  1. Thought it was a trick picture. Until I finally saw the chain...
  2. Just awesome!! Mind me asking how tall you are?
  3. Contrary to the sentiment above to not take your pets and understand I moved to Dubai and not NZ. But for me, hands down the BEST decision we made was to bring our pets. Two Jack Russell’s, they have been the one consistent thing in our lives over the past 18 months. The fist time we took them for a walk with the family I knew we had done the right thing (for us). Has it been a sacrifice, for sure. Had to rent a villa further out of town we would like and we had to find a sitter for we we go away. Vets are crazy expensive. But my JR’s are bulletproof so they very low maintenance.
  4. I’m sure KTM is also using volume as a price play in SA. They sell loads more bikes that Yamaha and all the others. Also, KTM market their new year bikes well and turn over more upgrades. Yamaha owners don’t replace as much so need to extract more profit per unit.
  5. That belongs in the “How to hit an apex” Advanced Series Instruction Manual. Should be used as a case study. I’ve now watched it 10 times and after posting this comment I’m going back for more!!
  6. Hub get ready... Brand X , Y or Z launches new bike, everyone “wow” “awesome”. Specialized launch anything “OMG....pure evil rubbish”. Haters gonna hate.
  7. Yip. I like it !! I got to threaded BB and had heard all I needed to hear.

Agreed. I just love the fact that when the chips are down, he’s almost always there. The ultimate scrapper.

41 years old and can still slay GP podiums.

I wasn’t referring to their athletic ability. I’ve also been fortunate enough to call many a Motorsport (incl. bikes) National champ a friend. So I know how many of them tick. I’ve seen what doctors sign off as “race fit” and sorry it comes up short of “common sense”. Riders having to shift with a bar switch and needing crutches to get off the bike... Sorry, this is a business first, and if you not sure of that, watch what happens if Marc can’t ride, they will have another rider on the bike before the stitches come out his arm....

These guys didn’t get to where they are today by using common sense and logic. This is why all of us here are only world champs on our keyboards. These guys only start where the rest of us quit.
  12. 3’s. Apologies.
  13. Shumie was the best of his era in my opinion but he was also in the best car and for nearly all of his championships he had an accommodating teammate. Ross Brawn was also in a class of his own. The complete package, great car, great driver and great strategist. Together they invented and perfected the undercut. Strangely I was never a Schumacher fan during those years. But now looking back, I see what others saw.
  14. 15 years on Adventure bikes. And hands down for me, Anakee as my first, second and third options. Disclaimer that I was 90/10 Road/Dirt for most of the time.
  15. A good race. Enjoyed that. Hamilton fan or not, you cannot deny his talent. In the damp, 10 laps in and had a 10 sec lead. That’s not just the car.

Crazy race that. Disappointed for Brad and Marc. Hope Mark surgery goes well. How’s how Quartararo celebrates so hard crossing the line he set his airbag off!!
  17. I believe so. Also they running a case study on early COVID detection. I had to opt in for that to share data. Ring measures your body temperature so assume it’s using that along with respiratory rates etc. while you sleeping.
  18. Although I drew the comparison, they are actually quite different. Whoop is aiming at the keen athlete while Oura is more overall health and wellness. I’ll share some insights in a few weeks once there is enough trending data.
  19. Yeah, not the most cost effective way to measure some metrics. But whoop comes with a subscription fee so you need to determine break-even point between the two. Whoop definitely has a few more features and more aimed to the athlete. Ring seems to be more aimed at overall health and wellness. Once I have a few weeks of data and insights I’ll post some info. So far, I can confirm ring is super comfortable and it’s fit and forget. After months sleeping with a Fenix5X Plus on my wrist this is a dream (pun intended).
  20. Will do, looks like it needs a good few days/weeks to get all the trending data. Ordered from their website, believe it’s the only way for now. I live in Dubai and it took 7 days, mate in Jozi ordered one before me and took about 10 days. So at least we know they can ship most places and delivery is reasonably quick.
  21. Oura Ring .... Let’s see how it stacks up against all the Whoop influencers....
  22. Wow, that is some edit. Makes me want to go out and ride!!
  23. Not sure what you might have paid for Cone Valves and a Trax but no way you would have change left! And unless you a marshal you not going to be allowed near a MTB race with that thing :-) Unfortunately an old argument trying to compare off-road bike kit to MTB kit. Tires, chains, etc. cost less but then you replacing them twice as fast in my experience. Go do a MTB stage race and unless you cut a sidewall will probably use 1 set of tires (and still use them afterwards), go ride the ROA on your bike and you’ll be going with at least 4 sets of tires... I’ve done both for many years.. And total cost of ownership over a 2 or 3 year period assuming normal wear and tear plus the odd fall over the MTB definitely costs less than half! Doctor bills also substantially less!
  24. I’m grappling between you calling Patch common or the bicycle common... Then I saw you use the work “nice” and I grappled no more.
  25. Making berms in the desert.. [emoji248]
