  1. Don't forget to get your offer in, only 2 days left, cutoff is 19:00 on Friday night
  2. Maybe consider a Scott Cr1 with ultegra...
  3. Hey all, The offline work continues, don't forget to stop past the CHOC Cows stand at the Expo on the weekend. We also will be represented at the Gauteng Toyrun on 24 November, the week after the 94.7 Road race. Please stop by and get yourself some moochandise....or just to say hello Any assistance that you can offer will be greatly appreciated http://www.givengain.com/activist/83804/projects/5956/ Regards Mark and Meryl
  4. Come on guys, you will never see another frame this colour, it was custom mixed for this job. Looking to raise as much as possible for this great and worthy cause
  5. No, it has a standard tiagra rear freewheel hub
  6. The auction will run until next week Friday, then we can arrange for the winner to collect from the 94.7 Expo on Satruday(or if the winner is elsewhere in the country we can arrange shipping) Thanks for your bid dirt-rider
  7. I have checked the brakes and they work well, which is why i chose the front as with weight shift when braking the rear has a tendency to skid instead of slowing you properly
  8. You could ride the 94.7 on this... Nothing to stop you.
  9. I also forgot to mention, if the buyer wants, i can make custom name labels for the bike, and i am planning to add a sticker to the top bar saying "I support the CHOC Cows"
  10. The colour has to be seen in the sunlight, it is a dark blue with silver sparkles. The tyres(forgot to mention) are Conti GP4000
  11. Hi all, The bike is built and i have started a thread in the Fixie/Single speed forum https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/133028-choc-cow-single-speed-auction/ I will be posting pics ASAP Regards Mark and Meryl
  12. Hi Guys I have a 56cm Le Jeune(Resprayed by professional panel Beater), It has Alex Rims AT450 wheels with Tiagra Hubs, 105 front brake with commuter style MTB brake lever, Adjustable Quill stem, Probike seatpost with a comfy saddle. Perfect for a Critical mass bike. This bike is up for auction to raise funds for the CHOC Cows. The Cows have been raising funds for quite a few years and the funding they provide allows CHOC to assist children affected by Cancer. Projects that are in progress/completed include educational courses(that are about to be utilised by the World Health Organisation), revamping a wing at Baragwanath, and building a house in East London. There is no end to the lengths that the Cows will go to raise the funding required to keep the projects running. If i can be so bold as to start the bidding around R2500 with the hopes of the final bid being paid via our givengain account. Should anyone be kind enough to offer donations instead of a bid, our givengain link is : http://grumpyandgiggles.givengain.org I will post pictures ASAP Regards Mark and Meryl.
  13. Stunning condition.... I know a guy from Bridgestone SA that may be willing to purchase if you are looking to sell it for funding other bikes divernick, let me know
  14. Royal Mail in the UK is close to using a decent Courier in SA, you can put a letter in the mail and it will be there the following morning. Problems all come when the parcels arrive in SA, SAPO is unfortunately close to useless, package will eventually arrive. Been waiting for a parcel from KZN for 11 days, eventually called them yesterday. and the site has simply stopped tracking it(says it is still in Germiston since 30 Oct, meantime it has been at the post office since the 31st)....can't even get the tracking right locally
  15. Great specials, good prices in general, too far from me to make it a viable workshop for me. Do most of my maintenance myself. Anything that requires a specialist tool, i go to my local, Procycles in Benoni, always happy to help and end up having a long chat....
  16. Excellent news today, i received the frame back from the panel beaters today(Dentworx in Benoni) and they have painted the frame a stunning blue which sparkles in the sun, i have had a chance to put the bike back together this afternoon, and just need a set of tyres and bar tape to complete the Single Speed build. I will post pictures up as soon as i receive the tyres and have it 100% complete. If anyone is interested in seeing it in the flesh, i will be at the CHOC Cows "stand" at the 94.7 Kiddies ride this weekend. Pull through to come and meet us, we will have a couple of the ice cream bikes for anyone that wants to get an idea of what some of the guys put themselves through every year. Should you wish to make a donation, we are still quite well short of our target. grumpyandgiggles.givengain.org Once i post up pics, i will open the bidding on the SS and this will help boost us towards our target Thanks Mark and Meryl
  17. Also good on Firefox
  18. I got involved due to a friend losing his 5 year old to leukemia a nunver of years back. Not a nice thing to see a grown man break down. Every cent that is raised goes to educating and assisting the kids. If anyo e has a few spare rand. Myself and my mrs are still short on our fundraising target. Thanks in advance. Grumpyandgiggles.givengain.org Regardd Mark and Meryl
  19. Lol
  20. Might be worth chatting to another more experienced bike owner that lives near you to help set your gears, i have found it relatively common for a cable to stretch initially, which would be what happened to your gears, with regard to the lever, speak to the bike shop it came from , may be a warranty replacement
  21. Thanks again bobbie Month end bump, any and all donations are appreciated as the 94.7 approaches... Still far short of our target
  22. For a commuter or town bike maybe, mtb would not make sense, and too heavy for road bikes my 2c
  23. Many thanks to Bobbie for the donation....
  24. Morning all, Anyone visit the 24 hour on Saturday? Just a month end bump in the hope that the generous hub members may have a few rand to spare for a great cause http://www.givengain.com/activist/83804/ Regards Mark and Meryl
  25. I didn't see any photographers
