors of makadamia neute.
  4. How strong is Froome!!!
  5. Just imagine if hydrophobic Wiggo was riding this..... Would be way past 18h00 before he crossed the finish line.
  6. Did it years ago, not sure if it exists any more. About 10 km if I remember correctly. Part of hiking trail and very tame.
  7. Sounds like a Giant Anthem? They have lifetime warranties on the frame and normally don't argue about replacing.
  8. Do the do mail order? The ad also stated "selected sizes" or something similar. That usually means sizes that don't sell like XXXs and XXXXl.
  9. Re Saddle sores.Things that worked for me: 1. Absolute hygiene: Get out of the cycling shorts ASAP. Shower with good antibacterial soap. 2. Apply bactroban ointment 3 times per day. 3. Switch to the right size good quality bib shorts. (tight fitting) 4. Beware of to soft a saddle. 5. Apply thick layer of milking cream mixed with anti bacterial ointment before every ride. If this does not help time off the saddle plus drainage plus antibiotics might be your only option. Hope you get well soon. Nothing more irritating than a bout of saddle sores.
  10. @Dave @TLW Thanks guys. Already googled the subject. Plenty of info available, was just wondering if any one has some personal experience on LCHF and treatment of epilepsy in teenagers.
  11. Slight hijack: Does any one on this thread know something about the treatment of epilepsy with LCHF? I have a relative (teenage boy) suffering from this disease and the current medical treatment is only producing limited results.
  12. Pure poetry in motion!
  13. "Awesome route with a bit of everything for every one in either the 30 or 60 km." +1! Plenty have been written about this race on the hub, 99% positive. Unfortunately a lot have been lost in the recent Hub crash. I have seen this race grow over the years from about 30 participants when they started to well over 400, so obviously they must be doing something right. The only negative I have is that they seldom start on time. (Due to participants arriving late and doing last minute entries.) Huge fan of this race though, tough 3 hr workout on the 60 km.
  14. Lots of anger and frustration on the hub today. Me? I had a blast while riding this morning so feeling on top of the world.
  15. Kenda, if you spent some time on the hub before you started to criticize and observed, you would have noticed that dipslick has approval for his use of caps lock. We would all start to worry that something is wrong when he starts to type like the rest of us. We are all different, thank goodness! How boring life would have been if we were all clones of each other. Chill bru!
  16. It is a fact that CO2 will react with ammonia based sealant to form a hard sludge ball. If I used CO2 on the trail I always let it out at home and inflate with normal air. Not sure how much this helps though.
  17. Three, getting to dinner on time if some one spilled some water on the team hotel's staircase.
  18. I am starting to believe this as well, never had problems until switching to the RR's. Our local trail (2 River) runs through a lot of Acacia veldt, so a tyre sealant combo really gets tested here.
  19. Is it possible to get a bad batch of Stans? I have always been a huge fan and after trying just about every thing else settled on Stans. Recently changed my tires from Crossmark to RR snakeskin. Bought a new bottle of Stans to add to the new rubber. It just does not seal the punctures like it should. Even tiny pinholes like from little devil's thorns dont seal. The sealant just escapes until all pressure is lost. Now I am not sure if it is the Stans fault or the RR's. This is my first set of RR's, have always been riding crossmarks in the past.
  20. Go Froome Dawg go!!! Best thing that could have happened to Sky's Tour de France aspirations. Team now united behind Chris.
  21. Great story River Rat, but you know the rules of The Hub; pictures or it did not happen!
  22. If you are looking for something that is not mainstream or mass participation I would like to invite you all to come and join us for an event you will never forget. Now in its 6th year 2 River MTB club is proud to present our annual race. 2 River MTB challenge offers 35 km of purpose built single track on the banks of the Vals and Vaal rivers. Although we don't have any major climbs the stunning single track on the 60 km route is tough yet rewarding. We have also built a technical route over the only klipkoppie in Bothaville. It offers a challenging climb with some technical but short descending. It was previously known as the Two River Technical Challenge.
  23. Speensalf of melksalf by jou koöperasie. Just don't ask for nipple cream! Die oom agter die toonbank sal jou skeef aankyk.
  24. Off course yes! Mix my own: 1 big tub of milking cream + 1 tube of antiseptic ointment. Cheap and it works like a charm.
  25. Nothing like some warm milk on a freezing Freestate morning!
