  1. Amazing that Bridge are still the title sponsor. Business rescue must be working. Good luck to both the organizers and Bridge, we cant afford to loose good sponsors.
  2. I think we chatted about that today near Pniel. Just before I had to convert my steed to a single speed. I really chose the wrong gear. So you learn.
  3. the group seems to be afraid of riding tight. That sort of bunch riding does not help in the wind in CTN for sure not.
  4. Not really, you want to get the benefits for both running and cycling, then you need to pay for each. They have done the math and do not want to loose, like any casino, they always win.
  5. Exactly that, you cannot get more than 50% and depending on how you entered % will be less, or if you have entered more than the qty of races you will not get any discount. cpt armpies mayhem, on 12 Nov 2014 - 08:48 AM, said:
  6. What is the average cost / 100m of single track these days? to give some people a perspective of what goes into setting up a trail, not to mention the cost of maintenance.
  7. Done 2 tickets. But If I win the prize needs to go back into the pot for next time or any other good cause.
  8. I an just curious as I need to do a few calculations, were I to sell the following, brand new items what could I expect to be able to get for each of them? The reason for doing this is I may have to purchase a full bike to get the frame I want and would want to sell the components I don't need. I think this may be a bad business plan but so be it. So what would I get for: FORK Rock Shox Reba RL 29SA 100 Taper pushpush with HEADSET FSA No.9-55 HBS BRAKES Avid Elixir 5 180/180 mm Wheels: HUBS Sram M506 Disc RIMS Big Nine Pro D FREEWHEEL T TIRES Maxxis Aspen 29er Exception 2.1
  9. works perfectly, just change the blades, sometimes you will need to change both blades as the "jump" between the small and big blades could be too large. I went from 22, 32 42 to a 24, 36. that is all I changed the rest was just setting up of the FD limit skrews and DR height. Had one issue with the first bug blade I put on in that it needed spacers but then I got a thicker big blade and that was perfect. You fit the new big blade to the middle blade mounting points and there you go. Re the different RD and trigers SRAM works with all SRAM 10 speed mix and match.
  10. Now you know who the 'Dick' is.
  11. Re cramping, the only way to stop that is to ride within your limits. no mater what you take if you go out way harder than you are used to you will cramp. No use training at walking pace and trying to race. You need to condition your body to what it is going to expect in the race. I just hope the "sinkplaat" is not too bad. My ribs and clavicle have just knitted and are waaaaaay tender. Ho well we will know tomorrow afternoon.
  12. Why report something like this? He was stating his opinion just as many other have. Looks like freedom of speech is good as long as I/you am/are in agreement with his sentiments is all that is acceptable on this here forum ..... sometimes.
  13. Trans Karoo is faster than Trans Baviaans.
  14. You will need way more than that. there is only one climb. a 38 or a 40 will be better if you want to give it horns.
  15. http://www.27bslash6.com/interviews.html I would have been fired long ago.
  16. First time I see the Drive on the left....
  17. I would but I stopped taking a medal at the finish years ago.
  18. bump
  19. don't know much, but all I know is if it is wet and muddy and your drive train is a bit worn , like Die Burger and mine yesterday, it makes no difference what lube, just make sure you stop and lube with anything to prevent chain suck and broken chains. OK you could go 1 x 10/11, but I do not think enough of these users have ridden in wet and muddy conditions for long enough to see the impact.
  20. Bump!
  21. If you got to the traffic jam then you were not racing, or on the day you were not in contention, so chill.
  22. MTB Mass participation "Races" are what they are. Mass participation. If you are not in the top 20% of the "invited" group you have to accept that you are nowhere and deal with the bottleneks. ih you were not invited to the 75km, the question is why? and even if you were not invited and you are serious about racing you could always ask and then moan if not allowed into the proper race.
  23. Santam, not the cheapest, but insurance good and proper.
  24. Anyone got a teammate that is dropping out and want to sell their entry? I am looking for an entry as i need to reconfigure my teal but an need an existing entry from someone that is not going to ride.
  25. are you sure your Garmin was not pausing in all the ques. My time was spot in.
