  2. I was on way through Meadowridge this afternoon and saw a guy on a very smart black and white full sus Specialised. I thought there is no way that it was his bike ..he couldn't even ride the thing properly. I slowed down and was trying to check him out when he realised that I was onto him unfortunately I was stuck in a bit of traffic and he just crossed the road and slowly disapeared ..damn not sure what I would have done had I confronted him as I had the kids in the car with me indecently even my 6 year old was saying that there was no way that bike belonged to that man. From what I saw in the rearview mirror he headed in the Plumstead direction....You know whats in Plumstead .....
  3. actually on review looks like I am wrong they used pre ww2 bikes mixed with motorcycle bits ???? OMG the MTB is descended from areal frikkin mongrel.....
  4. ok this might be nitpicking but I think they've gor it wrong with the evolution of the MTB ...the mountain bike was descended from the old Schwin type cruisers that were turned into Klunkers and the touring bike did it not come after the MTB? Look I could be wrong and stand to be corrected and yes I know I'm being a bit anal..sorry http://www.klunkerz.com/
  5. reminds me of my old cruiser ....
  6. yes, well I like it anyway.
  7. The clash always reminds me of going to Plett for the news years eve thing back in 1992 I think spent a whole week in that campsite drinking and smoking weed from 7 in the morning till falling over at late o clock ..the clash was the soundtrack. Sadly quite a few of us didn't make it to 40. I have a picture from then and of the 8 of us only 4 are still alive.....
  8. just entered my first Argus. Cant believe I've actually entered ...finaly got sick of people asking if I've done the august and me answering no ....
  9. must have been a hubber..who?
  10. If chappies was closed you could always do Bains Kloof ... yesterday Taking the familly to matroosberg to see the snow. I went along Bains kloof and there at the top in pouring rain, hail etc etc was some crazy roadie in front of couple of cars on his way down ... no words ....
  11. ooohhh flats.... think she can bunny hop ......ha ha ha
  12. Perhaps you need to give the contracter a call.
  13. Looking out my window right now and a diving suit might be a good idea if anyone wants to ride up there today ..they should also be advised that they will probably need to replace all their bearings afterwards as well......
  14. yes except now everytime I ride down there I'm going to be thinking some poor bloke bust his arms here .... and we all know what happens when you're riding and your mind starts to wander lol.
  15. slippery slimey pine reminds me of Tsitsikamma forest. one year we went there and were walking on the boardwalk and I was telling the kids not to run on it and warning my wife how slippery it was when whammo down I went ... my wife and kids had a good laugh even though It was quite sore....
  16. funnily enough that's never bothered me I didn't know you could hurt yourself so badly on that the ground seems relatively soft there....hmm
  17. It really doesn't look like much, if you see a picture of it you will wonder what the hell everyone's on about. Look I'm sure if you are a proficient rider it's probably fairly easy. Its just that it has this slight dip a rock or 2 in the wrong place and an approach angle that can be a little slippery... the problem is there are lots of very sharp rocks to break your fall and worse they can damage your bike....
  18. No one can talk me into trying to ride over there anymore I have almost lost count of how many times I have fallen off there. Every now and then I have a really good ride and decide "Right today is the day!!!!" then I get to the bridge and walk across it thinking its been a good ride today and I haven't hurt myself yet so why do it now at the end of a lovely ride....he he he funnly enough the track that I have fallen off on the most is fairy garden which is supposed to be so easy ..???
  19. yes I agree with that we can't all just go building whatever we feel like all over the place and generally I stay away from the tracks that I know I can't do. I have never moved a rock thats for sure If I want to build trails and give input I should join in on a build day, which I will do one of these days.
  20. one day I'm going to hide in the bushes and watch people going over "that" bridge....he he he
  21. don't talk about that blutty bridge ......lol
  22. don't forget the qualifying bunny hop on the flats....
  23. With that I agree..rather get off and walk then like the young lady I saw on fairy garden on sunday walking round one of the corners ..shame she must have been really new..
  24. Thank goodness I thought I was the only one that couldn't make it up there, I nearly did once but then I went otb cos I got my weight to far forward. oh well ... funny this therad is the sort of one for a friday ....
