    Take a well known, often ridden climb, check up the average reading on Strava for that climb and divide 2500 by it. The answer is how many times you needs to do it. You in Western Cape I see? Franshoek Pass 5 times, or Franschoek Pass up and over to the other side and over again should get you close. Franshoek Pass is 460m from the monument to the top.

    Agree. I have had XT for 4 years now, original parts except rotors and pads. It is the one part on my bike I just not worry about AT ALL! It just works, in any conditions. Even if I had the budget to go XTR, I would put XT on again, no question. What you lose in the couple of grams in weight, you gain in confidence and reliability.

    Easy to have this man as a role-model! Absolute legend! His relaxed manner and presence is unsurpassed. Saw photos of him at the start of the W2W this morning looking like he and Konny was going for a quick social MTB ride through Lourensford...

    Saw her at the Bouckert Soenen 47km MTB race on Sunday. She came past me from behind in Paarl berg like I was standing still! Amazing athlete!

    Agree with DJ84. Keep it s a "play" bike, if you can afford it. Wish I kept mine.

    Around 8k I think if it is in good condition. If not, a lot less.

    If someone gave me 65k to buy a MTB, I would buy the Anthem Advanced and put the other 30k in the bank, or buy both my kids kick-ass hardtails. That is 3 good bikes for the price of one "windgat" bike. Just my opnion though. Haven't owned a Tallboy, ridden one. I'm faster on my Anthem.

    Well, if you put the same wheels and groupset on both, they differ by 200grams... I have the carbon, but if I ever were to replace my Anthem, itr will be for the X1 Alum.... Best value on the market today... Not as good a groupset or wheels as the carbon, but very descent. A X1 with full XT and ZTR wheels is a fantastic ride (*snik snik)
