  1. Hi there Not sure about Climb Finder but afaik it can display climbs ahead but I may be wrong. I love the buttons and large display, but especially the slightly Matt glass which reads WAY better than my 530. It seems as if it will only upload rides if the app is open and connected via Bluetooth but that night be a setting. Rand for Rand I'd choose the Element. Cyclelab had the V1 at a good price.
  2. Any news as to if Candice Lill is going to a pro team next year? She really deserves a top ride. If nothing yet, I'd love to see her replace Kate Courtney at Scott Sram as she's just never delivered plus they spend a lot of time in SA.....
  3. Does the 540 have the same high glare issues on the display. Liking the Wahoo Elmnt for having a matt'ish screen
  4. 👍 Looks like only 540 and up and not 530 😭
  5. I just saw something on my android phones Newsfeed stating a huge software update for Garmin 540 and up. Does anyone know if the Edge 530 is included at all? Cheers
  6. Yeah, not so easy this time due to speed differential but good idea. 👍
  7. Probably get lashed by the haters. What they don't get is that even if there is a club safety policy in place, when a marshall is standing in front of a judge after a death answering to what extent he/she was enforcing the policy on the day.... It was at about 08:20/08:30 on the descent from the highest point of the Cradle, riding roughly northbound. By the pace probably A or B bunch.
  8. Well done to Club Cyclelab bunch riding in the Cradle yesterday morning ...not just over the cycle lane but now even over the centre line....just so you can chat ...and when someone gets hit everyone Bayes for the car drivers blood.
  9. Who knows where the bodies are? 😄
  10. Someone asked me to share feedback which we received re a meeting about the Cradle cycle route (I have deleted the contact number): Cycling the Cradle Good morning everyone Every time I cycle the Cradle, I think how wonderful it is and how privileged we are. I was invited by the Gauteng Government to participate in a meeting held concerning safety at the Cradle. Whilst I don’t want to bore you with every detail, it was very refreshing to see their understanding of how meaningful the Cradle is to Gauteng and the determination to ‘protect’ it. This is not just about cyclists and runners, it includes other important aspects like the safety of pupils getting to school, a new taxi route which is becoming problematic, speeding motorists & suoerbikes, pollution of the rivers, maintenance of the roads, etc. Clearly, the point of cyclists being in the middle of the road was raised. I advised them of the hindrances eg glass, gravel, cement, potholes, etc. However, we all know that there are many cyclists who choose to cycle outside of the designated cycling lane. You can argue that it is your right to be there, however, please see it from a different perspective: it makes it difficult as well as unsafe for other cyclists to overtake as you are forcing them even further out into the road; you are making other road users unnecessarily frustrated (giving cyclists a bad rap) and please understand that those cycling lanes were specially put in place for us, the cyclists for our own protection, to help us. It’s difficult to request the Gauteng Roads Dept to consider constructing additional lanes on other roads if we are not prepared to enjoy and appreciate what has already been given to us. Let’s all be cycling Ambassadors and keep left, be courteous, be friendly, help others and be considerate. The Government are fully aware of the ‘explosion’ of athletes in recent years and the challenges of congestion and the safety issues which come with it. They would like active engagement from all relevant stakeholders. Please may I ask you to share this message with every cyclist you know. I would specifically like to reach out to the heads of running and cycling clubs and those who are keen to play a constructive and participative part in this journey to please contact me. Thank you Warm regards Karen karen@gigidistributors.co.za
  11. I've had a set of Lake carbon road shoes for 10 years and love them. Kangaroo leather creaks a bit when they are cold but there are ways to address that.
  12. Uh there is no 243.....if it's temporary there would be a Channel Closed notification.
  13. There's no ch 243???
  14. Updates up to date? Try a factory reset. Are there other sensors loaded ie previous HRM and others? Might be at its limit?
  15. Thanks but both are pomping fine without the head. Got both heads soaking in hot water at the moment. I might take them down to the petrol station for a good blow....make of that what you will 😁
  16. That might be it. Despite the new head, maybe that's the issue. Did you use anything to clean out the sealant? The only stuff I've found when cleaning a tyre inside that works as a solvent is Benzine .....
  17. Yip, we have 3 bikes between my son and I and they all do it......☺️
  18. SORRY I meant to add that I replaced the valve core and verified by blowing that it "flows". Apologies, I should have mentioned that.... I'm thinking valve issue on pump. 😬
  19. Both my floor pumps started doing this at around the same time .. . At the bottom of the pump stroke I get a lot of back pressure and a hiss at the valve which is either escaping air or it going SLOWLY into the valve. It starts to become high pressure and reads off the scale ... My high capacity pump just pushes straight back. A while ago I replaced the head on my one pump as it was popping off the valve on my road bike at 7 bar so I use that for my MTB as it's high capacity and the other for my road bike I know I may have to buy a new one but money is tight and I hate throwing stuff out..... Thanks
  20. Yip, that had occured to me but on my bike I've battled to get the housing out the chain stay as the shift cable is a bit malleable. But certainly a plan B. Plan C will be taping the housings together ...
  21. Stunning idea, thanks I will do that.
  22. Different road. This is the bridge below Toadbury hotel, there's a gate to Wildwood Brasserie and just before ZZ Farms in the Cradle. However, wherever this happens it's scary. I also scan for wheels turning, doors opening or closing etc Be safe
  23. Hi Hubbers My son recently bought a Scott Spark 940, aluminium, circa around 2018 and I'd like to replace the shift cable housing - before I pull the old one out does anyone know if this bike is likely to have in-frame guide tubing? My Cannondale Supersix Evo doesn't and that caused me some sweat.... Cheers
  24. A few months ago down the Toadbury hill from Lanseria Circle one of those "churchgoers" cars at the river cut and turned across me ...I clock 70kmhr down there and always wonder when it's going to happen again....
