    Bobby, I see your point to a point. However no matter what you have done want to do etc. you cannot have your cake and eat it. The proprietor at the gate cafe/coffee shop has done a deal with someone, not you, and unfortunately another cycle brand and that is that. It could have been coke or whoever. what then? The trails will exist with or without the current team, albeit not as well manicured or maybe better. But so what. Notwithstanding all you have said, this is still all about sales and marketing, and will always be so.

    Anyway got to go and have dinner at Ride Inn, fancy that ....... them getting so much free publicity out of this, but oh wait......... there is a Spez link there too if I recall the owner's involvement with the Spez racing team. So round and round it goes.

    Come to think of it, if trail maintenance stops just think of it....... It will revert to what it was in the past. A real mtb riders paradise with way fewer riders and better, more challenging trails. As long as a few people keep riding the trails they will stay open and just become more and more challenging, with the trails to ourselves. There is no way you can close the trails, unless you spend more money and dig up the trails. However the trail will remain and as long as a few people keep riding them they will remain. an example of this it the "New" trails that Murant opened above Kanonkop, Kudos to him, as he has rebuilt the old trails that we had been riding "secretly" for the last 7 to 10 years and those trails stayed openish for that whole period.

    The branding is not at your expense. The shop owner has a deal with Scott and brands for them. It could have been coke/Castle/Amstel/Playtex/some woman's toiletries etc. What then? Would you raise the same issues?

    and what if it was branded Coke as most shop signs are? What then? Just some fools looking to stir the pot because they did not think of it. The shop and the grounds belong to shop owner and they may put up any branding the choose. This is a free market. Spez are putting money and effort into the trials and everyone that rides there can clearly see the Spez branding. most say wow, look what they are doing etc etc. To be honest this is the first time I even noticed toe Scott branding. Get a life.

    Why go to the expense of a rear camera. just get a rear-view mirror. It still works in all cars. O Ja not cool enough. no matter what you have if you are not permanently watching it it is of little value.

    Only problem is there is only space for 1 bottle on the frame, You will have to mount one on the seatpost or similar.

    Hmmmmm not so much. This is the very least that is expected of such an event. to be honest, I was once again disappointed with the overall event. Considering the entry fee!!!! it is a single day race on district roads and all they really need to do is get the water points and feed stations right. This still left a lot to be desired. This race will die soon unless something drastic is done.

    Sorry I am over the age bracket, but I consume serious high carbs in the form of Charles Glass. Might be an interesting measurement. Ho well..... PS I am in CTN and can get to the centre.

    Agreed, only issue is he held out for too long. That is why he got burned more than the rest. and probably in Europe they were more accepting of the doping....

    I canceled 6 beds in the school hostel on friday. speak to the organizers. they should have place there still ZAR 150 a bed.

    Can you please get your website to tie up results and info from all the races so far. It is extremely frustrating to try and get any info on the 2012 ride. Results etc. For that matter I cant seem to find anything for 2013 iether. Please point me in the right direction for the results for 2012.

    Hi I need accommodation in Ceres for the 25th for 6 pax. just got an entry and don't want to drive through from Ctn, do the ride and etc. Got acc in Sutherland thankfully. We are riding as mates and I think we are going to be doing 15.5 to 17 hrs so you can understand my predicament. PM me if you know of anything. Please.

    Agreed, I hope they continue with the broken windows policy. once you get everyone sticking to even the small laws, you will eventually get a groundswell that will fore everyone to comply. Eventually over time. Not a quick fix but one that works.

    If you are heavy, like me, 2 x 10 is better. the bailout gear helps, but not a lot. OK I am 94kg so I felt it last week end. 10km k limb at 11%. but I did spin a lot easier with the 24 x 36 than he did on the 34 x 42 discounting the 25kg weight disadvantage I had.

    Get the wheel built properly! I am getting a set of wheels built at the moment and the biggest concern is the build, not the components. Calling JB ;-)

    Only question is what happens if a novice believe he is adept and goes for black and the same thing happens. Who's fault is it? Or a pro goes on the green route and is riding no hands and the same thing happens, who's fault is it? Or you are doing a race etc. etc. MTB, as said before, is an extreme sport (Well not the most people ride) check your life insurance policy, some even exclude cover if partaking in this "dangerous" sport.

    The only thing that hmm miss me is if I were in that position my recourse would be. 1. Contact supplier. 2. If no joy contact my legal. 3. Then contact social media. This seems to have been done wrong way round. I done know either party, but from what I see here everything is dodgy. But that is just me. The money as stake here is huge in my book and there is just too much ........ at the moment. Will like to see what the courts say. I believe both are going to such on the hind tit from reading between the lines.
