Made it,no baddy's around.This morning I oversleptfor 1/2 hour and did not want to take on the Marine Dr offramp onto FW De Klerk and FW as the traffic was building up ,so I did hijack alley .Only passed 1 well dressed guy .It was just getting light.Not so keen to do that in the dark.

Its 15h00 and time to take on Hijack Alley,hope the bad guys are occupied elsewhere.

Saltriver Circle is not my favourite traffic circle especially in peak hour traffic.Then you have strollers also crossing the road,ear phones in and slowing down when they cross the green cycle lane.

Gotta love this cycle path,but still there are guys taking on the traffic on the dual carridgeway.The mind boggles

Quick stop to admire the view,then coffee at Lekker in Kalkbay and to finish off a surf at Muizies

Just read Jake White's book ,it gives a good idea of behind the scenes dramas.

I am sure some traffic congestion will be solved if Metro rail got their act together and did not have to cancel +/- 20 trains per peak,made space for bikes on a coach and developed to train stations into shopping areas with security ,which will hopefully get rid of the thugs hanging around at some stations.

Off the bike for 3 weeks thanks to a cold\flu whatever.So no Karoo2coast after 6mnths of training @#$

I hope it makes them feel bad about sitting in traffic while I breeze past

Lately lots of glass on the cycle lane :Woodstock myciti station,Hijack alley and Milnerton.Will have to strap a broom to the top tube soon. Be careful out there.

Never take it for granted that the Cycle lane will be clear of obstacles. Some M..F.. left a dry tree branch in the cycle lane opp Woodbridge primary, inside the bush was a plank with nails sticking out.Saw it to late as I had the beam on flashing and went OTB in slow mo.Good start to a Tues morning 5AM

Enjoying quiet Koeberg nat reserve ,after a female Eland scared me off for getting to close to her group of 20 ,this guy allowed a photo shoot but gave a snort when he got gatvol of me

Fence along hijack alley was fixed yesterday.Hope it keeps the bad guys out.Good to see Metro cops along the route. as well.

Cycled past Newland Rugby stadium at 9am and the security ,vendors, hospitality areas all in place.Could feel the fibe already.Hope the fans have a great time.Go Bokke!!

My favourite place .Did not pass anybody and wish to reach 20kmh,but that is a long way off

D-Mike get well soon .Bosmansdam dangerous at the best of times.Once tried to get away from the traffic by riding in the footpath next to the road untill I came to a abrupt stop because my bars were wider than the space between two poles supporting a road sign.

Awesome riding,great course.Nice day out in the sun.Riders deserved more spectators

AS I was passing Woodstock MICITI bus station yesterday a saw commuter catching up so I slowed down hoping to join him and of course he then left me for dead as he raced past.FW de Klerk is hectic after 5.30am with long distance busses and trucks.Made that mistake once. Looking forward to Hijack alley this afternoon! Fri and Mon we are prime targets.To crown it all it is payday weekend as well .All the crazies will be out tonight and tomorrow am. Be careful out there

Somebody saw him at Woodstock bus station and thought he looked suspect with the bike ,asked security at the bus stop for help ,when this guy went for his pocket .This pic seems to have been taken near Salt river circle

Case of Heinekens to the person that has him arrested.

Another bike jacking yesterday at 5pm on Cycle route between Paarden eiland and Woodstock.Jackers knew Metro cops would not be out on the cycle route in the rain and took their chance. Be carefull out there.

Simonstown at dawn , on to Millerspoint to check out the big boys toys and then a cruise through Houtbay harbour
