  1. We parked next to her, horrible to have your bike gone from right next to you, these guys are soooo clever. A new low. This happened not 10 cars from the centre of everything INSIDE the venue.
  2. Think the 20, 40 and 70 has the same last few kms. So start intervals are important. They did it well at VGaalens
  3. Fortunate to ride sections of the trail yesterday afternoon - Thanks Johan. Very bumpy (gesnyde graspolle) flat single track - awesome! Not gonna be a very fast race I'd say and concerned over the singletrack sections near the end; might end in qeues with slower riders not that competent, specially the uphill sections. Hope the seeding and starting plan works as well as at VGaalens. Worst is 'no beer' on Sat unless a miracle happens to get a license. So for now, bring cooler boxes.
  4. Terrible. Trust the weekend training camp and the tour goes ahead, and all success in her honour.
  5. Jip, R80 if they do it, checked my invoice from last year. They add a new seal (yes, I know its only 3c worth) but it worth having them have a look, making sure all is 100% and its still watertight.
  6. Make an apppointment and they will help you there and then! Battery is like R80!
  7. Look what happened to the Argus entries. Only something like 40% of entries were sold to individuals, rest by organizations/charities - only way you can still enter now is buy entries from them!
  8. Anyone interested? Selling a Caffeluxe Milano Espresso Coffee Pod Machine, just put it in Junkmail for R600. Caffeluxe - Milano Espresso Machine - Red, 6 months old, not used for last 3 months, with warranty, dozen or so pods included. It takes Nespresso pods as well. Got a Delonghi few months ago - very happy
  9. Join a club, then join their rides. Info at any bikeshop in the East. I would recommend HotSpot as well.
  10. Read this in the local newspaper (front page!) while in SanF last week. Sounds hugely popular, but remember they have a lot less races and club rides are not popular either. So they need to be inventive. Not sure this would attract me at all.
  11. Nice write-up and congrats with the Catlike!!!! I also got the matt one few months ago. Unfortunately the matt layer is very thin and peels of very easily....
  12. Did you know: The first Critical Mass bicycle ride took place on September 25, 1992 in San Francisco, and has since spread to hundreds of cities worldwide (Wikipedia)
  13. Bring this to Jozi and I willbring Etienne u/10 Gauteng road race champ!
  14. Yo hubbers, lots&lots of awesomeness!!!!!!! From coffee to wine to jeans to Ken Block (gotta hate the the kid 4 his guts) to suitcase-buying-advice Thanks a mill, sooooooo lookin forward now! Wife was not jealous until she read this thread
  15. I'm of to San Francisco this week and want to get something for myself, something unique and bikeish of course. Got no idea whats on or whats really a good buy when in the States. Any ideas?
  16. I think most important is to have him on something that fits him rather than weight. He needs to be comfortable and enjoy it that that age. My 11 year old is still riding a 24" Merida dual which is lank heavy but he is so courageous and comforable on it. Other boys his age is riding 26ers and even 29ers but they get of where he is still going! Wont be long now be4 he needs to get ons a bigger bike, but I think it helped his confidence immensely.
  17. News yesterday on his injuries were incredible. Sounds like 6 ribs broken in front, few in the back which damaged a lung, lower part of his leg badly broken or vergruis.... But the Koos we know is strong enough to see this one through. Ons dink aan jou ou grote.
  18. I agree, guys we should be supporting Koos here, he needs it by what I read on here. Justice will take its toll, even if imaginations are running amok right now. Just like Burry's case is up again. Wheels turns too slowly imo, but it does. Go Koos!
  19. Sterkte Koos, ons dink aan julle!
  20. Try Cederberg Oasis. Very close to the middle of nowhere.
  21. This week is Fairtrade coffee week!!!! See http://www.fairtradelabel.org.za/event/fairtrade-coffee-week.47.html Go win some coffee, pity nothing in Pta
  22. ...better still, will swop for a used 26" MTB fork which can still fit V-brakes (fix my wife's bike)
  23. I have a Cafelux machine if anyone is interested. It is a red one. Friend bought it less than 6 months ago from Kalahari.com so it still under warranty. Still has some pods as well. Uses Nespresso pods as well. Offers around R500
  24. Musta been me and Etienne doin the 20km. From our perspective it was HECTIC with the 40s and 70s together. Very unfair on a 8 year old to have to be SOOOOO careful to keep left and not swerve - I understand you chaps are all racing for personal bests but jeepers, the poor kids are doin this for FUN!!!! THANKS TO ALL THE CHAPS CHEERING HIM ON, he got 3rd Nipper boys! I would not mind the 20 starting AFTER the 40, this will solve half the problem until the routes join again...
