o yes they were - neutral zone for the first 1 km (whatever), and from there they just kept on pushing. I think if it wasn't for the 55km joining at the end it would have been faster

but this isn't the breedts neck road - it starts in the depths of the mountain sanctuary and you climb for around 10km

how far is your commute? size will not be so important if its just for a short rides to the shops or down to the beach

With Advendurance starting a 4 race series in the Western Cape, is anyone from JHB going to be doing the races? I am interested, but don't want to fly my bike down. I have spoken to transport companies like bike migration - they are not planning on transporting bikes for these races. They need at least 15 bikes to make it viable. 15 bikes isn't much - is there an interest from JHB hubbers to get their bikes transported to WC for any of these races?

50 hour service is to replace the cartridge that controls the brain, costs about 500. The 150 hour service is a typical shock service including a cartridge replacement and costs about 1300. I never do the 50 hour service, although I can feel the difference when the cartridge is new, just not enough to warrant doing it every 50 hours

The good guys at Thule have a cable device which you put through the rack,and it has big disk which you leave in your boot,and can't be pulled out...makes life a bit harder for itchy fingers
