  1. Strava has made me a stronger rider... HAHAHAHAHAAA No, it definitely made many of my LSD rides interval rides...
  2. My knee did that once after a fall... I realised my foot was in the way.
  3. I did the Argus on my road bike this year after I had to dust it off for a race 3 weeks before. I did ALL my training on my MTB, as I was also training for Sani2C. The biggest thing to get used to is to get comfortable riding in fast groups and also your backside if your saddle is different. Other than that, training on your MTB is actually good, especially if you do some climbing... It will make you very strong on the road too!
  4. You will have okes that do 2h35 and faster from D. Did a 2h42 from E last year and only came 10th or something in my group.
  5. C for pain!
  6. Good idea!
  7. Yeah, you might look like you come from Eastern Cape.
  8. I am sure there are quite a number of guys living in Table View that are commuting (or part thereof). Maybe look up the Table View Outriders... They might have info / contacts: The Outriders Cycling Club (Table View) Michael de Kock 083 630 9911
  9. Thanks for the info! Finally! Will be tricky to enforce though.
  10. MUD, lots of MUD!
  11. We take it as it comes... That's why our tyres have knobblies, and some even have a back shock!
  12. BWHAHAHAHAAAAAAAHHAHAAA, must look like these Enduro races where the okes run for their bikes at the start!!!! What a joke!
  13. HAHAHAHA, very true. These days 2 glasses of wine gets me completely plastered.
  14. Agree with Smartie, if you can't get yourself to train and get fit on your own, you will not do it in a group either. Get your motivation within.
  15. One word.... STRAVA! No, jokes. I had the problem 2 years ago after finishing Comrades. Didn't want to start training (running) again. So I started MTBing again, but struggled. Like someone else said, get a piece of road or singletrack you really like, use it to get fit, and then chase those (your own too) Strava times... No that I am fit, it is GREAT fun and I get up at 4 every other morning to go ride. And the new Anthem also helps
  16. Join the club, it is well worth it... I ride these trails often as a Wannabe member, fantastic, especially the black route above Bilton.
  17. I bought my new bike and it came with Schwalbe Racing Ralphs (not the snakeskin version). On my previous bike I had the Ground Control front and Fast Trak back, did all my training for and the Sani2C with it, till it was stolen. The Racing Ralph back tyre only lasted 1000km, and front tyre got a terrible cut, so I am back on my Ground Control front and Fast Trak back. 1) Better sidewalls 2) More grip in mud, about the same in loose gravel stuff 3) MUCH easier to seat tubeless 4) About half the price of Schwalbe's Spez tyres the best value for money tyres on the market, IMHO.
  18. Well, in that case, I will go with the Merida... Personally.
  19. Take the Eden gate, climb up any hill like you stole it, turn left into the rock garden and then LEAVE THE BRAKES and find the G-spot!
  20. G-spot, because it is 5 min from my office and I have bought quite a lot of soil there (got the scars to prove it) Thanks for the upkeep! It is fantastic!
  21. Ja ja, ek gaan elkgeval net jou agterwiel sien!
  22. Hi John, We can hook up. I am from SWest, and ride almost every day, and then a long ride Saturday or Sunday. I assume you want a road ride? This Saturday (16th), I am joining the guys for a Burger training ride. Go check here, lots of fun! http://www.thehubsa....th-and-23d-nov/
  23. With the small difference in the 105 and Ultegra, and both producing good carbon, I would look at the wheels. Is the Merida's wheels not better?
  24. See you guys on the 16th!
