  3. When you stand on the farm you will soon realize that it is surrounded by mountains ... and that is where you are heading ... up and down, up and down!
  4. Swiss actually ... As worn by BMC and AG2R
  5. You can go Conti Gatorskin 28mm - more common on tandems Or if you want something a bit more off road, Conti Cyclocross 35mm but then you need to make sure there will be enough clearance in the fork and brake caliper http://www.cwcycles....ntal-cyclocross
  6. Yup, I got klapped outside Eersteriver ... just under the Baden Powel bridge!

    KILLARNEY

Anyone can ride on Wednedsdays ... but if you have never ridden there before, perhaps first give the PPA Tuesday's a bash... Wednedays is a bit more serious, if you cause some of these oaks to crash, youll be getting bashed!
  8. There is one every month! http://www.moonlightmass.co.za/moonlightmass/About.html I be there on my SS!!
  9. Saddle height should be measured from the center of of the BB, then the crank length will have a small influence albeit 2.5mm or 5mm ... but thats more to do with your pedal stroke I know my saddle height and set it up as such before getting onto any bike road/mtb/track/tt /ss or whatever
  10. 42 is cheaper because its old stock and no one buys them anymore, much more common on the older bikes If you dont want quads like a track monkey, stick to 39
  11. Same old same old WP champs circuit Starting at the arrow, in a anti-clockwise direction, two of the big laps and then one small lap (the left half)
  12. If you dont feel like opening them ... send me the one where cadence is still working ... I have a bike I can use it on, not worried about speed, my gps will tell me that! Now for that drink...
  13. If these are around 3/4 years old then they are not as tightly sealed as the later versions. And Yes I have had the exact same problem on two of these sensors. Speed worked on the one, cadence on the other. Each function operates on its own circuit board (if I remember correctly, while ago since I opened one!) Speed can thus still function without Cadence and vice verse. In the end it boiled down to moisture causing the problem. Then newer units are sealed much tighter. There is a DIY fix solution (cant find the document now) ... but it is pretty straight forward, using some WD40 on the connector points and silicone in any other openings to will seal the unit.

Actually road bikes gave birth to mtbs, just ask Mr Fisher and his jean wearing, long beard, pipe smoking hippy friends. But gone are the days of baggy pants and leg hairs, from the get go, all they ever wanted to be, was roadies!
  15. Sorry guys, I have a different interpretation of night riding... normally at night, 8pm/9mp, chuck in some fat tires, mud, singletrack, mountains and all the rest.
  16. Pffft... these dirt roadies! Just stretching your chain man! These are aimed at roadies riding in a aero position or TT position ... or you could just move the magiclight further left or right on the bars. You should be warming up between 5am and 6am ... only need to start looking at your unit once the intensity and sunlight kicks up!
  17. Taking my mud bike through some vineyards onto sweet singletrack, with jumps, berms and plenty of smiles ... on the way to work. Rinse and repeat later in the afternoon ... reward self with beer! Petrol price, what petrol?
  18. Do you go night riding with your road bike ... Magiclight = Mtb
  19. Red ... Chris King Red? Have a look at what we did to this baby .... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/119231-cwc-so-we-make-another-clients-dream-come-true/page__fromsearch__1 (@TheV Cables were fixed!) and this one ... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/119570-cwc-another-pimped-santacruzbikes-being-adopted/page__fromsearch__1 Total awesomeness
  20. What exactly do you mean by this? When you are connected to Garmin Connect ... there will be no GPS signal no matter how hard you try.
  21. You obviously like scratches on your bars and bar ends, all part part of the rough mtb look I suppose. ... but that will totally screw up you road bike shifter caps, nasty!
  22. Would also like to know, there will still be guys riding, twitter said they spotted guys arriving already. Its raining in Durbanville
  23. From the FB page, guess I will see you oaks next time ... my "waterbottle" is empty already anyway .... "Hi Everyone, Those riding with us this evening if you not have not already heard we have postponed from our side. The overall event is still on so far, but we are going to wait for better weather conditions. Fairweather cyclists....The main reason is we do not want to damage Nix's awesome Rhino's"
