  1. Oh you mean Limburg is full of mud. Should have guessed.
  2. Home race because he's Dutch?
  3. Thought about the corrugation yet?
  4. Surely that roadie deserves a chance to have its wheels touch the ground again???
  5. He's riding Amstel and that is his last tar race for the season
  6. SAFFA invention. Hope the guys cashed out nicely when they sold to Gamin
  7. Has that not been done in SA yet? Know a couple of local HRS members who could get very excited about that PS did see that some fruitbat did a tripple
  8. That's fighting talk. Why don't you "cruise" to the SA record which as I have it is currently held by Benkie at 13.54 and done at Linksfield in JHB, see segment below. https://www.strava.com/segments/12298453 Make noise on social when you have done it!!!!
  9. Why not tackle Breedts itself? That is sort of the monster climb. Plus the shorter ride does not go up the actual monster
  10. Am with Odison on this. Sure the guy behaves a bit like a twit on a blog but I am willing to write it down to youthful exuberance. Like the fact that a SAFFA is taking up a challenge like this and hop he gives it a go at some time. It wasn't thought through properly and even a corpse muncher would have failed on that specific hill (IMHO). Disagree with the vegan that a record attempt can only be done in Oz as we have plenty of longer sheepish hill just not in GT. Maybe some Capies / KZN-ers can point him in the right direction?
  11. You mean like ex smokers????
  12. Nope MTB race is on Sat 1st of June, the run id on the 2nd
  13. If you speak Afrikaans you’re good to go
  14. Best commentary is Flemish. They really know what they’re on about
  15. Not THAT we can agree on
  16. No problem. Sensible people can disagree
  17. Think Phil call everybody Paul at least once
  18. Anyone figured this out. Mispronounces all names and knows fokol
  19. Gonna go out and do a few laps this afternoon?
  20. Not sure how many of you have tried Everesting. I had a go at it a few weeks ago and to spice things up we decided to do it on a dikwiel off-road. I threw in the towel after 5k climbing not due to any physical discomfort but purely the mental drain of doing endless repeats on the same hill. I am not sure whether I can do it on a longer hill and thus less repeats but am damn sure that doing 100+ repeats on the same bump is not for me (to complete we had to do 98) PS of the five starters, one completed and went on to do HRS in 29 hours. Utter madness if you ask me
  21. Sjoe, your tires lasted 5 years? I get nowhere close
  22. Holy crap; 9 Everesting of which 5 times HRS
  23. Dump the Strava segment https://www.strava.com/segments/4510082 in the Eversting calculator https://everesting.io/ and you can play with things like ascending and descending pace as well as number and duration of stops. Whichever way you cut it, the record of 8.46 is a very big ask
  24. Is what I thought.....and then I did the Jock tour!!!!!
  25. Agree 10% and believe that will ultimately sink the team. Mitchelton Scott is a good example which has always stuck to its Aussie identity despite the riders coming from several countries. Another team which has been true to its roots is Lotto Visma: unapologetically Dutch. Deceunick (ex Quickstep) is a Belgian example For those teams there is value for companies from the respective countries due to it's national nature in terms of sponsorship (Lotto is the Dutch lottery) By becoming just another international team, DD is fighting against all other international teams for sponsorship $$ and that ain't an easy fight especially if you do not dominate in terms of winnings.
