After a month of commuting by car I am back on the bike .Forgotten how refreshing the southeaster can be early morning!

After work ride,1st time on the bike this week.Could not resist a stop at Oceana Power Boat Club for a cold one.

From Table mountain bikers "At 8:07 a report was received of 2 persons robbed near Rhodes Memorial by 2 suspects on a motorbike. San Parks and SAPS worked together to apprehend the suspects within an hour in Rondebosch. Great work by all concerned". Well done

Don't think you are safe on the cycle lane.Seen near Lagoon beach this morning.Driver clipped the barrier between BRT lane and Marine Dr and rolled onto cycle lane.Sat and Sun mornings use to scare the daylights out of me because of the jollers going home .Add Fri mornings as well.Be careful out there

Worst offender-parking in cycle lanes ,must be Active Sushi in lower Bree st

No matter how often you cycle your regular route.Beware! The city council might dig up a section of your route overnight and leave no warning signs.Outside ON TAP, near the Harbour entrance a section of tar has been lifted and I hit it in the dark and almost had a rude awakening.

Just seen on FB a cyclist was relieved of his bike and watch at gun point yesterday on the pedestrian bridge near the Mill at UCT.Be careful out there

Spring is in the air.Some high speed dicing on the cycle route yesterday afternoon Guys using all their tricks:bunnyhopping,trackstands,shortcuts,going cross country,ramping off pavements.Loving it!Of course I got dropped.Be careful out there.

Learnt the meaning of appreciation. Last 200m of of commute home I was joined by a local gardener on his road bike.I noticed his pedals were shot ,so I gave him some old ones I had lying around the house ,plus some gloves.If it wasn't for his ears his smile would have gone round his head. I also noticed that he does not have any bar tape and I wondered if any Cape Town hubbers had some old tape lying around which they are not using.

At around 11.00am this morning the Metro cops were removing all shelters built next to FW De Klerk Boulevard between WOMAG and the Lower Church St bridge as well as along the cycle lane.I hoped that the "bos slapers" would leave and that it would be safer along the cycle lane ,but they are back this afternoon.Be careful out there!!!

Yesterday after only 6km could hardly breath and felt dizzy,had to push bike .Took some meds with some Klipdrift.Has helped a bit. Chemist says I should see a Dr.

Take a sight seeing tour up through Oranjezicht to get to Kloofnek,rather than Kloof Rd.Road are quieter and some nice houses up there.See how the other half live.

Learned some respect! Saw Ans on her way back to Tableview from Seapoint after work.That must be a +/-60km commute daily.Respect!!

The boss thought it wise to do a firedrill at the start of the last over!!!! Lots of praise for the Proteas in New Zealand.It is tough to win in Auckland,just ask the Boks.

A new construction site going up at Glen beach (between Campsbay and Clifton) on the hill.Yesterday there were lots of big trucks offloading ,peak hour traffic and cyclists weaving through. Be carefull out there !!

Done my knee in a month ago.After every visit to Physio it seems to get worse. 10 months of training for K2C and Cycle Tour down the tubes.Will have to swing my charity entry.NOT HAPPY!!

Some rider(not a commuter) will not learn that it is far safer on the cycle path between Lagoon beach and Steven Johnson cars.They would much rather ride slowly and almost in the gutter on Marine Dr.than use the lekka cycle path.Forcing cars to slow down and move over into the next lane. The mind boggles!
