  7. Has anyone seen an actual news article on this incident? Been looking but haven't found anything.
  8. Oh ok cool I get it now. My wheels are Stan's No tubes with Maxxis Crossmax tyres. I know the machanic who did my tubeless conversion mentioned that the tyres were't "proper" tubeless tyres so maybe that is the issue. Its the back wheel where I tend to feel the rocks hitting the rim through the tyre so maybe just a bit higher pressure wouldn't hurt. I weight about 78kgs...any advice on the tyre pressure?
  9. Tubeless. UST? TLR? HUH????
  10. I run my wheel on 2bars front and back but when on rocky surfaces i sometimes feel larger rocks bumping the rim. Is that normal? If i pump my wheels any harder then I find my back wheel slips on steeper, loose climbs.
  11. Anyone?
  12. Hey guys, I would love to help, I always think while riding the single tracks that it must take alot of work to maintain and we all take it for granted. Having said that I just need to see what my other half has planned fot that day. If I can't make it I would love to help out in the future. Lylo
  13. Hey guys, So I have now been dropped by my third partner in a row for the Wine 2 Whales adventure and am now waiting to hear back from potential partners four/five. Does anyone know when is the latest date that I can change partners? Or if worst come to worst when is the latest I need to sell my entry by? Lylo
  14. Thanks Delilah, I think I will try a ride with maybe moving the seat back a bit and make an appointment for a setup soon and see what they say. I've heard that Trail and Tar in Tokai has a good setup person.
  15. Hey Guys! So been loving my Storm 1 lately! I just have a question that myabe someone can answer for me. I havent had my bike set up professionally yet, i know the basics of leg lengths etc so just set it up to what felt comfortable. on the shorter rides I feel great but on rides over 2hours I find my arms begin to ache and i feel that I am sitting a bit too close to the handlebars. I rode 3hours on Sunday and on Monday my shoulders were so stiff and sore! Is this from the wrong stem length, saddle being too far forward, or both? I noticed that the stem on my Storm is pretty short compared to my old bike. Thanks Lyle
  16. Hey guys, So i ended up going for the Storm 1.0. The shiny XT and SID got the best of me! haha! Got it on fri eve and Saturday was way too rainy so took it to Tokai this afternoon(not much less rainy and wet anyway and wow what an amazing ride!!!! I've been on an alu, dual-sus, 26er and I cannot even compare two! I flew up hill that I normally break a sweat on and the two rings intead of three didnt seem to hinder me as there was such an increased power transfer to the real wheel with no rear shock to dampen it. The SID was a little soft but I just need to get a shock pump and get it to the right pressure. Rode it home after on the road and I swear it felt better than my road bike. I'm sure the Storm 2.0 would have been just as amazing but don't regret the few extra k. Thanks for all the advice guys! Lyle
  17. I'm trying to decide whether I'd like to spend the extra 3k or so and go for the silverback storm 1.0 instead of the 2.0? The frames, wheels, etc are the same, the only difference is xt and Sid rl shock instead of slx and Reba rl shock. Is the extra money worth what I'll be getting? Even if I can't really feel a difference is the quality much different, resale better, reliability better? I'm pretty set on one of the two so not looking to go for another brand. Thanks
