  2. Only problem is that your phone might get damaged,so good to have backup numbers stuck to the bike
  3. Lots of food to choose from. Start off with pasta, followed by a couple of cold ones ,then some braaivleis and roosterbrood and you will be strong for the next day.
  4. Best thing about going up Simola is the smell of the sea,the light southeaster and the discussions about cold Bosuns
  5. Pity we did not see much of the rest of the field or even just graphics to show how the rest of the guys were doing. Going to start working out like Nino.Hopefully my skills and fitness will improve!!!

  8. Been studing Google maps and it seems you can approach Kareedouw from the North East if you bypass Humansdorp.North of Kareedouw is Baviaans lodge and from there you might be able to get through to the Onder Kouga loop and then miss out on the tarr section of R62 near Kareedouw, but you will have to consult the farmers in the area or Nature conservation
  9. Lately lots of glass on the cycle lane :Woodstock myciti station,Hijack alley and Milnerton. Will have to strap a broom to the top tube soon. Be careful out there.

  12. St Francis to Clarkson on the back rds and then to Kareedouw and the Langkloof ,but you will have to some tar in the Lower Langkloof and the Upper Langkloof otherwise gravel farm rds either side of the R62.from The Heights to Misgund.Camping in Kareedouw,Joubertina,Kouga Wildernis also guesthouses all along the way .Go Discover
  13. This makes my blood boil!!Time to start handing out some jungle justice. After they hit the bike the car went sliding into the yellow line,on the left hand side and also the steepest section on that climb.Just fortunate there were no cyclists .RIP Bit spooked after seeing this crash site
  14. Terrible! I went through there just after 8am.Happened on the sharp corner on the Llandudno side just past the Oude Kraal gate.Looked like the Conquest was going towards Houtbay and crashed on the corner.I didn't see a bike or motorbike.RIP to the victim and strenght to the family. This is very scary with the hundreds of cyclists using that route.Just no way of getting away from all the traffic, even the back streets are busy at that time of the morning
  15. Put in 2 new tubes with slime and use the old ones as back up.Make sure tyres have enough tread.Did it on worn tyres once ,but did not enjoy the drifting on the corners
  16. Never take it for granted that the Cycle lane will be clear of obstacles. Some M..F.. left a dry tree branch in the cycle lane opp Woodbridge primary, inside the bush was a plank with nails sticking out.Saw it to late as I had the beam on flashing and went OTB in slow mo.Good start to a Tues morning 5AM
  17. Enjoying quiet Koeberg nat reserve ,after a female Eland scared me off for getting to close to her group of 20 ,this guy allowed a photo shoot but gave a snort when he got gatvol of me
  18. Cape Town Central SAPS not a place I would like to visit on a Fri night after having a few beers.Saw a guy standing outside CT Central one Sat am after all his clothes and shoes had been removed by his cell mates.Difficult to fight off 20 other sex starved inmates as well.Be carful out there
  19. Had a clicking noise as well and Michael from Cycles Direct put some carbon paste on the seatpost.Worked like a charm.
