  1. ...but doesn't look bling enough... With how little riding I have time for these days, looking good in the lounge is just as important!
  2. Hmmm, I've just realised that it seems all the new-fangled times-1 cranksets come without chainrings (with exception to chainsets like XT, which is why I guess they're called *chainsets*). Damnit, at first glance it looked like this for example would include a chainring: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/sram-x01-11-speed-crankset/rp-prod109101 Hmmm, I'm running an 3-blade XT (M782) setup at the moment and want to convert to SRAM 1x10 by going: X0 type 2 short-cage X0 10spd shifter 11-36 PG1050 cassette 10spd chain ??? crank with suitable chainring No chain device Don't want to spend more than R3k on cranks/chainring (if that), what do you guys reckon?
  3. Yep, but it's about a grand more than X01 from CRC (who keep on being out of stock)... (Plus, I need the stealth black X0 colours to match the new shifter and derailleur, naturally... )
  4. Any ideas on who locally (online preferably, but if local in CPT) has stock of shiny new X01 cranksets?
  5. It's been said that Alfas are very unique cars. No one Alfa has the same problems as another. Avids are a little more consistent, they all suck.
  6. He meant to say 29mm rims, that's their width. Just a typo, calm down...
  7. Damn, that sucks. Hope you track them down Where in the Southern Suburbs exactly?
  8. While you're at it, submit a request to get your grammar checker patented as well.
  9. I can definitely believe that. Because of the speed factor, the Gully is quite possibly the most insane piece of track I've seen in real life. Standing up close watching Ropelato gun it through there in practice was ridiculous. Seriously ridiculous.
  10. Put it this way: Nino flicked through the corkscrew faster and with more style than most guys on all-mountain/enduro bikes could ever wish to. It was insane. Seeing him dominate that section in real life was humbling, to say the least.
  11. Just a quick correction, the last shot is of Gina Nixon, with Rika in the background...
  12. Ended up trying to stay with her on a 6km climb in a race when I was at peak form a few years ago. Almost died, and she dropped me as we crested anyway. She's a machine!
  13. 20% is a pretty significant weight saving, it's almost 100g. That, and SLX looks way better with the larger cogs mounted on the spider.
  14. Sheesh, no way! I'm going to be doing a wine-touring, food-appreciating trip with my GF which will include: Malta Italy Leogang round of the WC The wine-touring, food-appreciating portion cancels out the bike...
  15. Really awesome pics, looks like a truckload of fun! I was considering going with next year but now have other plans, so someone else can have my bike: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/59409-2011-giant-glory-01/
  16. You have a road bike?!
  17. I see we're in the minority here, yours is the first mention... Series of the decade for me. Kevin Spacey has never been better.
  18. Yeah, I know, right? Crazy that someone would buy an expensive locally designed bike. We all know how rubbish Morewoods and Pygas are...
  19. Nice pad! Looks like a bit of a bat cave
  20. Hmmm, serious braking power is worth waaaaay more to me than 76g. Each to his own I guess, if you're not bombing down steep stuff it doesn't really matter...
  21. I'd be interested in the fork...
  22. Hahahaha!
  23. Nice. For the machine gun 9?
  24. Meaning, the Polo GTI? Or a more relaxed Golf VII variant?
