  1. Trance 29er, posted it rather cheekily a few pages ago as my Pyga build, will be taking a 110 for some tests to decide in that as the geometry on the 2 frames are a bit different, I'm on a medium Trance but will go for a large Pyga on Patrick's recommendation so will need a shorter stem than I currently have probably in the 50mm range. Don't want to budget overly high as there must always be room for upgrades, so probably upper mid level. Would love Some Chris King Bling but that would be overkill for now. I see a lot of builds going out with Spank, FUNN and Cane Creek
  2. That the one from Spank? Looks good
  3. Just about ready to pull the trigger on a 110 frame which I will build up from my Trance. What other parts would I need to do the build, I am thinking that I would need a new bb and headset, although the bb only has about 500km done on it, ,I am going to change the stem as well as I can't bring myself to put a Giant contact stem on a Pyga, draw the line at the dropper and carbon bars. What advice can you give me. Current build on the Trance is XX1, xt brakes, flow wheels, revelation 140 up front
  4. Very nice Craig, I am sure you will find something to upgrade, pretty much what I want when I eventualy get my Pyga down to the Marshguard
  5. too much of niceness ????
  6. let me guess it's a medium ????. Very nice though
  7. Yes it will be and yes it is but not cool to sell a Toyota, sorry Giant on a Pyga thread . Not yet though due to availability of frames and funds
  8. Not funny it's a planned move ????, hopefully soon
  9. My Pyga build is nearly there! Dropper check, xx1 check, flow wheels check, wide bars check, xt brakes check, RS revalation 140 check, not sure what I'm missing ???? , besides the frame of course ????
  10. Up your neck of the woods next weekend robodog, anything to demo by then?
  11. You just beat me to that frame, ad disappeared as I was PM'ing Butch
  12. Sorry Slow day ????
  13. Good advice thanks, any idea when the next demo day is?
  14. So I think this year should be the year of the Pyga, but the question is which one? Currently on a Trance 29er and love the bike, tried the Trance 650 and didn't like it so I'm not convinced on the whole 650 thing. So how does the Pyga 650 compare to the Trance 650 compare to the Pascoe? I like the idea of the 29er as its what I'm used to and I'm 6" but I'm prepared to challenge myself ????! I do a stage race a year and ride mostly trails, so not sure if the Pascoe is the right tool for the stage part of that equation, but riding is about enjoying it every day surely? My usual ride is at least a 20km loop on the local mountain with a lot of climbing involved and obviously the reward thereafter. Sorry to Hijack the thread but this is the place of rabid Pyga'ites I'm sure
  15. Mphati mountain, always awesome!! And after this point we go down, fast!
  16. But what if say Dusi2c is listed and i have already entered (which I have ), would I still get the cash back
  17. I think this thread is getting bare
  18. On a Trance 29er with 140 revalation and XX1, Spez Purgatory up front and ground control back. The Flows are on and loving them, just seem to hold lines better and none of the flexy feeling I had at the back in the gnarly sections, is rather confidence boosting I must say!
  19. Hell Pyga and Flow in one sentence so it must be right, my dream bike
  20. Sheesh, decisions. Good advice from all over for both sets. Thanks, will have to live with whichever I go for, plus I have a deadline if I want to ride this weekend.
  21. Hi Rouxtie, thanks for the advice. My local terrain is very rocky and technical so wheel damage is also a problem, I was wrecking my Crests. i was lead to believe that Arch was basically a Crest for heavies, although I did choose those initially. i am leaning more to the Flow now due to the wider profile which will apparently lead to greater trail stability. I am not a downhiller by a long measure but tend to ride hard on the trails with 90% of my riding being trail based. Any other reasons you have for going Arch would be welcomed
  22. Taken the plunge and getting the Arch changed to Flow, then I will just let my gonads grow into them. Should make my Trance even more bomb proof!! Must say the Flow combined with the 140 Revalation makes more sense
  23. Both are EX, so there is a190g increase in weight, but with that weight comes attitude I suppose, and yes they are wider
  24. I have a slight problem in that I ordered a set of Arch EX wheels built up by my LBS as I was giving my Crests a bit of a beating, not due to weight as I am 84kg so within that realm, but due to riding style and local terrain. My local tracks are rather rocky and technical in nature with lots of jumps and gaps etc. I received my wheels back yesterday and only then did I notice i had a nice set of FLARCH's, front Flow and back Arch, I must admit it was a very rushed pick up. It was an honest, yet silly mistake on behalf of the LBS so no name and shame. But now the question is, should I not just go Flow and have bomb proof wheels for a small weight penalty?
  25. Fully agree there, I went from an Anthem to a Trance, loving the Trance, and it's not slower IMO, what little you loose on the ups you more than make up for on the downs! And the smile is much bigger on the downs too ????
