  1. Doesn't the Sram have 22 and 24 and the plastic insert on the DS to bring it down?
  2. Op product spec says 22/24?
  3. Rather go with this and either Bike Addict or Price Match at Cyclelab ..cost me R590 yesterday. Been riding one for 5 years and 13000km. I just change bearings.
  4. Plus 1 on Jake's at the above .. .
  5. Thank you for that, you saved me R240 on a BB! VERY much appreciated!
  6. Thanks for all the feedback. I've noticed the CL price matching, is it online only?
  7. Hi I'm looking at buying a cassette from Bike Addict but haven't ever dealt with them, how is their service? Am I going to receive my cassette within a few days/a week or am I better off buying local in JHB and spending more?
  8. Agreed, Cedric adds about the same value that I would ...
  9. Miss him too. The new commentary DHI and XC lacking the past passion. The XC overhead drone shots are useless while the on track drone stuff is great. Why try to fix what's working really well?
  10. I'm biased but wouldn't hesitate buying another Vincent, worth checking out: https://vincentbikes.co.za/
  11. Correct. When a turbo is under boost it pushes a massive amount of heat through the exhaust, at idle you can hold your hand there no problem.
  12. Been following these guys on IG looks like they do good work....need a quote for a touch up on a chip on a Supersix Evo Black
  13. I interrupted his post/mid ride brekkie one morning at Bidon to ask for a selfie and he even insisted on standing up and his mate took the pic. I was struck by his humility and the fact that he's just a cyclist like all of us....I wonder how my request would have fared with one of the Spanish, French, Italian or S American primadonnas....
  14. Couldn't agree more!
  15. In one Be Lekker video on a climb, Daryl was huffing and puffing and Froomey was chilled...
  16. Asked them about it a year or two ago ...apparently the expocosts are very high.... I shake my head at the big road races that charge you around 1k to enter, have a couple of big sponsors and still see the expos as a money machine....I'm so glad my racing days are behind me....
  17. If you're going to let employees ride/drive your vehicle's expect them to be abused. The high staff turnover of the delivery industry would increase the abuse exponentially. On a daily basis I see delivery motorbikes riding where the front and rear wheels travel a different line.... Something that was discussed many years ago in trying to get SA onto bicycles was not only our complete lack of cycle lanes, but the terrain and our weather. I see taxis in Northriding (Joburg) using the paved pavement on the oncoming side of the road....imagine how they would abuse cycle lanes. I rode motorbikes as a teen in the late 70's and 80's and and will never mix it with 4 wheels on 2 wheels. PS the upkeep on an e-bike will be greater than on an ICE motorcycle. Said motorcycle will be patched up many times and will do in excess of 30-50,000km. E-bike ridden by employee? 🤣
  18. The scam word still in OP. With Loadshedding phones and emails are less than perfect. It's a tiny part, don't trash an established reputation just because they didn't immediately reply. I know the guys at 3 of their stores well, they might not all be the most dynamic but they are one of my go to's.
  19. Nope. Worked fine after replacing cable. Then started its ****. Luckily I had 2 wheels to try and rulled out cassette. Chain still in spec, therefore thought I'd give casing a try. This was on my road bike with Ultegra 10sp. On my MTB with Eagle GX I've learned to go to housing first if there's an issue as B screw etc Al set right over time....
  20. I had a similar issue but harder to diagnose with a used chain and cassette Replaced the cable housing and solved the issue. I had priorly replaced the cable but not the housing. IMHO the housing wears way before the cable ...
  21. We'll done. I'd like it a lot in a simple format ie where it's just the mount using o rings to fasten it the bar like this? Might add a lot of complication? Attached pics of Bryton mount I used to have ..
  22. Should scam him back and get courier delivery address to share where he lives for all to see. That should instill a bit of fear.... And to add insult, send him a box of dog turds!
  23. That's a really good policy!
