  1. Sjoe! Glad he's okay! Silverlining to this incident? new sprayjob maybe.
  2. very nice!
  3. I don't know what to go for but i had several punctures with the Vittoria Rubinos' and the next set (for Winter) was Specialized's Armidillos. They were great never had a puncture whole winter, then the side opened up in a race! Could have been due to me fitting them badly or maybe not, my friends Spez' tyres did the same thing I found out after wards.
  4. I know!!! The price of bicycle tyres is just ridiculous compared with car tyres!!
  5. When the legs are tired, and there's still 20km to go - I'll say " come on "Blackie" you can do it! I wanted to become one with my bike (nearly happended at the 1 tonner - so long in the saddle), but I'll have to go for the next best thing.
  6. I had an opportunity to trade my 56cm Roubaix Pro for a 54cm SL2. The thing is - she is all black! Everything from the tape, handlebar, seat frame, wheels ...All Black. Can't decide on a suitable name, options: Black Widow - sounds too dangerous Black Shadow - okayish Black Magic - cool Thanks Flemish Lion - not an option anymore Night Rider - 80's Blackout - Eskommish Ebony - ! Nightshade - sounds shady Nightflight - sounds scared Nero - parlo italiano? Swart Gevaar - come now this is 2009! Anyway here she is- What do you guys think! This is my new baby, size is perfect, happy with weight, handling and groupset. Peace to all. FakesFakes2009-10-26 01:14:53
  7. That's nice!!!!! I like unusual rear suspension. Enjoy - safe cycling
  8. Thanks guys! Anybody looking to sell their medium stumpjumper. See my wanted ad please.
  9. Hi, I'm 1.79m tall. Does anybody know which size Specialized Stumpjumper will fit me? I've put a wanted ad for a medium but I have yet to hear from guys selling theirs. Anyway, there are a few large stumpies for sale, and I'm just wondering if a large will be too big for me. As far as roadbikes go, I'm currently riding a 56cm Roubaix (90mm stem), and think that I would have been a better fit on a 54cm with a 110mm stem. Keen to hear from you! Regards Fakes
  10. Ek hoop so!!!!!
  11. Hi, Try electrical insulation tape. One turn of the colour of your choice around the post should prevent it from slipping. Never tried it myself - Found it on Cervelo's forums some time back. they had a problem with the Soloist seatpost slipping.

Hudz make custom "STI" hoods/covers for all groupsets. You get them in different colours.

    My ride!

It's a set of Formidable bars made by ControlTech in the USA - bought it from CRC - cost R1200 plus another R200 at the post office. The stem from CWC for R699. The Hudz from Hudz (as nobody stocked them here in SA) for R299.

    My ride!

The white hudz and h/bar were fitted on Friday. Some pics below:
  16. Controlling your breathing on climbs is essential to bring your HR down. That way you will go faster without tiring too quickly.
  17. I paid $30 for Hudz from the States. I didn't have to pay VAT or customs duties at the post office! Lucky me.
  18. I've only had good experiences with Chris them! Helpful people too!

For a full groupset including h/bar tape, pedals etc - R300. For what I'm having done - probably R100.

  22. Hi, Mark 2 at Bridge Cycles in Diepriver is good. He set me up. Then went for a few rides to settle myself in. Went back to him with some feedback. He then went with me on a few laps around the block. Came back to the shop where he put on a shorter stem, adjusted my cleats, and finetuned my saddle height. How's that for service. Bridge Cycles' tel no: 021 7124841 ask for Mark 2.
  23. Cool result Desmond - . Wishing you many thousands of happy km's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. No safety problem - would never be allowed by the manufacturers - Scott = good quality.
  25. This is so sad. I pray to God to make it easy for his family.
