  1. I remember a little while ago seeing a thread that asked Hubbers to state how much they earned per month, that got me thinking, how much do you spend per month on cycling or cycling related activities? Now this can include race entries, spares, parts, your coffee stops, beer and burger right after your ride, kit...basically everything besides your transport to the race or place you going to ride (because that would be a completely inconsistent variable) I can comfortably say I spend between R1500 - R2000 per month...sometimes probably more...
  2. oh and just the first event or the whole series?
  3. Care to give us more details why? Hope you will be emailing everyone that already entered to let them know, would hate for a bunch of cyclists to drive out to that side of the world for nothing...
  4. Probably not. Their best chance was with the Giro as they have a very good relationship with the organisers...bit of a shock that they weren't included.
  5. What time can we do on the day entries from?
  6. I agree...Not sure if Cannondale has kept all their other riders too but if so will be a very strong team for the new season!
  7. Ok, so got a response from Cycle Tour organisers and once seeding has happened only certain riders with a low enough index will qualify to ride the Argus for a 2nd loop. These riders will be notified by mail at the end of Jan/early Feb. But i'd suggest mailing them again once you receive your seeding to double check if you are interested in doing this.
  8. This years 99er is only a seeding event for 2015 Argus.
  9. As far as I understand it wouldn't this be criterium racing and not kermesse? I was under the impression kermesse was much longer laps with a longer overall distance...not that it really matters though, i'll still be there.
  10. not entirely true...go to cycle tour site and check the rules...you may do it twice if you abide by their conditions. i'm waiting for them to mail me these conditions...
  11. atleast get my name right GJR!!!
  12. I'll always tell people to get left with respect. If you start at the back of the Argus, irrespective of your capabilities, you can expect it to be clogged...or so i've heard, i've never actually ridden it.
  13. I'll be mailing the organisers to find out exactly if and how this can be done. I just want to do a 2nd lap for a friends charity, and don't have an issue paying for the additional entry. I think riding it twice without the additional entry is perhaps a little sly. The issue with faster riders coming past shouting left left left while passing the slower riders will happen either way, there are charity groups that ride sub 3:15 times starting at the back...i was part of the Qhubeka group at 94.7 that was riding for a sub 3 along with a couple of their pro riders (EDIT: we started in GG)...the guys capable of doing these times are more often than not the more behaved riders.
  14. all i know is that no, it isn't legal but its also something i was hoping to do...the 2nd lap for charity ofcourse. I'd be willing to pay a 2nd entry fee too if they allowed.
  15. I'll be doing just the road cycle leg in a team for the Terra Firma...hoping for a very fast 50kms!
  16. I really hope he performs, met him on a couple of occasions and is an all-round good oke.
  17. Hahahaha this conversation is taking a fantastic turn! Please can everyone post how they do after the race.
  18. I'm in that same boat...league for the first time, although i'm missing this event, will be doing the Boland league every Saturday and this 1 every Sunday. Will be a good run to the Argus!
  19. ...and what a 29er HT that is! Ordering my frame this month!
  20. Amazing that this thread popped up today...I was just busy thinking I want to go 1X10 on my new MTB build by couldn't decide what chainring i wanted to go. Thinking 32 is the safest option initially.
  21. Not really a sponsor but more a benefactor...had to happen after the incident with Dan Martin last year. Castelli is creating some beauties this season!
  22. I'd be interested to see those get tested by an independent person that can ride them hard and feel how they behave under pressure, looks like that guy was taking it very easy with them...
  23. Been here the whole time too...thankfully I enjoy what I do though.
  24. I also saw that...incredibly cheap if its any good
  25. So what would your recommendation be then? EDIT: Popular and over-rated are different...
