  1. messing around with a traffic circle http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/VW-Racing/IMG_3488_e.jpg
  2. Cape St Francis, Eastern Cape. Not much riding there (road) but awesome surfing! this obviously wasn't me as I took the photo, was a random surfer, didn't get his name. This particular piece was published in a book recently http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/VW-Racing/10.jpg
  3. my hard tail weighs 8kg's but it can't really go off road cause it's a Triathlon bike
  4. STEP 1: Pull alongside rider so he is on your left STEP 2: Wait for a nice size bush or ditch STEP 3: Unclip left shoe from pedal STEP 4: Remove said rider from the Black Top with your left foot STEP 5: Dont get your foot caught in his frame http://jimsbikeblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/bike_lanes_fall.jpg
  5. i beat him with Lewis Gordon Pugh it got Micheal Jackson and Travis Patrana spot on though
  6. you see people trying to go up a super tube or roller coaster track do you ?? although i have to agree with the comment, if the it's possible to ride up the 'downhill', it can't be a vey steep downhill ??
  7. what about the trip home? back up the hill I have a Giant cruiser (Simple) and those things HATE the hills, I like to think I am relatively ok at going up a hill but man the geometry of these bikes is 100% for flat and downhill rides. They are a serious blast though, lots of fun. please send pics it's done, files in a basket and hills on cruiser will make for an interesting pic
  8. I hated the stuff till I tried Sort of like what will happen when the 26" fans ride a 29er jokes aside, I got a pair of the 2XU long compression tights a few weeks ago, I just sleep in them and they seriously work, I haven't been stiff the following morning since I got them.
  9. Rudy Project are having a big sale at the moment.. all Goggles are R600 i think https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/103306-rudy-project-clearance-sale/
  10. http://www.grassyknolltv.com/2011/paris-roubaix/PIC189355446-adj3-Ista-crop-640.jpg
  11. I unscrew my look pedals from my road and I take them and my road shoes with as well as the spanner! unscrew the pedals on the spin bike and put my normal pedals on and bobs your uncle, plus you have piece of mind that some of your normal riding position is maintained in terms feet position etc.
  12. I use a wet lube on my chain, and I use WD-40 on all the bolts, shifter mechanisms and into the derailleur parts that move. The rust should only be surface rust, Park Tool make those chain cleaners that you can put engine cleaner into and it clips on the chain, you turn the pedals and it cleans the chain for you. If there isn't 20kg's of caked mud on your chain it works like a bomb rinse thoroughly (Note: never use a high pressure hose) and let it dry before you lube it. that's what i do anyway..
  13. A cyclocross bike ?? now that takes some skill! and alot of arthro-guard
  14. who said skinny wheels cant go off road
  15. hey you've made a significant scientific discovery here, who knew Noah had rollers and bicycles on the Ark ??
  16. general rule of thum is that the body is most optimised at burning fat after 45 minutes into a training session at 60% of your maximum heart rate (in english, easy enough to hold a conversation while you are training). Your body will burn Glucose for energy for the first 45 - 90 minutes of any given session. if your training session only last 45 - 60 minutes you wont burn much fat, the other option is lessen your carb intake and have a diet consisting of 80% protein, this will force your body to burn the existing sources for energy instead of just refueling it. It works like a hybrid in a way when the petrol runs out it burns the hydrogen (or whatever those things use?? ) when there is no petrol you'll use the other fuels, it wont be comfortable but it will work, when you are at your goal weight you can figure out kj burned vs kj needed to maintain that weight.. hope you come right!
  17. as an avid triathlete and funrider MTB I would suggest MTB, for the fun factor (dont tell anyone i said this) nothing beats MTB I see you are also in PE.. PE as lots of lekker places to ride + we have the Baakens Valley running through the middle and with the XC Nationls having just been here we have a fantastic new XC course having said that I have found in PE that networking and socialising while riding is easier with the road bunches as there are alot more organised rides on the road side of thing. or you could try running, it's a lot cheaper lots of running clubs that meet for 'social' running and beer drinking! haha! Old Grey TT tonight at 17h30, 15k's from the Old Grey Sports Club!!
  18. i also have the Kenda small block 8's but I quickly changed the front tyre because I found the Kenda doesnt like cornering in soft technical terrain, kept washing out and landing in the dirt put a WTB Nano 2.1 29er on the front today @ 537g will be testing it out over the weekend! seriously hoping for better grip, would've gone 2.4 Mountain King if I could find one
  19. Hi Monark Don't listen to the dickwads!! http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/VW-Racing/dickwad-theory_2.jpg I wrestled with the same issue when I got my 29er, with the wheel diameter being bigger it makes sense more leverage will be needed for a faster steering response. I eventually settled on a 80mm stem with a 660mm riser bar and I have thoroughly enjoyed the set-up! I am riding the Momsen that they tested in the shootout. Hope you come right!
  20. wow, thank you that is very generous!!
  21. how old is it? how much do you want for it?
  22. As the subject suggests I am looking for a 20 hole front road hub, anyone know which company's in SA make/bring in these types of hubs ?? thanks
  23. shot! that Flickr stuff is pretty rad
  24. oh then tip the valve upside down to get the core back to the top and screw it back in place
  25. you have to remove the valve core from the valve (make sure the core doesn't fall into the tube!!!) hold the back of the valve so it doesn't slip in but leave enough gap for the sealant to go in the tube. 2oz Stans sealant bottle screws nicely onto the valve and squeeze into tube
