a meter or 2 behind a truck belching exhaust fumes ..yuck cannot be good for you. I honestly don't know how the roadies manage to ride in all those fumes ..don't people use car exhaust to kill themselves?

I know some people love their music but what they tend to forget is we don't all love the same thing ...personally I love the sound of the wind in my ears the thrum of the tyres on the ground the swoosh of the super fit guy on the 100k bike going past me. Also I feel one should be in tune with your bike know all its little clatters and clunks if you're riding listening to music you wont hear your gears grinding or your brakes squealing and finaly when I am up on the mountain i went there for peace and quiet, to get away from the the general noise of the city not to listen to what someone else thinks is cool music. just my R5 worth...

This problem is not just with their BMX's I have a tyax super mtb ..great bike in every respect except the freaking hubs. They are totally wrecked Cones stuffed, bearings shot, cups pitted to hell axle bent.I don't consider myself a hectic rider either and I have only had the bike for just over a year and a half. I finally got enough money together for a new wheelset. Am planning to put them on the bike this week. The hubs that come on the mongoose bikes seem to be something called Formula hubs and after a bit of research they are total sheet.Bent axles and short lived cones and cups seem to be the norm.Things is the rims weren't to bad but I've bent those as well anyway so a new wheelset it was ... A good bike ruined by rubbish hubs IMHO. Mongoose should seriously consider a different supplier for their hubs.

Shame man thats terrible, hope it gets better soon and you can hit those trails again, Hope your medical aid was up to date,,, I'm sure the bills are almost as painful as the knee,

someone mentioned that Mr Min is good to use on the bike I went to the shop the other day and there are a few different types of mr min which does one use?

with gold mags and a picnic bench on the boot??????

Just got back from a loverly holiday with the wife and kids my plan was to ride my ass off when I got back unfortunately I am now sick as a dog so sadly its gonna be a while before my bike takes me anywhere :( :( ..but I have plans to finally put my new wheels on my bike nearly three months after buying them... hopefully the salesman wasn't lying when he said they would change my bike

breaks who needs breaks just throw them away make youre bike 500g lighter just use youre 5/10's as breaks ............

I can tell you now that guy had no idea what he was riding probably sold it for R500.00 if even. He was like a frikkin bergie..it was so patently wrong.....wish I coulda got a picture..btw i never said anything about that place in plumstead.......

I usually give them a wipe with thinners or methylated spirits after cleaning. I've learnt my lesson with degreaser and high pressure anywhere near the hubs..... expensive lesson that...
