  1. BTW. I think you can count me in. It will be good training for 94.7. I too have to consider the opinions of the minister of home affairs. She also just happens to be the minister of tourism and Finance and trade and industry. Speaking of which, said minister finished my riding jacket yesterday. Not in time for my Mondeor mission but when I got home, I had to fit it on. Warm as toast and snug as a bug. Looks dam good and even has pouches. Hijak on - We are taking order for these riding jackets. With or without lining, with or without pouches (like your cycling jersey), any colour you like as long as it is dayglo yellow. Hijak off.
  2. Dude, you make one good point and one good point only. I agree on that point. Bike and bike accessoty prices are OTT. But to say that you can (and will) rather buy a cheap Chinese bikes is crazy. I don't know how anyone can justify the price of bike tyres but that's another rant. The "quality" of these Chinese bikes you speak of is non existant. No matter how cheap, they are nasty and I would never consider putting my health at risk by even riding one for a short distance. To be frank, you could not pay me enough to ride one for an extended perion of time either. Have you seen the video of the Chinese made 4X4 that they put into a front end crash test. (the vehicle in question is considered to be the most dangerous vehicle in the world.) I don't give a rat's bum how cheap a Chinese bike is. I will never ride one. Quite a while ago, my teenage step-son got a "Raleigh" MTB from Game for his birthday. First time he tried to "pop a wheelie", the gear cog on the rear wheel bent and the back wheel buckled. I would guess that the "Raleigh" in question was actually a cheap Chinese knock-off, based on the very inferior component and build quality. Thanks for sharing your ideas but I would rather pay more and get the quality although a huge PLUS would be not getting "ripped" on the name brand quality stuff.
  3. I registered to K2k him / her out for being so doff, but I can't postmy reply. Go figure. Waste of time having a battle ofwits with an unarmed person.

  5. Rubber, welcome to the hub mate. I'd suggest you not stir it up too much. Some okes can get intense and yes, it can be fun to poke fun at some things. Otheres are best left alone. My point is, if we ALL cared about litter the way Intern does, and if it irritated us to the same extent that it does intern, then there would be no litter lying around. It would be so easy, post race to just pack up and go home. No need for litter police. So while your comment may have been TIC or whatever, the facts remain, we all need to be more aware of the rpoblem and make one VERY SIMPLE contribution. DON'T drop your wrapper. It is that easy. Everything else is irrelevant. WTF should anyone run around and pick up junk after some brainless twit threw his / her paper away because he / she's too lazy or stoopid.
  6. The "Prince" rider to the rescue again. Thanks a stack for the Petini frame dude. It is really a beaut and the rebuild is complete. Test run still to come. 20 k time trial today to establish a base line. GOv2.0, you do not just ride a prince, I think you are one too. So have a nother back slap mate, whatever others think, you should get the award for being a helpful hubber. Kudos, dude. Respect.Slave2009-05-25 01:53:49

    Close Call

I hear brake fluid does some damage to paintwork. Just make sure the dickbrain does not make the connection to it being revenge from a cyclist. (AKA you.) Just pour on the fluid, when he goes to the movies and by the time he realises that brake fluid had been purde on his car, the paint will begin to peel off. "I hates wabbits." In this case that would be ijits that drive like that.
  8. I hope you find out the truth of what happened and the driver of the vehicle. I also hope you can find some comfort at this time and that your nephew recovers fully. I get really angry when I read stuff like this because I know as a cyclist, that it could have been me, or one of my mates. Such a pity that "life" in SA is treated wtih such disrespect by so many or put another way, that we have so little respect for one another. I have to leave now before my anger gets the better of me. Please keep us up to date on progress of recovery. I wish you all the best.
  9. Straight up. (No pun intended.)
  10. Maybe 'cause you can't even get a new bike for around 5k anymore unless it's older than my Peejou. EDIT: Even if I could afford a 50k bike, I wouldn't buy it. I don't think there is any value in it for me. My old farm gate works so why bother changing it? BTW, 9 Speed is over rated. I love going up a hill faster than some poser dude on his full carbon bike and seeing the look on his face when I loudly say "nice bike. If I can do this on mine, imagine whet I could do on that fine bike."Slave2009-05-20 07:33:09
  11. I'm about to do the course myself. Wanted to guage what sort of rates are applicable and what level of advertising I would have to do and how many massages to pay for the course.
  12. Is this an important part of your regimen? Why? If-not why not? What is the going rate?
  13. Eeeek. Me, feel guilty. Don't be daft WW, I'm way too stupid to feel guilty. (I think in another life, my name was Earl.)
  14. It's getting the pee in a froth that is most dangerous. Don't worry dude, I can live with the riducule. Whatever floats the bones right?
  15. You think I can put MTB wheels on mt farm gate and ride it at NF?
  16. Welcome to the hub Texas. Hang in there dude, someone will answer soon enough and you could end up having as much fun as we do.
  17. Hey Ferrari, welcome to the hub. You been her two months but still fairly new. Good luck recruiting dude. I had to wait a few months before I got my gang of renegades together. It's loads of fun when you can get a bunch togetherand you can even orgnise your own bunch rides when you can get enough cyclists together.
  18. Eish, just when I had given up my membership of the hobbit club. I shaved for a few months and gave it up. The hair is just starting to look good again and now, I'll have to reconsider my options on the hobit club. Can one renew membership after it has expired?
