  1. What is a "true" re-usable link. I use SRAM 10 speed chain, I re-use the power chain link supplied with chain. I have read that one should only disconnect link once.
  2. Not bad

    chain suck

I started getting chainsuck on regular basis (even with not so dirty rings). On my previous experience with chainsuck on small chainring (> 1 year ago), damaged, scratch my MTB frame. Decided not worthwhile going through that again.

    chain suck

Get new chainrings. Had the same problem after replacing my chain. Chainsuck on middle ring. Decided best way not to worry about cainsuck is to replace chainrings. Is it true: new chain with old chain ring, higher chance of chainsuck?
  5. Top of range is the NOAH I have the Excaliber. Go it from CMC. Not sure if you can still get it from them. Could phone them and ask if they know of agents. Seen new models on raod in CT Check ou sites. Latest NOAH awesome. http://www.ridley-bikes.com/pl/za/en-gb/1/road http://www.ridley-bikes.com/pd/za/en-gb/1/79/road/noah

  9. Thanks Tarmac. Was at CWC on Saturday and seems the frame can be replaced under warrenty. For the rest (including my gear)' date=' we'll see what the insurance says. [/quote'] Frame replaced under warrenty, after a crash???
  10. How did you send it and what is the contact details?
  11. I am begining to have my doubts about CMC... Why?
  12. CMC or Cycles Direct
  13. Hi Try Tim from TBR engineering. He is also a cyclist. He is located in Melkbosstrand. I have seen him doing similiar job on a bike. He will have all the tools. He stay close to me and has done some work for me, very good E-mail tbreng@telkomsa.net. I have his cell nr at home
  14. I have a different approach. Train hard, start slow, go hard at end and feel like a king ( my roadie approach). With <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />MTB I also start slow, BUT at the end there is no king, only one very tired surfer dude.
  15. Is the 100Miler less technical than argus/burger? Maybe next year with some SERIOUS training. Will do more hillcrest/conters/table mountain training for Burger.
  16. Thanks for feedback. What I have realised from MTB rides is that any ride longer than 55 km is though. Tempted to enter, 75 km is m%$rse far. Did not like the Argus MTB. Been training regular (3-4 times a week) on MTB and road. Will concentrate more on MTB for the next 2 months.
  17. I have done the Argus MTB (long distance twice) on a hardtail. My fitnees level was above average. I found to be tough, maybe the heat. I would like to do the Burger MTB this year (long distance). My fitness level is very good. How does it compare with the Argus MTB. I must admit I am still nervouos of very technical single track. Prefer more jeep track and easy flowing single track
  18. Installed new Truvativ GXP BB on my <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />MTB. My first time trying to do this. Followed instructions, right torque, grease where required. After installation the crank felt very stiff. I removed one spacer, no improvement (Old GXP BB had two spacer, no problem). Decided to leave as is and see if there is an improvement after cycling for about 200 km. No luck. Also thought that I over greased it, if that is possible. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Remove crank and BB. Found out that drive side bearing does not rotate freely in the external cup (could not turn by hand). Remove bearing, bearing rotating freely when remove from cup. Realised that the cup could be faulty (not right size). Decide to use the old cup with the new bearing. Problem solved. Crank spin like a dream. So it seems internal diameter of cup to small and is ?squeezing? the bearing, preventing it from tuning freely. Glad I could solve the problem
  19. Yes, I mix petrol and prepsol.
  20. Back from cycling, awesome. No snakes. I decided that the day is to nice to wait for 13h30., so left a hour early.
