  1. In this weather I might need a physical smack to get me motivated to go out training, talking smack might not be enough.
  2. This is great news. Still the two annoying scheduled picnics, but hey, can't win on all fronts...
  3. Seems you've lost even before the start of the race then...
  4. Obviously they should list them for R10.50. And then when it's down to five on the shelf they should restock and reprice to R10.75 I say obviously because the retailer is a non-profit that sells products based on an intrinsic value calculated from production and distribution costs and the only sensible margins added is solely to cover retail costs. Right?
  5. Durbie Dash discussions, specifically that the "long" route is too easy, got me thinking - could the SA road scene benefit from adopting a finishing circuit in road races for the Elites like we see in many European races? Durbie Dash does not have options for a 3 x 15km circuit, but one lap of Vissershok + Malanshoogte and back onto Adderley could theoretically work. Speaking more generally, adding ~50km on a tough circuit for the Elites at the end of a fondo type event would solve two problems IMO. It would make the racing tougher and more exciting for the racers, while keeping the main event accessible to a wider demographic. It would enable non-elites to spectate racing at an event where they are also participating.
  6. Will check it out. Bought 6kg from Woolies the other day. Should be done soon...
  7. I mean, he can try to drop us... Surely he will try to drop us... But will he succeed in dropping us? 🤷‍♂️
  8. This one is not a PPA event so it will have its own numbers yes.
  9. At least the PPA events this year will go back to a re-usable number. Number collection is always such schlep.
  10. Yes, and since it's a no-drop ride it's a good one to get your seeding. That said, you need your pre-seeding for the seeding event, or else the seeding you get out of it will be sheet.
  11. It's just a word bro. Botanists and biologists have been sharing the word for centuries without any confusion or disagreement.
  12. I mostly did seated good mornings. Either felt too light to challenge my hamstrings, or too heavy to control near the bottom of the full ROM move. Core and back felt compromised. RDL I can really allow that weight to pull me into a stretch and I can feel full hamstring activation when pulling myself out of the bottom.
  13. Early bird pricing till Monday FYI...
  14. She does a great job at pivoting from the hips, but she's a gymnast. Most cyclist will just be putting their nerves under tension with that move (especially with that foot position) and not actually stretching their hamstrings.
  15. I struggle with Good Mornings but have been getting great results with RDLs and rate them highly for cycling.
  16. You are probably fine to leave it alone and just perform hamstring stretches that doesn't put it under tension. If you want to relax it a bit you can do the 'lying on your back kicking one leg up at a time' stretches. Do five kicks where you come back down after like one second, then up and hold and while you hold it under tension do foot flexions (dorsi + plantar).
  17. You rocking flannel shirts yet? Get a bib with pockets. If you're CT local it's worth checking out what Go-Cycle stocks. I'm in their road racing focused bibs for 15h a week and on an unpadded carbon saddle. No discomfort.
  18. My man, Woolies brand oats are by far the best. Large flake size, good integrity, and no powder in the packet. It's also often the cheapest of all brands and shops. Jungle oats is okay, but it's a far cry from Woolies and if you're going to do overnight oats then don't waste your time with Checkers or PnP house brand.
  19. Hamstrings - Make sure you are stretching your muscle and not just putting your sciatic nerve under tension (burning behind your knee). How to do it more often - Start watching a new series with 20min episodes. Not allowed to watch without stretching simultaneously...
  20. Yip. If anyone can enlighten us with a semi decent home remedy that'd be great too.
  21. Van Niekerk really used Impey's final big break attempt to his advantage. Sat in until the others eventually responded with a massive chase back allowing him the best chance to get in the medals. He countered hard, and it very nearly worked. What class to roll past Impey moments later with both of them on the back foot and stitch everything back up. Massively entertaining racing.
  22. Who has visuals? Thomas apparently overcooked a turn. How's Gustav Basson doing?
  23. They also mentioned the speed bump in the race guide. /s
  24. Can you find a cheaper full on racing bicycle? Is this the most expensive motorbike in it's class?
