  1. If Gardiner says Frischkernicht again....!!!
  2. I paid R300 for a hub swap at Cyclelab Fourways. I supplied the replacement hub. Think that's very reasonable
  3. I was watching the vines - yes they were blowing a bit but blew big time and then the chopper Hove into view....
  4. I was thinking the same. Any decent pilot would be well aware of the wind direction and the effects of his rotor drafts.. I flipping hate sucking in dust when I'm dying on my bike however I realise that other bikes cause unavoidable dust, but if I was one of the contenders I'd be pi$$ed as hell.
  5. Lucky for me then the only dust I'd have to be worried about would be from the Hyenas....
  6. If I was riding I'd not enjoy breathing the dust from the choppers...a few times they swamped the top teams.....
  7. Must have changed the rules. I googled - many new articles stating li.. fe ban
  8. He's my guy ...hope he got the tyre strategy I sent 🤣
  9. I see she's riding - thought she was banned for life in 2016.
  10. Anybody have a heads up as to what time the Elites will start today's Prologue? I'm already so over Neil Gardiner trying to restate the obvious with his linguistic expertise....
  11. Ah ok. To me aero bars are the TT kind? Drops to me mean road bars. Saw an idiot riding TT bars in the Montecasino Classico a month or so ago so it does happen.
  12. There used to be a rule banning aero bars....I'd hate to be riding with a TT bike in a bunch and with wind ...
  13. No the Karen's DONT only complain when it's a group....but seeing as you raised it, I get that a support vehicle needs to protect a group from collision from the rear....unfortunately Cyclelab believe that they own the road and encroach 4 to 5 wide when guys like Northcliff and Club 100 just get on with it....Northcliffs vehicle is generally nowhere near them and stops to help anyone - Kudos to them. My issue is when a single cyclist rides with Mom,dad or luvvy driving just behind that one rider...my concern is it's only going to get worse. 5 years ago there were none, now it's common, who knows where 5 years will take us.
  14. I ride an older (2015 model) MTB and have just recently compared measurements. My seat height was close to identical but seat fore/aft was a bit fiddly. Reason for mentioning the 2015 is that later MTB models tend to be longer and slacker - I've gone from a 100mm stem to 60mm and bars 720 to 800 and now 760. On both my road and MTB I felt like I wasn't making any power and discovered a great solution my moving my road saddle back. It was a bit of a challenge on the MTB as I had to go back to what looked a bit far back but wasn't really as my MTB frame was probably never designed for a shortish stem - my centre of saddle to stem bolt centres in mm are now quite similar.
  15. Now THERE we go! In response to a previous post, my bars aren't too far forward - changed from 720 bar and 100mm stem to 760 and 60mm
  16. As an aside, trying to drive past the Cyclelab bunches isn't the easiest but I've never had an issue passing any of their vehicles.
  17. I changed from a very straight bar (MTB) around 720mm and maybe 5 degree sweep to a Rapide 760 with I think it's 9 or so degrees, which feels extreme in comparison. My issue is I always feel like my wrists are twisted inwards from the up sweep and would prefer something close to as straight as a broomstick. Am I wrong in how my wrists are feeling twisted? Is there a reasonably priced 760 to 800w bar that's straighter than the Rapide? Thanks in advance.
  18. More and more riders are using support/follow vehicles where I ride in the Cradle. It's so unnecessary and my view is that if you need help out there get your wife/loved one/ lackey (yes there is a group of wealthy riders that employ backup) get them to park somewhere and come when called....it just adds to the traffic and pi$$es motorists off.
  19. I couldn't agree more. I've several times watched her drafting and no other women in sight, within the men or behind one man (husband?). I've believed there's a smelly rat for a long time in that only certain somewhat obscure events make up the majority of her races. I say let her race the Epic and she gets tested like (hopefully everybody else) and see how she does. In my mind you can't trust a doper - If you were the MD of a co. and someone in Finance defrauded the co. would you keep them in your employ, or employ a convicted fraudster?
  20. Takes even less to make sure litter is cleared and look where that got us? 😃
  21. I doubt that qty of wrappers would have fitted into my jersey and I'm not going to do it in my road shoes....organizer should have done their job. PS:Thank you for picking it up.
  22. BCD = Bolt Circle Diameter
  23. I'm not going to thank anyone for a race I didn't participate in..... So I should have gotten off my bike to pick up all the mess so that the organizers can do the same again next year? I did try to contact the organizers via a FB DM on Sunday - Still no reply as of now..... Last year I took the Cradle Cracker organisation to task via the Cradle Management, why? Because initially I contacted the race organiser telephonically and they were unhelpful. This year the Cradle Cracker were awesome - I didn't notice any litter and no water bags. We are spoilt having the Cradle to ride in and it supports some solid local businesses. I started riding there more than 20 years ago, long before the loop was tarred, you had to portage your bike across the bridge below Toadbury and there were no venues such as Bidon, Ground etc so I'm masively appreciative of what we have and yes, maybe a touch over protective when it comes to litter etc. We all have to share the space and a responsibility to leave it as we would like to find it.....
  24. Just chatted to one of the Cradle Management people and they will contact race organiser to clean up. As an aside, I used to be involved with the 947 via Harford Sports - the team manning a point on the route not "tidying up" is a no-no and so easy to manage. Agree that it's simple to stash your wrappers in another pocket, that's why they are there. It was only 90 odd km, how much can you eat in that time? 😁
  25. Cradle Cracker didn't pass that spot. Wrappers are old and flattened by traffic and restricted to what was the feed zone.
