  1. The way I saw it. The bra in the front is having a chilled day out on the bike, idling along just a tad over resting heart rate. The bra chasing (gatvlieg) later had to catch an Uber to take him back to pick up his lungs on the side of the road.
  2. Then the drive side bearing is not seated deep enough.
  3. You most likely lost the spacer that sits between the inner bearing of the hub and inner bearing of the freehub body. A rather specific size as it needs to fit over the axle and its diameter is that of the inner race of the bearing.
  4. If we had to really get pathetic about it, the heart of Jozi would be Joubert Park
  5. I would debate that it is.
  6. I certainly would rather opt for methylated spirits and a very clean rag before I go down the mild soap and water route.
  7. Asidkale at Leeukop prison is great. Enough beginner track and all the technical stuff can be avoided. To cover the distance you would have to double lap the easier stuff. The long route is 40 but some very technical sections if you choose that option. Lots of climbing unfortunately. But it’s safe, not very technical and in the heart of Jozi.
  8. Doing timing duties today with a bit of blue.
  9. Thanks The LLD is very comfy to wear
  10. A Longines kinda day.
  11. I didn't dare look anywhere but straight being on a rigid fork.
  12. Heck of a tough ride, but at the same time super rewarding.
  13. These are very nice. That dial is mesmerizing, sold mine a while back. Used to wear it on a nato.
  14. Though race this that always attracts the hard men of the sport, and sometimes the not so hard. I'm rooting for Yolande all the way, one of the most consistent and hardest working ladies in the sport locally.
  15. My little Oris Chronoris Speedtimer with inner rotating bezel for timing.
  16. Wow Was going though the chit chat after a long absence. Surprised to see this thread still going.
  17. I have been a bike mechanic for almost 35 years now. Have quite a number of certificates I got from doing courses internationally, with an actual physical hands on approach. Never got a certificate locally, and never will. It means nothing, it’s a piece of paper that you chuck in a box never to look at again. I f you have real world experience, you can walk in to any shop where they may test you, and if you are capable they will take you over anyone with a piece of paper, but has no real skill.
  18. Agreed Best way is to get in to a shop and get hands on experience from an experienced bike mechanic. And as you point out, to be trainable. Becoming a good bike mechanic takes years, and even the YouTube home experts who rate themselves by working on their own bikes, need to realize, only time and guidance makes for a good bike mechanic/technician. I’ve personally, and very nicely asked a few guys to leave in the past who had the certificate but zero technical ability.
  19. Don’t stress BigBen I will guarantee you that the BB shell only has one recess where the clip sits and the bearing presses against. The rest of the bearing preload will be done with other spacers.
  20. OP Take my word for it, just don’t mix then. The actuation and indexing is different. You can make anything work with a plan, but you will never know how it could actually feel if you do the right thing. I spend my days fixing internet misinformation and advice.
  21. I think they are a little crazy. Sram uses a 1:1 actuation and Shimano a 2:1 The indexing is all over the place.
  22. Cinturato 40 c R 850.00. per tyre.
  23. Cool Will keep them aside in any case.
  24. If this is what you are after. I have 2 for you mahala.
