  1. No. I bought the bike with the Fizik.
  2. It's the manganese with wingflex. Still debating aerobars. I first want to see how I enjoy this triathlon thing.
  3. I was also in the Cradle. My first lap was cold and wet. Was quite odd.
  4. The saddle is a new Fizik Arione. Cyclefit were happy with it in relation to my flexibility. I reckon I'll play around with the positioning a bit. If all else fails, classifieds!
  5. It was freezing when I started. The mist was thick and the water was dripping off my helmet. I've got a shoulder injury which hurts from stretching out more than the mtb, but my sit bones are bruised!
  6. I'll ask them. It may also be a case of ass used to a bobbing rear suspension...
  7. I've only been on my road bike for a month or so now...prefer the mtb. But need the skinny tyres and weight savings to do 70.3. Question is, how long does it take to get used to a road bike geometry, and more importantly, how long does it take for a saddle to get broken in. My ass is killing me! I've had the bike setup by CycleFit, so one can assume that the setup is accurate (or sufficiently close enough.) Please help me and my ass with some advice.
  8. Who stocks this in SA?
  9. Latex gloves underneath your riding gloves...best way to keep the wind off, and disposable enough to toss in the first bin or shove in a pocket.
  10. I am seeing a physio at the Rosebank Sports Institute. I'm doing all of the exercises to increase flexibility in the ankle that is causing the problem and she has confirmed that weight training on the leg will be beneficial. It's also causing my hips to misalign. So we're doing exercises to release this and realign. Just need some specific weight exercises. Thanks!
  11. I've tried searching and found a few suggestions but nothing overly specific. I have a severe case of a lazy left leg and am starting to develop an abnormally massive right calf and knee pain. Time to hit the weights and get the left leg up to strength. Any suggestions on which exercises to target at the gym? And also how to moderate the difference in training between legs. For example, do I go to gym and only do work on my left leg? Or do I do half the reps on the right? I'm getting quite excited about the idea of finally cycling with both legs. I might even be a little quicker.
  12. Does anyone know who the official photographer was, and where we might be able to view/buy those pics?
  13. First race in five years after a bad accident. Did the half in 2h10mins starting right at the back. Was awesome! Will definitely be back next year. But might hang around for more beers. Seems festive in that dorpie.
  14. There was an issue with my initial entry owing to the system hanging on my credit card payment. I followed up immediately and got my payment through, but I haven't received any email confirmation and still haven't received any race seeding. Who can I contact?
  15. I had a complaint with CL Fourways this week. I emailed the complaint through to them on Wednesday morning. By Wednesday lunch time, Andrew had called me personally to discuss the issue, and as of this morning, they replaced the item I had bought with a brand new item. Everybody makes mistakes, but the way they responded, was fantastic.
  16. I'm 32, and no pro.
  17. I've done 200 a few times before. Steadily decreases after. Where would one go to get a proper HR assessment?
  18. This morning, whilst doing intervals on my IDT, I managed to hit 209 bpm. I immediately stopped training (it was my third last interval,) despite feeling fine. Could it be a faulty HRM? I have the Tom Tom MultiSport which isn't getting heaps of praise. Or could it be a faulty ticker... My max HRM based on standard calculations is 185.
  19. I'd love an HR one if there's a solid one floating about.
  20. The orange aston, the Mini and the black CLK are not his. However, he has more cars that were not featured. His collection is estimated at around 25.
  21. Ok, I'm done. That's all the cars. Left a few ones out ... but so be it.
