I had a look at my sons Strava he was in the top 10. Racetime 2:08 Two stops of 3:12 and 4min where his gps autopaused. That gives a total time start to finish of around 2:15 The loop the elites missed incl TomJenkins was around 6kms and it took me 16 minutes. Them maybe 10 minutes? That gives me a total of around 2:25 Remmeber elites were stopped for 2 reasons. One being that they are not racing they were cruising in protest. Hence the slow time. Fastest non-elite time is Adolf Krige winnong VA in 2:18 So 2:25 looks to me realistic. Seeding should be calculated accordingly. Now who do we take this up with?

You make a good point - seeing as this was a CTCT seeding race..... we are all screwed. Will it be corrected?

Remember elites missed Tom Jenkins, probably 5km shorter distance. But not all of them only the lead bunch. Did Racetec correct it? Cant see how

I think you need a singlespeed as a second bike

17x32 and I run out of cadence very quickly. Thinking 16x32 might be more ideal. Even 15x32 but dont seem to be able to source a 15T. Any advice?

What a great event once again but........... I noted at least 4 major features removed this year including the floating bridge. That was very very disappointing convincing my 15 years old to ride 52 kms then no bridge. Probably due to declining entries. Its a fine balance.... enter next year?

Hi I have also contemplated this. See as some people managed to attach a second trailer surely the trailer frame structure will survive such a modification. My concern would be the whiplash effect of mounting a rack behind the trailer. Then again some people mount bike behind a caravan. I will keep an eye on this thread

Sad news At around 15:00 today 3 July at around the halfway point 2 perps jumped at 2 youngsters. The boys shouted. One perp ran away one tried to catch the boys armed with a knife Fortunately it was junior youngsters on road bikes. They outsprinted the perp. 1km down the road they saw a SAPS vehicle and reported it to him. He sped down the road. They reported it to the guard at the top gate and left. Very rattled. These are young boys 17 years old. They were really rattled and scared. Keep an eye out still not 100% at Klapperkop

Agree with you all. Why I support the regional thing is simply it easier to achieve anything on a smaller scale than macro scale specially if you a volunteer. So the provincial body is a must. And its a requirement. Ultimately it will only be a post box. But we should retain the regional structures. Each region then has a mandate to look after cycling in their own region - breaking it into smaller pieces has advantages. I am a volunteer and I represent my region and can try best to run/organize/help etc in my region knowing what the needs and people are. It however also have disadvantages - if a region cannot find these volunteer people then things like the above situation happens. And that is probably why the elaborate process of election etc is needed - to ensure proper processes and structures are put in place - if not then the cyclist has no-one to support them at provincial/national level, help put colour policies in place, ensure races are run properly and safely, money does not get spent correctly or disappears, etc. If I was from East I would seriously consider getting involved - and not necessarily sit on a committee but help find those individuals which has the oomph to run with this. Or give Frosty the support he needs. My 2c

Asking for some advice on the fitness test on the treadmill. I was asked to walk at some predetermined pace for 5 min then the bio took my HR and that was it Scored 4/5 Queried it with Vitality they pass me back to the bio and again and again. What is the treadmill protocol please?

Thanks for the routes. Did a few 2 weeks ago during the Lekkerland Fees. Going back to Pta we decided to ride via Korfnek back to Belfast, got a bit lost but found the R33 climb just before Belfast. What a beast! 4.3km @ 7% took me almost 30 minutes!!!!!

You went slightly from left to right next moment your bike hits the deck with a moer of a bang. Thanks for all the positive responses and constructive proposals. And thanks for the support it has been hard work but hell it was worth it. To me what Daryl said on the podium was the cherry on the cake: (not exact words) "This is the type of circuit we want to race on. We want the spectacle and want the spectators.
