    Tonight!

Eina man! Scrub hard and get everything out and use bactroband ointment before dressing the lower deeper graze with a surgical dressing (over grown plaster). Replace plasters at least once a day for the first 3 days. Good advice for the future: try wash the graze with water (or your juice in your water bottle if you can't get water ) asap to help get germs out and speed up recovery dramatically.
  2. Forum Rules: While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Check the forum rules so you don't get a letter one day. Refreshing to see an apology on the hub. ANCYL and the DA should take notes
  3. Not too shabby for an old-timer. Still a long way to go... stage 5 of 20. A team leader has already been taken out in a crash.
  4. I dare one of you to buy a ANCYL t-shirt from their website and wear it to your next club ride and see how long you can stay in front of the peleton... Great threshold training They are a terrorist organisation filled with very angry members who have no physical evidence to back their very personal attacks on anyone who doesn't follow their dictatorship.

  6. Everything in modern day living causes cancer. I don't know anyone who's family hasn't been affected by cancer. Nanosec Nialls2009-08-20 13:12:43
  7. thehubsa's Google, Hoogle - Search result: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=41059&KW=saddle+sores
  8. A friend forgot his car keys in his car. The doors locked and we rode home to get the keys and I gave him a lift back to the venue, wotta chop
  9. No wonder cyclists wear helmets, they seem to keep riding into the same wall making the noise "WADA". I'm getting so tired of hearing about doping cases, ban them for 10 years minimum and life if they get caught twice. WTF is wrong with these people!
  10. Anyone tried Jet fuel? I'm sure the carbon burns quick, just look at the Argus bikes
  11. I would rather use parafin, not to sure what petrol would do... phone you LBS
  12. I'm sure this site has been around for a while but if you have some spare time, try build your dream bike using Trek's Project One, we can always dream... https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/projectone/
  13. I wonder if DSTV/Supersport will continue to support Mr McLean... they have a close and profitable relationship, would be a crime if Supersport lost their sponsors like Medsceme and Telkom Business. SABC are in financial trouble, 700mil or so and I'm sure they would be happy to pickup a show that brings in some big corps. I tend to think cyclist are honest and good people at heart, this is shown by the dubious info been leaked on the Hub last year, it's a good thing. Innocent till proven guilty. Still don't think prices with drop in these tough times.
  14. Can't wait for TNT's reply, let's hope it's not a dud
  15. Glassfit van turned in front of me 3 years ago when I was going 60km/h. It put an end to my dreams of racing for a top team. Years of strengthening work for my knee and back have thankfully allowed me race at a high level again. Everytime I see a Glassfit advert I shake my head, buggers!
  16. LBSs are like smartie boxes, you never know what you are going to get. If shops were more consistent it would make everyone's lives better. Waiting to see how Cyclelab is going change with new ownership and increased competition. Stick with one shop and build a good relationship with them.
  17. My buddy and I were racing down Sandton Drive and didn't notice the traffic car following us the whole time. We overtook a car halfway down and kept on sprinting down the road, when we heard the dreaded sirens Must have happened 5 years ago when I still road like a maniac
  18. 93km/h in the Golden Gate Reserve in the Drakensburg behind a tandem. 91km/h 2 years ago down Jan Smuts riding elite in the 94.7. Got a speeding fine for "speeding and rectless driving" for racing a buddy down Sandton Drive.
  19. I wonder if Jerry Springer is a member of the Hub? I'm sure he could have shared some light on the situation...
  20. It's your responsibility to protect your life on the road. You know how bad people drive and know which roads are more dangerous than others. Be more defensive and a little aggresive on dangerous roads. It doesn't matter if you ride on either side of the yellow line, it all depends on the driver paying attention and seeing you. I'd rather have a few extra punctures riding close to the curb than getting hit by a car.
  21. I can see a future topic coming up... People think I'm an alcoholic because of all my bottle openers
  22. My friend runs a family trophy business and you would be surprised by the amount of work it takes to make a good quality medal. It's very labour intensive and time consuming. I know cause i used to help them with the simpler parts of the process. If people had the choice to receive a medal on not there would have to be enough time for the correct order to be placed. I used to help out till 1am on some big orders like the comrades a few years ago. Race organisers have very tight budgets and need every cent to make a their event a success. Great topic
  23. The marshalling was fantastic, this traffic cop was just sitting in his car watching us while a truck went straight through the intersection. I'm a climber so I have to agree Racing Hart, I was really enjoying the Berge n Dale Classic last week until we hit the boring highway. Emperor's Classic turned out be a fast paced training ride where the goal was not to hit the potholes and watching out for bad marshalling. There were 4 punctures in the elite group with me having a slow puncture.
