Finally my build is finished, I think . Just had the forks powder coated black and put on the custom decals from Tyrone, very happy. Now she looks as good as she rides! Think I might still take those rim decals off too.
Really a great idea for a product, mine has saved me and others countless times, but unfortunately gone wondering unexpectedly after trackside knocks. Feel the plastic should perhaps be of a softer more malleable type for the exposed regions and perhaps do the screw in bit as a Alu or similar metal insert as mine have also stripped ( thread tape works ). Love the idea but don't think I will be replacing at current price and longevity
I am finally a Pyga rider, had my first outing this morning and wow!! "peds" I'm in the same boat with the white fork though, looking at getting it resprayed, apparently powder coated is the way and then I've approached Tyrone for some custom decals. But for the moment will ride as is, except for a crank change (wrong Q factor ) and a stem change - Giant 70mm has gotta go!! Sorry have no idea why the pic has that orientation?
Hopefully will be doing my build this weekend, frame arrived in Durban on Sunday, just hoping these elections don't delay delivery! Not enjoying loooking at my frameless bike in a box nor all my mates planning rides tomorrow Noticed that there are some Pyga riding shirts out there, any idea where these come from?
I've just gone over from CB candys to Shimano 530. To be honest I don't know why I didn't do it years ago! Feel much more connected now plus I don't have to service the things at least once a year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was definitely an awesome ride this year, great weather and good animal sightings on the ride, depending on which side of the elephant stoppage you where! Just those damned zululand Christmas beetles on the last climb " Schweeeeetzz, choklaaatz!"
Part one of my Pyga build, hub adaptors for thru axle. Technically not really the first part of my Pyga build as I have been building a Pyga on a Trance frame for quite a while now, but this is the first part since I ordered the frame!!
Ive been stalking a 110 since they came out but was never in a position to pull the trigger. Ticks all the boxes for me coming from a Trance 29 that was awesome going downhill but a bit of a mule going up or on flat ground, shame seems I have killed my second Trance ????. The Stages are awesome but way out of my price range and I'm wary of Tupperware bikes. Must say that the price for a 110 frame is very steep for a Alu frame, would have liked a Stumpy too but fortunately/ unfortunately they don't sell frames. Plus having met Hilton and Pat a few times I can't think of better guys to buy a bike from!!
That looks awesome thanks!! Next question, what would the recommended stem length be? I have a 70mm one at the moment but want to change it as it seems like sacrilege to put a Giant connect stem on a Pyga. I am 6ft and have ordered a large frame, bars are 740 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Somewhere in these 202 pages there where some very nice frame protectors for Pygas, I think Bibi used them on some of his builds. Does anyone remember these?
Holding thumbs, seems I might have broken another Giant. LBS seems to think it looks like a valid claim so I just might be trading a new Giant frame for a Pyga frame next week and finally joining the club!! Not a planned move but I'll take it!!!
