  3. All jokes aside, he shreds on that piece of junk! Lekker vid! *Snap Hairy*
  4. Shot. Makes a lot of sense.
  5. Just out of interest, but how long are these stages? 3 stages seem quite little, all things considered. Unless the stages are quite long?
  6. Otherwise Re-Cycles should have a Wolftooth 34t NW
  7. I am very chuffed with mine so far.
  8. Yeah look, it's not hard or dangerous reaching down to set the lock-out (if you even will do that) on long distance rides since the terrain won't knock you off so readily. In Enduro races you will NEVER lock out. It's just another cable that can snag and it's ruining great looks.
  9. Snaaks eksê!
  10. Awesome ride, but do you really need the frk lockout? The extra cable is just so unneccessary.
  11. Awesome results! Any idea where Theo Ngubane was?
  12. Oh look! A 29'er ripping up the Alps (Germany, but still)...(with reference to the chirps I got at JH this weekend) Vat so!
  13. I am running a 30t wolf in front on my stumpy. Was 2x10 X9 (type 2). I still dropped the chain on seriously rooted downhill stuff, but it seems that cutting a link or two from the chain did the trick. Rode the same trails again and no issues anymore. As for ratios I find 30t with 11-36 fine for the AM stuff i ride in the WC.
  14. Ja I came off last year solidly facefirst. Peak snapped off and helmet saved me from full impact, but i always strap tight.
  15. My pair had some glue problems in front but that was my fault for cleaning them and leaving them in the Paarl sun to dry. Nothing Bostek shoe glue couldn't sort.
  16. I've heard and read quite often that the Commencals are on the heavy side even for AM rigs.
  17. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Sorry I just creamed in my pantz...
  18. I've been on the IMpacts since August 2013 and I am very happy. Bit bulky, but so am I...
  19. Gross! Can I have my money back?

  22. Just a little video of me an my brother in law goofing around in Paarl. Good to feel like a kid again and actually very beneficial for the skills
  23. The one thing I picked up lately riding lots of jonkershoek and G-spot is that your average u23 laaitie in lycra on his HT 100mm bike in the Stellies area is extremely technically proficient. Unfortunately they ride those trails as training for the weekend's XCM race or the Attakwas or Epic where they hope to be seen and pick up a sponsorship. In the end the social market is dictating where the pro's are going. I suspect that once Eduro becomes big enough to pull some sponsorships we'll start seeing a shift in mentality. Perhaps we'll even see some XCM pro's come and Stava the hell out of us Enduro scrubs. The fact that we now have three/four active Enduro series going indicates the time may be nigh. Here's hoping.
  24. Fair enough, but I think the point of concern is more to do with why in SA we suck so terribly at XCO. So although XCO has it's restricted appeal, why do Saffas then either a) suck harder at it than everyone else or b) prefer marathons so much more compared to other countries? XCO's restrictions are global, yet here it translates to poor performances. Why?
  25. Read an insightful (and in my opinion, sensible) piece in the latest Full Suss mag regarding the demise of XCO in SA. Basically it boils down to XCM events exploding (because sponsors push there for max exposure) and as a result a downturn in the amount of quality XCO events other than the provincial and national ones. Really sad. We're cultivating a mass of riders with little, if any, technical ability. You can see it in the average trail out there (not that I'm complaining - it's fun having the proper trails to ourselves). Hopefully the Spur Series will turn a corner for SA's XCO future.
