Fastest way for you to eliminate doubt would be for you to post a picture of the proof of purchase...not saying you need to prove anything to anyone but if you do that you'll get everyone off your back pretty quickly. If you can't/don't do that then you won't be doing your case any good here...or maybe a pic of the new bike your dad bought you? Perhaps a pic of you with both bikes next to each other?

My possibly slightly biased 2 cents... I had my first interaction with sportsworld here on the hub, around this time last year, it was then run by Steve and his wife whom went out of their way to give me advice and source items that I was looking for. Dennis (Denny Menchov here on TheHub) and his wife then took over when Steve left back to Ireland this year and seems to have done really well to keep building on what was important to the business as well as building on the range of products they stock. They've always said they pride the business on its customer satisfaction. Because they've often gone out of their way for me I try to go out of my way to support them when i'm looking for something. ...like i said, possibly slightly biased.

Yip, but in reality could have been anywhere...all images taken with newer cameras and most smartphones embed certain information into every image taken. Serial number of camera/phone and gps co-ordinaries too, using that data you can find the exact location the images were taken with google maps as well as using the serial number to see who the phone is/was registered to...normally a long shot but could always get lucky using that method

I just tried to extract EXIF data from the images to get the location they were taken but unfortunately the pictures were taken with a crappy camera or "non-smart" phone so nothing there...

...if you're here for 10 weeks don't limit yourself to that side of Cape Town, there's some amazing roads to cycle further North towards Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington, Franschoek and i'm pretty sure a bunch of guys here wouldn't mind you joining them, myself included.

Sounds pretty standard. Last month I brought in wheels, customs holds the package until I went there with an invoice and paid my VAT and clearance fee, exact same thing for my frame this month. Won't have any issues if you have the invoice for what you bought.

Hey Dubber, I'm a member of City Cycling Club...not to be confused with City Cycles (which is a store), as JGR has said, we've been along that route the last few Saturdays as part of our DC prep.
