  2. [hi Guys i have a carbon stem. it works like a bomb. but i am not sure if it is cracked at the holes where the stem is fastened to the steerer tube. If it works like a bomb, then I believe it is more than just cracked

  7. Maybe I have the same problem. LBS replaced freehub 3 weeks ago. When cycling Contermanskloof I broke the change, Luckily I had all the right stuff to fix the chain. Seeing that I am doing Seweweekspoort this weekend, I decided to replace repaired chain with new chain (plan is to use “old” chain again after seweweekspoort) . On my first ride with the new chain it slipped on some of the chain rings. The cluster had only 1500 km and with still the first chain ( I checked chain and no wear over limit). Decided to be safe for this weekend and got new cluster. When removing “old” cluster I did noticed that lock ring was very loose. It seems that that could be the problem. Will try “old” cluster and “old” chain after seweweekspoort.
  8. Years ago I got bitten by a tick and got tick fever. Not fun. Good luck
  9. Check out website for all you want to know http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=122
  10. Had the same problem with a Scott scale. Used carbon paste and also masking tape around seatpost. worked for me.
  11. Does only your cluster move or does the free hub move with the cluster
  12. Why do you not want to use the GXP BB?
  13. If you go carbon, you will need insurrance. Just got myself a Morewood Zula (Alu). prefer alu on MTB and carbon on roadbike
  14. I use to try all different stuff. The best is still to wash your hands as often as possible and try not to touch your mouth, nose and eyes to often. It works for me. and some red wine every day does not do any harm
  15. I am riding 18,9" Scote scale. The top tube is 59-60 cm (horisontal , important). My saddle height is 78 cm (prefer higher than norma0 saddle height). My measurement of inside leg is 85 cm. I see you are based in CT. Welcome to contact me and test ride my bike to make sure.
  16. I have been there. trying to make a small frame work with 120 mm, not good. Go for 100 mm option. What is the height of your saddle from middle of BB to top of saddle?
  17. I have the same setup as above. You will not be sorry. Changed my MTB cycling for the best. Run back at 2 bar and front at 1.8/1.9. Use foot pump to inflate.
  18. Black is timeless. White looks cheap.
  19. a braai and good bottle of red wine works great the night before. on the morning to relief the suffering from all the wine, take one choclate bar and the miracle cure "cream soda"
  20. My LBS asked R350 a couple of months ago to rebuild bike if I supply parts. I have decided to do it myself, not because of the price, but to learn and service bike myself in future.
  21. You need smaller frame - sorry
  22. I am intested in buying Zula frame and build it up. Where can I get only frame (including back shock)? wHat price am I looking at?
  23. Had the same problem with training and racing wheels. Use spacer and also adjust cable tension when using training wheel. First make sure that the proplem is not new cluster with old chain.
  24. Question on the top up. I opened my tyres before the Burger. The stans formed a "hard" bal inside the tyres Been in there for abour 4 months. I believe the "hard" bal (when in solution)is the stuff that actually seals the hole. Therefore the stans left behind is ineffective and will not seal a "big" hole. Is it not better when you top up, to first get rid of the "diluted" stans and only use "new" stans
  25. I remove block valve, clean and spray with WD40. no problem
